I know we have lots of youngsters playing and they will have their packed lunchs and bottle of Ribena but what about for our older players? I always bring a couple of blue Powerades or red Lucozade Sports anyway, might have a spare seeing as I'm only down to do 45. Bottle of Ribena would be nice... Cranberry and Pomegranate ? The9 Posted 5 May, 2009 Share Posted 5 May, 2009 (edited) I'm quite looking forward to getting everyone stood on the pitch in something resembling our formation during the warm up so I have the foggiest clue who's going to be where - and then 5-10 minutes knocking a few passes around to see who can and can't play and figure out how we're going to work around it within the parameters of what people have paid for... Oh, and for the record I will be warming up in the flint shorts and MY flint socks and a Saints training top, without shinpads and then going back in to put on the shirt and pads and newly purchased flint socks for kickoff. Might just spend ten minutes whacking the ball up in the air and controlling it too, to see what the bounce is like. Not that I've been planning this or anything... Getting a little bit excited now, ridiculously enough. Edited 5 May, 2009 by The9

Just think how i feel. I dont know the players their names or ability. I then have to conjure up team spirit and a plan to counteract Dubais obvious cheating and underhand tactics. To be fair the kick in will be a quick foresight into my chances of being the winning manager.
Baj Posted 5 May, 2009 Share Posted 5 May, 2009 There is one really important thing that hasn't been mentioned yet. As you know, Steve and myself have put a great deal of effort into organising this, with no personal gain, we're paying our way the same as everyone else (in fact more so with the faffing about of collect kits, making phone calls etc etc), we do however ask one thing... that Steve and Myself can be captains of our respective team... we would see that as a minor "perk" for all the hassle... any objections? Although i've never been a fan of the captain being a forward player myself I had a long reply to the initial demand and the forward not being a good position to be captain thing was in that. Who scored the 3rd and set up the 4th? I must say seeing that heartened me as i for the first time seeing my strike force in tandem. Granty's goal was a fluke you could plainly see he was looking the other way and he missed timed his tame effrot that was going straight to the keeper into a stunning volley. The9 Posted 5 May, 2009 Share Posted 5 May, 2009 Good calm finish, Im nearly impressed. Terrible clearance in the first place though, I may have lost a yard or two of pace since then too. Or my legs might have already have gone by then, it was 5 and a half years ago and it's difficult to remember. The "quick throw" goal was all down to their defence being half asleep on the half way line, I'd been calling for it for about 5 seconds before I actually made the run... nice throw from Minty too. dubai_phil Posted 5 May, 2009 Share Posted 5 May, 2009 Phew, all sorted, all landed. Very busy on a top secret undercover project over the weekend, can't talk about it as it would only open another wave of conspiracy theory threads on here. Anyway I can safely now announce that Lucy is feeling much better after her weekend aerobics workout in that nice little hotel in the forest and I can concentrate on critical things you all need to hear. 1) I can confirm that MLT is (probably) aware of us. We have asked for his endorsement, but that may not happen as I 1) I don't think an email to MLT.Com is likely to work and 2) forgot to pack my monopoly set and so we as a group have no access to becoming property speculators. 2) I can confirm that I have been working out religously, in fact my right arm became very tired in the pub on Saturday evening lifting all that real ale. Luckily the Skatesmuff crew came in so I was able to regale them with my tactical nous and have convinced them that JP is the man to sign for next season when they get bored with Hart. (Mind you I did make a bit of a nonsense of the Hamptworth Golf Course on Monday - 6 under par on the front nine - wow. Shame about the back nine though 3) I am still not sure we can get the limo. I got a nice upgrade to a Picasso, which is damned annoying as I wanted to rent a car not a damned painting, not sure how to fit some wheels onto the wooden frame to get down from London - are paintings allowed on the M3 these days? 4) Pink Laces. Thanks Nick love it. If it's good enough for the Australian Cricket Team, then by heck my guys deserve to wear them 5) Looks like we may have a few forum legends in attendance hurling abuse. It will rock 6) Where the F@*&^k can you take a laptop to get internet access in this country without having to sign up for T Orange or Vodamobile. Salisbury library only let me in for 30 minutes a day as they have an issue about me signing up as a member and taking their books home to Dubai for 6 months at a time Still trying to find a way to get my feet inside my car boot sale special Diadora football boots, they say size big person, I am size big person but no wonder all you lot get metatarsals. Still better than slipping on my backside laughing when I see Nickh come out for the on pitch shenanigans. Most important is suit is all pressed and so is the tie. Am I the ONLY one who CANNOT WAIT!
