Basically it is Mary Rose sauce,Mayo, tomato puree/sauce,lemon juice,Worcester sauce, blended together.

Just add Red,Green and Yellow peppers, cut Brunois style.

Yes i like it and it should be served with Crudities.

Well thats how i was taught...HTH.

I once invented a sauce which was effectively mayonaise and tomato sauce mixed together. I called it Pink Paste and was going to patent it until someone told me that it was effectively just Thousand Island dressing, which already existed!

Twas the most popular of the sauces (aside from Mayo) on the salad cart in the Harvester when I worked there age 16.

Wrong - Marie Rose sauce, brilliant for prawn c&cktails. (add a squeeze of lemon)

We need a cookery forum.

I thought it was Marie Rose, not Mary Rose :smt102

You are of course correct,i used the "mary" ,ever since a particular well known chef i worked for made this error on a menu,he was mocked by many at rather large and prestigous eaterie.

Brought back good memories.
