lordswoodsaints Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 we need a win from you tonight, otherwise it really will be all over. it would be nice if this fella does us a favour... http://www.football.co.uk/coventry_city/players/leon_best_101352.shtml but i dont think he is playing.
saints_is_the_south Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Coventry have been pretty dire of late, wouldn't be surprised if Barnsley get something tonight.
slickmick Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Simply has to be a Coventry win. Also, would like to see Reading lose tonight, that will give them something to fight for against Norwich on Saturday.
DT Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Christ this is getting desperate. We'll be hoping for ineligible players next. Still, didn't stop Birmingham in that win against us, did it?
Saint Fan CaM Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 (edited) Best not playing - groin surgery. But they've got some decent strikers that I wouldn't mind seeing in a Saints shirt. Err, just seen that Leon McK is out injured, so its gonna be Morrison and Eastwood then - Eastwood has not impressed this season. Striker: 9.Leon Best 10.Freddy Eastwood 14.Leon Mckenzie 19.Clinton Morrison 24.Robbie Simpson Edited 21 April, 2009 by Saint Fan CaM
skintsaint Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Barnsley are going to win, can feel it in my waters.. I have Coventry.
Scudamore Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Barnsley are going to win, can feel it in my waters.. I have Coventry. Have them in what way?
Scudamore Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 in my panini sticker album. I'd come on that...
ericofarabia Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 A Coventry win would just be a stay of execution for us, delaying the inevitable. Having seen the last 30 mins of last nights game Burnley will murder us on Saturday. They easily soaked up Sheff Utds aerial bombardment, were fast and exciting on the break and their wingers actually got to the by line and put in some wicked crosses to Paterson (?) who looked pretty handy and Blake will always be a threat with his shooting and our tendency to back off and concede spectacular 30 yarders. Burnley know that a win against us will put them 3 games away from The Prem. Expect them to come out all guns blazing and try and repeat the first 10 mins of the game at Turd Moor ... 0-3  Whats that line from Clock Watching .... Failure I can cope with, it's the faint hope of success that I can't (or something similar) Of course I'll be screaming for a Cov win tonight, it must be the sado -masochist in me
Bourne Valley Saint Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 We've actually got to win two games in succession to have the faintest of chance of staying up. Anyone who was at Sheff W on Saturday will know that scenario will be virtually impossible.
skintsaint Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 somehow we pulled 3 wins on the bounce...we can do 2.... *prolly not though*
.comsaint Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Coventry have won just 1 of their last 9 league games - and that was a 1-0 win at home to Doncaster Rovers. The Sky Blues' injury woes have continued ahead of the game with the news that captain Scott Dann will miss the remaining three matches of the season. The centre-half was forced off with a groin injury midway through the second half of their 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Dann joins fellow defender Stephen Wright (knee), midfielders Jordan Henderson (foot) and David Bell (ankle) and forwards Leon McKenzie (Achilles) and Leon Best (groin) in recently having their campaigns prematurely ended. Having said all that - Barnsley are chasing their first league win in 7 matches. Therefore - my money is on a draw.
londonsaint1604 Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 somehow we pulled 3 wins on the bounce...we can do 2.... *prolly not though* That's the real problem. Even if all the other results somehow go our way we'll still **** it up.
Stax Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 It doesnt matter what happens tonight as we aint gonna beat Burnley on Saturday we have been c**p all season at sms and burnley looked awesome last night and still need points for play offs.
The9 Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Coventry's run in has so far done everything possible to assist in relegating us, I'm not expecting any favours from them tonight either... Their last three results, against other relegation rivals... Football League Championship Plymouth 4-0 Coventry 11-04-2009 Football League Championship Coventry 0-0 Charlton 13-04-2009 Football League Championship Nottm Forest 1-0 Coventry 18-04-2009
The9 Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 It doesnt matter what happens tonight as we aint gonna beat Burnley on Saturday we have been c**p all season at sms and burnley looked awesome last night and still need points for play offs. Actually we were quite good against Preston and Cardiff for a bit... Burnley don't really need any more points for the play-offs, they're already 5th and Swansea or Preston losing either of their remaining 2 games pretty much sees them in. I'd also quite like to see Derby beat Reading to ease Burnley's concerns and assist our cause (but not as much as I'd like to see Barnsley lose).
Saints67 Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Coventry haven't scored in 450 minutes of football according to the BBC. I'm sure Barnsley will show more of a fight tonight than our lot did on Saturday.
Ken Tone Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Has Skacel signed yet? The big question is, is he playing football yet? K.
topher1664 Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 ******** - 1-0 to Barnsley after 9 miniutes FFS!
Window Cleaner Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 ******** - 1-0 to Barnsley after 9 miniutes FFS! Give it up, it was over 17 days ago.
Red and White Russ Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 oh dear, Saturday is going to be such a damp squid of a day!
Window Cleaner Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 oh dear, Saturday is going to be such a damp squid of a day! Seemingly but what did you all expect. There was 1 match this season that was a "must win", at home to the bottom team, we lost miserably and that was the end of that.
saint lard Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 I am not surprised in the least. Let's just end this season ASAP.
Holbury Saint Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 I feel as brassed off as the rest of us BUT IF we win the last 2 regardless of tonights result, I think we will have enough taking Forest and Norwich down. However, just for the ultimate kick in the teeth we will then get docked the 10 points and go down anyway. No points deduction, 2 wins and the miracle will be complete! Won't happen though............will it??????
Griffo Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 (edited) I think if Barnsley win tonight, only one of Barnsley and Forest need to get only 1 point each in their last 2 games between them to pretty much send us down, I think? Am I right? Edited 21 April, 2009 by Griffo
Window Cleaner Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 I think if Barnsley win tonight. Only one of Barnsley and Forest need to get only 1 point each in their last 2 games between them to pretty much send us down, I think? I reckon if things stay as they are tonight and Forest get a point on Saturday about 10000 people will actually turn up at SMS on Saturday.Because we will have been relegated for sure, maths or no maths.
benjii Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 I reckon if things stay as they are tonight and Forest get a point on Saturday about 10000 people will actually turn up at SMS on Saturday.Because we will have been relegated for sure, maths or no maths. I wonder if anything "exciting" will happen at the match?
Leicestersaint Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 oh dear, Saturday is going to be such a damp squid of a day! More likely it will be a damp squib of a day - in fact the whole season has been a damp squib for Saints. Let's face it we're down and completely fckued.
aberdare Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 If Barnsley win tonight and Forest get a point, the only possibility are 4-5-6 nil wins in both games.
Merovingian Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 I reckon if things stay as they are tonight and Forest get a point on Saturday about 10000 people will actually turn up at SMS on Saturday.Because we will have been relegated for sure, maths or no maths. loads of pompey on about going in the away end on Satdee
NickG Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 live league table on here; http://live.skysports.com/ScoreCentre/live.html we could be winning and watching our team go down on Saturday
Jesus Reigned Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 She seems to be smuggling a peanut on her right but not the left?
um pahars Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 I think if Barnsley win tonight, only one of Barnsley and Forest need to get only 1 point each in their last 2 games between them to pretty much send us down, I think? Am I right? We could overhaul both of them on goal difference (If Barnsley lose by something like 4 goals over two games and we won by 4 goals across two games). As for Forest we would have to beat Burnley 1-0 and Forest 2-0 or something like that. Nothing outrageous, but still a very big ask.
Window Cleaner Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Time to wheel out Miss Bush.... What a pair of wuthering heights, must be a later day photo, looks a bit anorexic there, apart from the whs that is.

Papa Shango Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 loads of pompey on about going in the away end on Satdee Nice to see you still care. They'll just be putting money in our coffers anyway.
Jeff Le Taxi Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 What a pair of wuthering heights, must be a later day photo, looks a bit anorexic there, apart from the whs that is. Helluva cesarian scar!
exit2 Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 way things are going we could up bottom of the league! well if we lose all our games and charlton win theirs
thorpie the sinner Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 its kinda quite difficult to keep the faith!!
Window Cleaner Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Leon Best better do us a favour and quick!!! don't think he gets a game too often now.May be injured or loaned out for all I know.
Bromley Saint Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Best isn't in the squad for tonight's game.
StuRomseySaint Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 loads of pompey on about going in the away end on Satdee ... and I wonder if they will make themselves known? Doubt it..... hope so though.
Yate Saint Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 don't think he gets a game too often now.May be injured or loaned out for all I know. Yeah, not in favour at all now. Looking on the BBC he is not on the bench tonight.
OldNick Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 loads of pompey on about going in the away end on SatdeeI think the tickets are sold for that area.I dont know how strict the ticket is at present in the home area though!!!
