Cambridge must have changed then in the last 30 years but i suspect you are suffering from John Smith syndrome. Its distressing but thankfully so far yours seems under control.

I dont like John Smith's very much Fullers Pride or Adnams is better I think

I was born in Southampton

I was raised in Southampton

I intend to ultimately snuff it in Southampton

If someone asks me where I am from, I say Southampton

Southampton is where the plane that saved the world from tryranny was built, by the hands of Southamptoners

Southampton is the place where the crew of a certain ship hailed from that died in their hundreds whilst saving the lives of women and children

Southampton is the place where a certain little-known football club hailed from that used to take great pleasure in sticking a middle finger up at and embarassing big rich footballs clubs from London and Northern Monkey Land

I am proud of my association with Southampton, and as a result I could not give a flying f**k in which league the club with the name containing the word "Southampton" plays in, I will continue to moan and slag off the manager, the players and the owner after every shiite performance.

I agree %100 Alpine, although the word is Sotonians.

Soul Cellar.and no jukebox Im afraid...............

They did have an 80's games consoley thingy though.

I think that place is going to get messy tonight.

Had to leave when the missus fell over for a second time and someone tried to start playing the keyboards for a rather good mod/rolling stonesish band.

Huzzahhhhhhhhhhhh

Godwin have increased my caution by just a soupcon of suspicion that the king of all wind ups is in play.

Is that Godwin from Block 10???

Don't want to be too rude, but if you're still trolling on here after today's results then I have to say I feel very sorry for your wife and kids. Surely you have some friends who can pull you aside and have a quiet word???

Just what does your life consist of?????

You should have seen the Painted Wagon in its real heyday around 1975. The Saints coaches to away matches used to leave from outside around midnight. You can imagine how couth the departure was.

I ran a coach to Blackpool one year, '75 I think. We started from there, picking up at Eastleigh Railway Station and then Bar End (A33 old days). We had so many on board at the Wagon that I had to slip the driver a wedge to make sure he stopped at the other two pick ups.

If there has been a funnier comment ever made on this forum then i have not read it. No disrespect to Guided Missile if he is being 100% genuine but the homages to the messers Wheeler and Godwin have increased my caution by just a soupcon of suspicion that the king of all wind ups is in play.

In any event GM, I appreciate what you are trying to do, keep up the good work.

(You're not married to Gael Lindenfield, Susan Jeffers or Virginia Ironside or someone of similar persuasion? If so they may have decoded your password)

Difference is, I'd happily shake GM by the hand...

You, I'd happily shake by the throat...

OK, no references to the past...

Saints can start next season with a clean slate. There could well be no baggage [oops, nearly a reference there..?], and real hope. Let's get this season over, a new ambitious owner, and into a new era. The stadium will be the best in the league [although Huddersfield Town's Galpharm Stadium is supposed to be pretty tasty too] and Saints can expect to make progress. Dare I say we could emulate Leicester City..?

That took effort. ;)

I know several Leicester fans, they have thoroughly enjoyed this season as you'd expect. On the other hand living so close to Luton I bump into a lot of Luton fans who as you would expect are not happy! The difference ( or one of them ) of course is Leicester were not deducted THIRTY points by the Football League( a disgrace in my eyes). I think any club/fan would be really hacked off by having to win 10 games just to get to zero points. Mathematically of course Luton could have survived in the Football League but realistically the deduction was always going to lead to only one outcome. But even then Luton's MD Gary Sweet can find some positivity:

" We can hold our heads high knowing we haven't been relegated for our performances or the quality of our players. It felt like ( being relegated ) a huge weight has been lifted off our shoulders because, for the first time, the dark clouds hanging over us left by the previous incumbents have been moved on. "

Of course they also managed to win the JP Trophy, not to be sneezed at when things are so bad and an indication that actually they had a decent team !

Ideally next season which realistically will be in League One we can start with new owners, a new manager and no points deduction and start to rebuild the ruins left by 5-6 years of incompetence on a massive scale. At present it feels exactly as Gary Sweet commented that many dark clouds are hanging over the club, it's depressing even for someone like me who can find positives from most situations. Currently I can find none from our current plight other than a heartfelt hope things can only improve !??

Most of all ( points deduction or not) this current situation must never be allowed to happen again, one could hope that the fans will be allowed a far bigger say in all things Saints related AND not kept in the dark over just about every issue( though the uncertainty re the takeover is to be expected given not only the complexity of the situation but that the disclosure of the people behind any takeover bid might not be in their best interests and ultimately that of the club).

One final wish is that a role be found for MLT ( and maybe) Franny within the club. I'm not sure either have any desire to be appointed as full time managers, coaches etc but I'd be very disappointed if both were not prepared to spend some time in some capacity helping the club.

Cheers buddy - glad you took this in the spirit it was intended - we will probably never see eye to eye on some things, which is fine, but we are ALL Saints fans and the club needs us now more than ever - it may be a cheesy love in, (Fondue? ;-)) but the truth is if we want to rebuild we need strong foundations and that starts with fans willing and determined to have one voice behind the team, the club and board going forward - Halleluja

Somehow I preferred the old days of bitter divisions to this new metroman pseudo gay world we are evolving into.

But what the heck, perhaps we just all need a hug

If it's alright with you guys can I book the suite next door? you won't be upset if I bring Lucy P and chocolate flavoured squirty cream with me though will you?
