corsacar saint Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Agree total irony, with Leicester coming up[ well done to Nigel Pearson], and Saints almost certainly going the other way, with what sounds like a totally spineless performance. Then I suppose surviving will be our biggest challenge. As an after thought I suppose the dutch experiment had nothing to do with Lowe either. Window Cleaner Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 At least we will be the biggest club in league one if Leeds go up Nah, Charlton are a bigger club than us cos they can find money to stop them going into administration. Dalek2003 Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 The important thing now is to look forward. We may well be in League 1 next year, but we need to prepare our campaign afresh and raise morale an spirits in the club under a new manager and a new board. Saint Fan CaM Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Now we can stop worrying about relegation (or indeed hoping for survival) because I think the clubs fate is sealed. Trouble is, I now fear strongly that potential serious investors will walk away - there is so little to invest in now. The club is a shell of its former self...when the players that walk go, who will be left? If Woggy was still here he might be in line for a game. Window Cleaner Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Same old stuff from the most useless bunch of so called "footballers" ever to wear the shirt..........I said for months they don't give a stuff as long as thety pick up their unearned income each week............relegation should be followed by a totally clean slate...........get rid of all this driftwood and start afresh, even if it means another relegation next year.............. until the club is rid of the uncaring waste there is no way forward............in fact, after today there may well be less people with more money than sense wishing to save the whole thing!!........... Amen. Finally someone else has realised that our problem lies entirely with the players, as it did when we got relegated from the Prem, something must hang about in the dressing room at SMS which turns decent players into full blown crap. Harry Redknapp is a good manager, what he's done at Skate and Spurs proves that, the fault is with the players and only with the players. I work with a lot of extremely bright people, who get far less than even the young players at SMS, but if my guys and gals performed like them Europe would be in serious shït. strummer Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 By my reckoning, Saints could be down even before the Burnley game (bar a big shift in goal difference). B Rabbit Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Spineless doesn't even begin to describe the shower of sh1te today. A game that we really had to win.... A performance from complete losers. I hope you f@cking read this you bunch of gutless useless cun7s... U are completely responsible for us entering the 3rd tier of English football for the first time I'm 50 years. That's some achievement for a club with such a backing of fans and facilities. I cannot fathom how (although may disagree) a game of such importance could bring out such a f@cking gutless, slow, tired, predictable, clueless and passionless performance. You are all a f@cking disgrace. P1ss off soon.... Give me league 1 and 15 new face who care to play for SFC and earn the right to wear the shirt.... Not the pile of sh1t being served up today and previous 30 games. F@cking embarressment. Nice long 4 hour journey home now and 40 quid wasted. Can't tell u how happy I am that my effort to support the team was matched with a tremendous passionate effort on the pitch.

geoffnut Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Totally gutless performance again today. This bunch of players and the manager should all be sacked and lets make a new start in League1. rallyboy Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Now I reckon that if we don't get at least a point against Burnley the Forest game might be needed to be upgraded to a must-win..... Not surprised at all by today, we all know the team is the worst ever, they have proved it again - let's just save the club. The fans have been far more supportive than any of the players have deserved, we need to put on a brave face for the consortiums again next week. I can't see that all potential buyers will be put off by the results, they knew we were a crap team and a major rebuild was needed so that hasn't changed, staying up would have been a bonus rather than a requirement, and if anyone had based their whole business plan on us staying up then they are as deluded as the last clown and best they move along. 70's Mike Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 (edited) I am 70's Mike youngest son, he has just phoned home and he and my elder brother are not happy driving home from Sheffield. Many of the words he used i cannot type on here but gutless and clueless are two i can. I did not help the mood by laughing and saying glad i stayed in bed this morning This is now me, took it in turns to drive home with eldest and was worried what youngest had posted on my behalf. Today summed up our whole season for me, other than the odd flukey performance we have just been PLAIN POOR. As fans we have been sold down the river, what is hard to take is we see Wolves promoted with young players and Leicester and we ended up with Peckhart, Robertson, Gasmi, Gobern, Pullis etc and being honest even are so called good academy players DMG, Lallana, Lancashire etc are not as good as some of the young players other clubs are finding SLH was built on sand after the reverse takeover , today it has crumbled to nothing Edited 18 April, 2009 by 70's Mike

yorkie Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Been back about 30mins - had my tea and considered my second post of the day! What a load of boll*x! We were never really in the game - Wednesday always first to the ball. We created 2-chances in the first half a McGoldrick header that he should of buried but lofted over the bar, and Euell in on goal shinned it and the keeper saved (for a corner). We were second best in every department. No energy, no passion and no idea! We are down, and the players know it, the fans know it, and Wotte knows it! Get ready for the hail of bullets - better if the club dies, because then I won't feel guilty about not going any more. It hurts at the moment to know the "super stars" at Southampton are more like over pampered pussy cats! Get used to it lads no saviour now. No rich sugar daddy to come in and change our fortunes. It won't belong before we have a ground share with Eastleigh - or Salisbury! The fans today were great. I thought the atmosphere until the second goal was very tense but still behind the boys. The second goal was the killer (as they say)! Performances to mention - James had a good game and showed plenty of commitment. Skacel was a player substituted - but never really turned up. The problem up front was always 2-players going for the same ball - and to be honest never looked like they had played together. The midfield was woeful - none of the Surman, Wotton, McGoldrick or Lallana put in a performance. Sure Wotton huffed and puffed and showed more than a little aggression - but honestlyt it's not enough! Get used to mickey mouse grounds, mickey mouse policing, and hard core fans in Division 1. I will take it or leave it - I can't ewatch this rubbish any more. I love football but what is served up by my team doesn't resemble u-14 level. I know as a (so called) fan people will describe me as a fair weather supporter, sing when we're winning type - but the whole mess at the football club has me seething. It's easy to blame Lowe, or Portvleit, or Wotte - but guys the eleven players on the pitch have let us down badly. Sure we were experimenting with playing the youth team, but I look at the names in play today - and only James and Lallana were "youth" the rest were seasoned professionals with plenty of experience. I was going to come "home " for the Burnley game, and venture to Forest - but I can't take it any more this season. I'll stay at home with the wife, have a stroll into town for a coffee and then do some gardening. It's a hell of a lot cheaper and a lot less stressful. I know who I blame. It's not the watching Saints lose - I've had that for over 40-years. But enough is enough. I went through this after a drubbing at OT a few seasons back, but then it was lack of effort. These players try but aren't good enough. Saying that playing in another team with a different manager, and set up they may flourish - please get rid of the lot and try again. We need a new brush to sweep clean in my opinion. If any players read these pages - hang your heads in shame! You were a shambles this afternoon like for most of the season. As a football club we got what we deserved - relegation to a lower division. It's the fans (well all those uber fans/ultras) I feel sorry for. I'm lucky - I still have memories to fall back on. RingySFC Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Just back from the game, nice too see so many fans made the journey. Just a shame that was pretty much the only posative, only had one decent chance and their keeper made a good save when it was 1-0. Players didnt seem so show any fight, kept on hoofing the ball up the middle, very little passing along the floor was very frustrating. Wednesday wernt very good and were there for the taking...just a shame we were worse and kept on hoofing the ball up to no one.

We have been served up some ****e over the past few years but i can honestly say that i have never felt this low about saints ever. As easy as it is to blame Lowe, Wilde, Wotte, there were 11 so-called 'pros' out there today who showed NO commitment, NO desire, NO effort and certainly NO bottle. If the players give their all then i find it very difficult to slag them off. However, today was totally unacceptable. Still get some saints fans clapping them off though. Utterly unbelievable.
