StuRomseySaint Posted 17 April, 2009 Share Posted 17 April, 2009 .... Had a bit of a house clearance and got loads of tat and rubbish to sell on to pikeys and Polish people, where is the best car boot on Saturday to sell it all? I know Bursledon is on a Sunday but I don't want one on a Sunday? Apart from Shootash, are there any others in the area on Saturdays? Thanks xx
Jillyanne Posted 17 April, 2009 Share Posted 17 April, 2009 Stu - if you really want to sell to the Polish - deffo Bursledon although they tend to pick your stuff up and say "how much", you then tell them and they literally give you a couple of quid less then f&ck off. I have no experience of this but my mate does them every Sunday and for this reason has moved pitch.

J Bizzle Posted 17 April, 2009 Share Posted 17 April, 2009 Shootash one is pretty big. Only thing is you need to get there at about 0600 if you're setting up a stall.

Rattlehead Posted 19 April, 2009 Share Posted 19 April, 2009 Surely you are not suggesting that only Pikeys and Polish people attend car boot sales ;-) It is true that only pikeys attend, including as sellers. Pikeys, gyppos and cackers only are involved in car boot sales. Would be interested to find out how many pound coins SRS has raised though. Deppo Posted 19 April, 2009 Share Posted 19 April, 2009 Cackers. I don't like you, Rattlehead, but the fairest of play for using that word.

My f*cking life, there are some seriously weird people in the world though.... and seriously pikey ones too!

St Landrew Posted 20 April, 2009 Share Posted 20 April, 2009 Deary me, I don't know whether to laugh or be appalled with some of your attitudes. On one hand you bemoan your lot, and then the other to refer to people who may see an eye for a bargain as pikey's and polish. There's no shame in this. There's a industry of this all around in every field of buying and selling. For example, it's the reason why you can buy a second hand car. And antique and furniture dealers are always on the look out. And btw no, I haven't been to a car boot sale, but if I wanted to, I would.

richie Posted 21 April, 2009 Share Posted 21 April, 2009 I've done a few. Its true its all pikeys and poles. I do the one at the Kassam stadium carpark in Oxford. (my local) The poles never agree a price, they just give you want they want to and they're off!! I made £130 pounds once. If you have decent stuff its worth it. Plus people rummage through your car before you've even put your pitch up! Its a right bun fight!
richie Posted 21 April, 2009 Share Posted 21 April, 2009 ps Blackbushe Sunday market is worth a look (though its not a car boot sale as such) Its huge.
