Why no message from the FOOTBALL CLUB board in the matchday programme?

There was an update from the administrator of Southampton Leisure Holdings but no article from either David Jones or Ken Tointon from the Football Club board in yesterday's matchday programme.

Why not?

Either the Football Club is a separate going concern to the PLC or it isn't....

I think you'll find that the organ grinders have gone and we are only left with the monkeys !!!!

I think you'll find that the 2 man "football club board" knows surprisingly little about football. It would be like me writing about Sloths or Butterflies;

Since when has David Jones ever bothered himself with the minor detail that we are a football club ?

Does he even go to any matches ?

I'd like to know why he didnt quit with Lowe; his culpability for our predicament stands out like a sore thumb.

Have I missed something, who is Ken Tointon?

Nobody knows, must be some bloke appointed by someone to be on the FC board with Dave Jones. Some sort of Independent Financial Advisor or other.

wallah from Southend, looks like his daughter might be a soap star.

Thought Martin Fry said a lot about nothing when it could have been precis down to 5 words:

Not much we can say

or

It's too early to say

or

we go about our job

To busy dealing with calls from those desperate to be in the loop like Stephen Godwin, alledgedly.

Isn't he the guy out of Spandau Ballet ???

Looking in Google he is head of some accountancy outfit in Chelmsford, hopefully not connected in any way to the Administrators. Also appears to be father of some minor soap celeb who I have never heard of called Kara

Not clear why we need another accountant on the FC Board, would have seemed more sensible to have someone who knew something about football, but perhaps that is too obvious.

Thanks for pointing out my error btw. I guess I have been listening to much to the happening beats on Radio Solent and got my Administrators and 80's front men mixed up. Mark Fry does have a touch of the new romantics about him or like a lot of accountants are secret Gary Numan fans who live with their Mums or least that is what I am led to believe about a certain high profile poster.

Its not my alledged hero I'm worried about, it's the club and I was just in the minority of fans who post on this forum who actually believed Lowe was actually what was needed. A hard nosed arrogant businessman who would be prepared to upset a few for the greater good of the club - it's survival. A desperate solution and in desperate times and had there been a viable alternative to the carrot dangler then I would have taken it. Fact remains if we had averaged 20k as we did and more in the previous and equally poor season then we would be celebrating another successful survival campaign!

He is/was based in the same building as the administrators in Southend, so it's fair to assume that there is some kind of link.

I was being flippant 19c, hence the :) !

I really don't want to go back down the Lowe road and in future I will use the word 'alleged' before 'hero' !

Do you? :D

I go at every opportunity that presents itself. You know damn well I live abroad.

David Jones is a paid official of the club. Its a bit different, and you bloody well know it.

Take your trolling elsewhere

And there was me thinking that the problem was down to the idiot of a Chairman replacing a good manager with a totally untried experimental system which has completely failed.

Survival on the pitch or boardroom and shareholding?

Have I missed something, who is Ken Tointon?

At the first press conference that the Administrator (Mark Fry) held at SMS a journalist asked him if Lowe an Wilde were still on the Football Club board to which Fry said, "No, they've resigned from both the PLC and Football Club boards".

The journalist then asked, "OK, so who is now on the football club board?". To which Mark Fry responded, "David Jones and Kenneth Tointon".

(Note: the latter's name was muffled and unclear but someone came up with Ken Tointon as best guess. Mr Tointon just happens to work out of the same building in Southend as the Administrators for Southampton Leisure Holdings...)

I still don't understand why the Football Club board isn't in "business as usual" mode for day-to-day activities such as writing chairman's notes in the matchday programme.

Thanks, bit of a concern that there is this closeness between the Administrators running the plc, and the people running the Football Club. Given the FL investigation, I would feel more comfortable if this difference was as great as possible, this seems to me to muddy the waters somewhat.
