saintstr1 Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 I know that niether of them will ever make a decent manager but I actually prefered the way we played under JP , obviously we were no better results wise but at least we played some half decent passing football earlier in the season and always looked interested. Wottes Team today had absolutely nothing to commend them from the first to the last minute , I have seen better prepared sunday league teams. What a huge disgracefull joke SFC has become.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 I don't remember much entertaining football in the latter stages of Jan Poortvleit's tenure (at least at St Marys) and it would seem Mr Wotte's services are unlikely to be required after the end of this season either . One can only hope that should the club survive to see next season our new owners will be blessed with enough common sense to see that appointing a experienced manager with a solid record of achievement in and knowledge of British football would be a essential requirement for next season in League 1 .
Baird of the land Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Agree with you. Jan's team tried to play a certain way and when it worked like against reading it was a joy to behold. Results haven't improved & i despaired watching the way we played today.
RobM Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 It's a shame we never got the chance to see JP's style of football with the same players Wotte has available. The passing game with the likes of Skacel, Sagga and Euell in the team for experience could have been much more effective.
SoccerMom Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 The title of this thread reads like the text of my favourite "Get Fuzzy" cartoon: Satchel: "I know this is a weird question, but who do you think would win in a fight between Michael Bolton and Kenny G?" Bucky: "We all would, Satchel, we all would."
trousers Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Differences? They worked together as a seamless team. Didn't anyone notice? The boardroom banged on about it enough times.....
