Dog Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 What is the best fish to stick on a barbecue? I have to cook a bbq tomorrow and it has to be fish only as we are religous. P.S. Has anyone seen the new jar man?
Marsdinho Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 What religion states that you have to eat BBQ'd fish on a Tuesday?!?!?
Dog Posted 20 April, 2009 Author Posted 20 April, 2009 What about course fish? I was thinking Carp, roach and chubb from the local Povski deli in town.
Deppo Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 What religion states that you have to eat BBQ'd fish on a Tuesday?!?!? Dogma.
benjii Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 Shark by a massive country mile. Seriously, it's beautiful. Doubt you will get any decent shark though. Is your BBQ in south east Asia?
Marsdinho Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 How do you know? http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dogma http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogma http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/dogma Or were you talking about the film
Jillyanne Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 Sea bass, in foil with lemon and butter and herbs.
Deppo Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 Dogma's more of a cult at the moment, but it will be big, trust me. And trust Dog. All that he asks is you give all your wealth and possessions to him...
hamster Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 Prawns, either that or Mackerel. Lovely fish when barbecued, good and oily. Tip: If it smells fishy, it's already going off. Does s aligator count as a fish, cos that's nice?
St Landrew Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 (edited) Monkfish That's a good call. Also any naturally oily fish is great on the barbeque. Mackeral for example; alsoran fish here, but loved on the continent. Superb eating. Try Milkfish from the Phillipines, but watch out for the tiny bones. Great flesh though. Tilapia is also excellent. Red Snapper too. And there's always Lobster if you really want to push the boat out. Just try something different from sausages and burgers. EDIT: BTW, I've eaten Crocodile steak. It tasted fishy - honest..! Fresh water..? Carp, but wash it well first overnight, otherwise it'll taste of the riverbed. Edited 21 April, 2009 by St Landrew
Deppo Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Why not get a selection, just for the halibut. My god.
bungle Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Tuna steak is very good BBQ'd, but won't disagree with mackeral or monkfish.
Pancake Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Seabass wrapped in foil with garlic, butter and some oregano.
scott_saints Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Is this the right plaice to talk about fish?
Jillyanne Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Seabass wrapped in foil with garlic, butter and some oregano. I believe I have already said this.
St Landrew Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Seabass wrapped in foil with garlic, butter and some oregano. Yeah, and how about the mortgage to go with it..? Why not have Halibut, and really put yourself in debt..? Bloody nice though.
