Andy_Porter Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 1-1, Quinn (Giovanni). It's on 5live sports extra.

PaulSaint Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 If we got lucky & won the next two would it be enough? (To ensure we get the 10 points this season & not next I mean!)
Andy_Porter Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 If we got lucky & won the next two would it be enough? (To ensure we get the 10 points this season & not next I mean!) Would need to be very lucky with games going our way and to win them both. Our goal difference would probably send us down if we won both.
ludgershallsaint Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 If we got lucky & won the next two would it be enough? (To ensure we get the 10 points this season & not next I mean!) We'd need Forest not to win next Sat (Blackpool A) and Norwich to lose one of their last two games after today (Reading H, Charlton A). If Forest got the draw we'd probably need to beat them by a couple. Very slim chance.
rick1976.4.38 Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 no point delaying the inevitable, unfortunately our great club is down, onwards and hopefuly upwards, coyr
swesaint Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 If we win our remaining games, Forest lose at Blackpool and Norwich picks up a maximum of three points we stay up. If Forest draw we probably need to beat them by two goals. I´d say we have about 2-3 % chance of finishing above the drop zone.

I don't think Forest will beat Blackpool - they'll need to get something to make sure they're safe before the final day. If Norwich lose today, I see them losing one of their last two games. Us winning next week and beating Forest is the stuff of fantasy.
saintjinksie Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 Surely barnsley are still in the mix as well, no one is mentioning them. If they lose to cov on tuesday, they are closer than forest to us.
Stax Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 Lets just look forward too winning league 1 next year!

True but they are effectively 4 points ahead at the moment and Coventry have won 1 in 9. I'm not hopeful of Coventry doing us a favour.
Nexstar Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 True but they are effectively 4 points ahead at the moment and Coventry have won 1 in 9. I'm not hopeful of Coventry doing us a favour. In the unlikely event of coventry doing us a favour barnsley still have wolves as one of their last 2 games.
ART Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 Some folk don't seem to realise that there has to be two clubs worse off than us to escape relegation with Charlton. Norwich seem to be fated along with Saints for relegation and promotion for as long as I can remember. I'd have loved us both to have escaped with Barnsley and Forest going down but sadly I don't think it'll happen.

beatlesaint Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 before anyone starts with the "we can still do this" bit can we kindly remember that to stand any chance we have to win both our remaining games. And that is where the problem starts...and ends...cos with these players we will not do that unfortunately.
