New Owner - not happening?

Isn't that like saying I'd rather buy a Rolls missing its wheels, doors, seats and engine, so I can get it for a few thousand less?

Someone else who understands the issue here thank goodness. This is NOT about being impatient and wanting confidential info to be released. It is all about the QUALITY of the interested parties AND whether or not there any bids on the table. I suspect there are none at this point in time. And anyone with a serious interest and with the finance to back it up will surely make an offer based on a WORST CASE SCENARIO...i.e. a relegated team.

The fact that Fry has not been able to update us since the initial "we've got 34" statement is a concern. We ARE the club - we are the future income generators for a potential owner. I cannot fathom why an update cannot be made available to the fanbase about progress without giving away ANY confidential information about the participants. That is, IF there are ANY credible participants in the arena.

OK so this is taking a while. we can see why

Can I throw a nasty spanner in the thought process?

We're going to have to pay a lot of money in wages very soon, and with that comes the tax & NI.

Life cannot be as easy as many on here would like to think it is

Spot on.

Trouble is when the season ends and their is no money coming in whatsoever and you've got to pay players in May, June, July with no income. The longer this drags on the worse its going to get.

Good grief peeps - Relax!

We had HOW MANY takeovers where everything was micro-analysed on here?

And now we have a real takeover and we know nothing.....

Anyone care to admit that could be because this time it is being done professionally?

Great post echoing my thoughts exactly! ;-)

There is no way this club will be allowed to disappear round the U bend.

This is why the Administrator set such a tight time limit on finding a new owner - it'll happen in the next month or so or not at all . Either way we'll know soon enough .

Surely clubs get in a decent cut of their year's income through season ticket sales. That would usually be more than enough to pay the wages through the summer. It's TV money and those fans that pay per game that keep the club finances ticking over during the year. That's what made me laugh at the Charlton game. The season ticket holders were deriding the extra fans who turned up to support the club, even if they didn't stay. For most people, it was the easiest way to get money into the coffers for very little outlay by the club. The club has already had and spent the money forked out by the season ticket holders so the only money they bring in is through merchandise (probably bought pre-season as well) and for food and drink at the stadium.

Yes butthe problem here will be that as we are in admin, how many will pay up front when we dont know whether teh club will exist next season? NOt sure what teh degree of protection wis likely to be if you pay up and it folds - unless we all pay on credit cards and get that protection?

We just go round and round in circles on here talking about this. I wonder if people who start new threads ever bother to read anything else other than their own writings.

It is quite obvious that we have not been able to attract a buyer during the past three years so why do you think anything will change now in a credit crunch. £27 million debt, no idiot on earth is going to go for that for their "love" of Saints.

The Official Receiver will be called in in August and SLH as we know it will be wound up. If somebody buys saints FC, they will have to hope that a buyer can be found for SMS and who will be altruistic enough to preserve the stadium as a soccer ground and lease it back to saints. Just maybe Tesco or ASDA might do so if they can develop a shopping complex around it.

Can't imagine anything will actually happen til the "last minute", whenever that may be........too many imponderables.......once the team capitulate at the weekend at least any buyer will know what they are getting!.........good luck to them...they may well need it!

I would hope a company as loss-making as us wouldn't have a big tax bill.

Work it out

Euell on 15k a week - puts him (and others) into "supertax" bracket. He takes a pay cheque we have to pay tax, end of whether in admin or not

Our wage bill is what 7mil a year even with basic maths for tax & NI that would be around 40% as tax would be around 250k a MONTH.... taken off the salary and paid by the club to the tax man....

then of course employers NI stuff

But hey what do I know about tax, I live down here :)

No we're not. The plc is in admin, the football club is not. If we were, we would already have been docked points. Keep to the right path here, lets not give all those that want us to perish, more food for thought, by claiming we are in fact.................broke!!

Another one........we are not £27 million pounds in debt, the plc is, don't make claims like that, the nasties will believe you.
