Redondo Saint Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 not wishing to name drop (!) but Rod was asking me yesterday morning after football, what the fck is going on at Saints. Apparently he was scheduled to be there in the Summer but this has now been postponed...? I asked him to to make a bid and bring his buddy WGS back to manage. He wasn't too keen on this idea... if only.. :0
saintinlondon Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 yeah. i had heard that he was doing a gig and i think also chris de burgh (hardly a crowd puller?)
Whitey Grandad Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 There's too much apathy about at the moment.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 He must of known we were SAILING close to administration when he booked, there is every REASON TO BELIEVE it will be cancelled all together, this may seem like rambling but STAY WITH ME, he probably thinks SOME GUYS HAVE ALL THE LUCK that his mate Elton got to play here but he (MAGGIE) MAE not.
Dicko Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 That's ****** I heard Rupert wanted to come on stage & join in with 'If ya think I'm sexy' , but his resignation ruined it Rod lost interest after that and cancelled
Kingsland Red Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 I dont want to talk about it ( How you broke my heart)
saintredwine Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 What about Coldplay doing a concert at St Mary's and all gate money going to the Club, well Will Champion is a Saints fan so surely they would agree to help!
Block 5 Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 yeah. i had heard that he was doing a gig and i think also chris de burgh (hardly a puller?) I disagree.

Personaly I prefer the Chuckle Brothers anyway .

CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 how about Lennie Bennett? oh hang on...... Make it Tony Bennett and you've got my attention .... Better than some superannuated Jock with an enormous tartan clad arse anyway - or was Kenny Everett exaggerating ?
chocco boxo Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 We will be playing our home games in Rod's back garden before long?
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 Never a dull moment. Every picture tells a story
eelpie Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 I think the administrator might have missed a trick if he was responsible for postponing the summer concert. Even if Saints ceased to exist then the stadium will still be here, and the revenues would help pay off some of creditors moneys that otherwise would be zilch. And if Saints are saved by any chance, it would be more than useful. And also, there are probably lots of local firms who are owed money.

Rather than the concert being postponed, it was never actually booked despite Rod Stewart's people being keen (as were The Eagles for another gig) as SLH couldn't guarantee there would be an operating company behind the stadium by the time the concerts came around.
hamster Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 What about Coldplay doing a concert at St Mary's and all gate money going to the Club, well Will Champion is a Saints fan so surely they would agree to help! Less expenses of course, as long a s no-one objects. ;-)
steadyeddie Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 We will be playing our home games in Rod's back garden before long? What about the place behind his garden - Gasoline Alley.
