saint_stevo Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 Doesn't make for good reading, can our 'kids' contend in a physical battle? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/cardiff_city/7995400.stm "It was brutal...... it was a grind, it was a horrible game to be involved in.......The game was absolutely horrible......an unbelievably physical game" No thought not......
Saints foreva Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 They wasn't a great side when they beat us 3-0, they just bullied our team.
saint_stevo Posted 11 April, 2009 Author Posted 11 April, 2009 They wasn't a great side when they beat us 3-0, they just bullied our team. I recall us making Shefki 'the lump' Kuqi look good
Lets B Avenue Posted 12 April, 2009 Posted 12 April, 2009 I'm looking forward to the scrap. Between Wotte and Warnock. Probably more exciting than the footy.

Saejis and Perry will be ok, Skacel will fall over a lot and feign injury and Palace will exploit that and James will either have a great game or get shirty and be sent off. Our midfield without Gillett though could be the proverbial butter to their hot knife. We need BWP to start up front with McG as Saga will simply disappear if he plays. If they score first we're toast.

If Crystal Palace is really a dirty long ball team, then Euell, Size, Wotton would love to play that kind of game that is what they are supposed to be good.

rallyboy Posted 12 April, 2009 Posted 12 April, 2009 I would rather the team went down fighting in a red card kickfest than paraded around like sensitive nancy boys. And if Wotte cares enough to get into fisticuffs with their bench I will regard that as one of his most positive actions. If Palace want to be physical, let battle commence - unleash our poodles!
eurosaint Posted 12 April, 2009 Posted 12 April, 2009 The perfect sort of game for Ryan (Bambi) Smith then ??
lordswoodsaints Posted 12 April, 2009 Posted 12 April, 2009 i think i would start with bwp and euell upfront, saga has done ok but seems a bit slow of the mark in the last few games.

Really don't think it makes any difference unless we get some creativity in midfield. Surman seems to have done his usual 2nd half of the season Sunday League style drop in performance. Lallana has done nothing since September. Smith blows hot and freezing. Wotton is an old carthorse and Schneiderlin is the biggest waste of money since Jelle Van Damme.
Saint_clark Posted 12 April, 2009 Posted 12 April, 2009 Hopefully we'll have a ref that won't stand for that kind of thing. Anyone who saw the Championship this morning will agree, the ref who was on the Cardiff V Palace game was a disgrace. Blatant elbow in the face right in front of him.

Anyone who saw the Championship this morning will agree, the ref who was on the Cardiff V Palace game was a disgrace. Blatant elbow in the face right in front of him. Then we haven't got a hope. I haven't yet seen this team grind out a result against bully boys. Not that I think they should have to, far from it, but I still haven't seen it.

oxfordshire_saint Posted 12 April, 2009 Posted 12 April, 2009 They've got their fair share of kids too, could get equally intimidated if the likes of Saeijs and Wotton fancy putting it about.
SoccerMom Posted 12 April, 2009 Posted 12 April, 2009 Defender was left in Hospital coughing up blood. Not even a yellow given. Going to be tough. Oh, great. Tell you what, if it was me up against them, I'd let them have the ball as well!! The Respect Campaign is a wonderful ideal, but frankly you have to give everyone something to respect. If you let physical aggression go unpunished (like it did last week against Charlton, I might add) then what's to respect?
