Forest Allocation

Agree with that. I think someone that has been to 10 home games and 10 away throughout the season should be more entitled to an AWAY ticket than someone that has been to pretty much every home game, for instance 20 of them.

But whats the difference if you have supported Saints over twenty games,be it ten home and ten away,or just all home?

Surely you would only go to the away games if you had enough time, money etc.If you didnt have either of these,it doesnt make you any less of a fan does it?

For what its worth,i think you have a good point. But in this instance im happy that ST holders have been rewarded.

Well being a season ticket holder and having missed only a handful of away games this season, I've got my ticket already. But I think say, living in Southampton and going to 20 home games, is not as good as living in Southampton and doing 10 home and 10 away. It's much more effort going to Barnsley, Blackpool, Sheffield, Preston, Burnley etc.

Very possibly THE most ridiculous argument I've ever read. And I think you know it. Hence the multiple 'Tough sh*ts'

Why do you keep referring to football fans as customers? When someone asks you who you support do you say 'O I'm a Southampton customer.' Of course you f*cking don't. Because although that may be the case its not the reason we go to football. We go to support the team! Not the f*cking bank balance. Its true that STH give more money to the club than the IMO more diehard who go to 15 home games and 15 away (my situation). I live in Epsom (about 70 miles away) and have Saturday school and although I have tried having a ST (last season) it just doesnt work as I can only make somewhere like 15 games. A waste of money for me personally (and before you say it, yes I prioritise my finances over that of my football club). So having made the trips to support the team at Doncaster, Derby, Cardiff, Swansea etc, isn't it fair I get to support them at the most important away game of the season. But thats not really the point and I hate 'I'm a better fan than you arguments' just the same as everyone else.

So anyway, back to the point. Away fans give their support. Valuable support that earns the teams points. So as you say we would already be relegated if it wasn't for the STHs, but its not unfair to say we probably would already relegated if it wasn't for our away fans. x

Yes, after season ticket holders have had first shout.

I used to say the same thing when i travelled down every other week.

You are a better fan than most doing what you do and having done it myself i know how expensive and life controlling the comitment is.

I'd never go back to doing it again mainly due to the long drive up and down the A43/A34.

im a st holder and think the club should give priority to people who travel away before season ticket holders. IT is wrong that we have people who dont go away all season now we have a big game want to show up. It is always the same faces at away games so why now should it be any different.

"Under normal circumstances we would look to reward regular away travellers with the first allocation.

HOWEVER, due to the late arrival of the tickets, and the fact that we MUST sell these tickets quickly in order to secure the second allocation, this cannot be done"

There's your answer.

People are still not getting the fact that we ARE customers of SFC when it comes to puchasing tickets. If we weren't then we wouldn't be going out of BUSINESS.

It's no surprise that the people that are kicking off are the ones who might miss out.

Oh, just incase anyone says, I have been to more than enough away games to qualify in the uberfan category and get a ticket based on away matches.

You hate it, and yet you call yourself 'more diehard' than Season ticket holders. Away support doesn't win us any points kid. We took thousands to Blackburn a few years ago and the support was great, but it made **** all difference, we lost 3-0. With an extra 2000 odd more tickets coming in the next allocation, I'm sure you get a ticket anyway so stop ****ing moaning.

By the way, my tickets arrived in the post today!:finga:

Cool, hopefully mine will do too then!

Regarding the current debate of who deserves a ticket more.

At the end of the day STH's are the life & soul of the football club. If it wasn't for the STH's there would be no club. I do feel sympathy for those who don't have ST's but go to a lot of away games because they live further away from Southampton but in these circumstances the club have explained why they are being sold straight to STH's and its fair doo's imo. Normally they don't do a bad job of giving priority to those who have been to more away games.

I'm sure we'll get the 2nd allocation anyway which will amount to a maximum of 4300 tickets as Mr Luker told me yesterday so I'm sure anybody who wants them that badly will get one.

I'm only a member (only missed one or 2 home games all season tho, been to 5 away, dunno why im telling you this..)..

BUT I used the online thingy to get my burnley tickets, and it was letting me buy as many forest tickets as I wanted, so if you want a ticket I suggest you all get on there and buy buy buy! Obv havnt got the restrictions in place properly. I havnt got mine yet as I dont know what mates will go with me yet...

Someone else I know has tried this. It takes you through the whole buying process apparently, then as you get to press buy it says something like you're not allowed to buy tickets for this game yet.

I have no problem with St holders getting first bite of the cherry but the idea that members are next in line -and membership simply entails paying a few quid and no extra commitment is pretty dubious.

Of course, many members end up going to all matches -and fair play to them (as they pay full face value for a ticket, they probably put more into the club than ST holders), but the current allocation makes no such distinction. In the past, the club has always tied allocations to aways games attended, so it obvously accepts the argument, so why change things now, esp as no delay would have been caused.

All has nothing to do with who's the better fan -everybody supports the club in his own way and it doesnt stop people feeling the same emotions between, during and after matches- but allocation is scarce and priorities have to be made.

The sale of tickets would have been much slower had it been restricted to a ST and a number of away agmes, then a lower bracket of away games on several different days. As the club stated on the OS they HAD to sell these tickets as fast as possible to enable the next allocation and ST holders first is the quickest way of doing this.

Would it be fair if when the next batch arrives (assuming it does arrive) then STs and Members can both go for them (one per ST or Membership). Looks like the take up from STs is pretty good so far, so there could well be more demand from STs plus probably a fair bit from Members. Guessing there won't be a general sale.

Once the ticket office gets the next batch I can see them continuing down the same path of STHs until wednesday 22nd then members until 27th for general sale, as they have no sale deadline.

In what way? If those on the database with X amount of away games were given a chance to buy tickets, say, from tomorrow, that would mean new demand, in addition to ST holders. At the moment, demand is being restricted, slowing the sell of tickets.

The idea of a membership is to gain priority for tickets over those who aren't season ticket holders.

I hate all these debates anyway. I am a self confessed rubbish fan. But I'll be at Forest, I'll promise you. Because its just down the road. I would be going to that game regardless of whether it meant promotion, relegation or nothing at all.

As promised, I've got my ticket and there is no way I qualify as an uberfan by any of the convoluted descriptions put up in this debate.

At the end of the day all the rules in the world can't stop someone who knows someone who knows someone with a ST buying a ticket for them.

Can't wait, got a brilliant Hotel to stay in as well....

Why did Stanley start posting again briefly yesterday only to go back to banned status without posting anything overly contentious?

That's a private matter.

Back to the thread.

I'm not far from Notts and know my way round pretty well. If you're driving in the best way is to turn off the M1 at J24.

Follow the A453 to Clifton Boulevard (A52). Go straight over following the B679 (towards west bridgeford), poodle along down there and join the A60 and you're there (this is the road that goes over Trent bridge). Forest is this side of Trent Bridge, Notts County is the other side.

Parking in Nottingham is notoriously bad and expensive. There is no free parking anywhere.

The best bet is to head for the Park and Ride site at Queens Drive (closest to the M1)

and get the Citylink 1 bus into the centre. Parking is £4 and covers 6 people

to and from the centre. The journey takes about 20 minutes into the centre.

The City ground is a brisk 20 minute walk from Old Market Square.

The Citylink bus also picks up and drops off at the Railway station, which is about a 10 minute walk to the City ground.

Picked up tickets for London Saints this morning, approx 600 left.

Also although Saints have repeatedly requested the extra allocation Forest will not make a decision on whether we'll get the extra tickets until monday (obviously waiting to see how weekends results effect the situation), sop we may end up with only the inital allocation.

if they don't give us the extras I think there will be a made scramble toget remaining tickets.

I'm sure there's street parking round by Meadow Lane, but i don't think i'd recomend this for this fixture for those dressed up like deckchairs (we might win and it'd be foolish to parade yourself in this area).

Like all grounds there's the usual £5 footie car parks dotted about. Arrive early and there's no problem finding them as a rule.

There is indeed street parking by Meadow Lane - we parked there for the Mickey Evans extravaganza and also, as you mention, came a bit unstuck - we weren't even dressed as deckchairs. Had the last laugh though.

There is very limited on-street parking, however most of it in Nottingham is now on meters. Not sure of the area out towards Meadow Lane and Trent Bridge however, but when the council are in the process of attempting to tax people parking at work, it wouldn't surprise me if this is all on meters now.

There are a number of car parks in the centre and near the station which can be used, however will cost more than the park and ride. Buses from there are every 7 minutes now so is a regular, efficient service.

You're also right about the normal 'Footie' car parks that spring up on match day, Stanley, though for people heading into the centre for a drink before hand, I would go for the park and ride first.

The trouble with park and rides is that it could take ages to get on a bs after the game and you're gonna be crammed in like sardines. Personally i couldn't be arsed with the hassle and would rather park up near the ground and then get back to my car straight after the game.

I don't think there's any need to wait for tomorrow's result. You could have sold half of the next batch before tomorrow's game had even kicked off, there's enough people planning weekenders who aren't bothered about tomorrow's result.

Saints now there is enough demand for extra allocation, it's Forest who are stalling and maybe trying to restrict our numbers, and give more tickets to thier fans for this vital game

Is there any parking at the ground?

To save me replying to your PM, the Blue Badge (disabled) parking at the ground is bookable in advance at £5 per vehicle. You are advised to get in at least an hour before KO, meaning an even earlier start!

Call Alan Bexham, their Safety Officer, on 0115 982 4390, he's a busy man so be patient. As you'd expect it's limited and first come first served.

Just bought tickets for me and 3 other mates who are season ticket holders. After reading through this thread I was starting to worry that if I left it any longer I may not be able to get any.

Obviously Forest would want to give priority to their own fans, but if they have not started selling to home fans in this part of the ground, and we have asked for more tickets, surely they can't deny us the extra allocation? as they are required to give away fans at least 10% of capacity or 3,000 tickets.
