Guided Missile Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Mark Fry, can you confirm that neither you nor any associates will be paid billable hours and expenses to sit through the game at Molineux? I'm all for you trying to recoup all you can for the creditors, but while the long-suffering fans paid for their tickets and travel expenses, I'm pretty sure they will not be too happy throwing more money at the club, if you billed five grand or so to Southampton Leisure Holdings plc for attending that comedy show and the free after match ****tails.
Griffo Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Would Rupert have been there when he was chairman? Not a chance. Fair play to him for showing up tbh.
bridge too far Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 I wonder if Mr Fry will cancel his contract, realising that there's no way in a million years he could sell that load of **** in a million years as a football team?

Fair point. No doubt Mr Fry and his company will be going about their business in a completely transparent manner and will thus be publishing their expenses on a regular basis....
saintstr1 Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 I totally agree with GM , surely his time should have been spent interviewing prospective buyers or has he already sold the club?
um pahars Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 To be fair if you're not a fan then I would want to get paid to watch that sht.
eelpie Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Mark Fry was doing his job. Whether paid for today's outing or not we may be fortunate to have an administrator who is interested in the football side of his job. He would have seen what has gone wrong with our club. Decent players who were promoted too soon from the ranks. Senior professionals (excepting Size and Kelvin) not up to the job. A manager out of his depth. And a tremendous fan-base. We are the club's biggest asset. And he was there to see it.
alpine_saint Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 What if he had another meeting with prospective buyers (who came to see the team) just before the match ?

Nonsense GM. If you wanted to sell your company you would expect your agents to be putting on a good show publicly and doing a bit of gladhanding. Not squirreled in offices.
Redondo Saint Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 What if he had another meeting with prospective buyers (who came to see the team) just before the match ? let's hope this was not the case!
RobM Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Nonsense GM. If you wanted to sell your company you would expect your agents to be putting on a good show publicly and doing a bit of gladhanding. Not squirreled in offices. Not only this, but you would expect the person doing the selling to know what they are selling. How can you sell a football club if you don't watch them play? Imagine how it would look to a prospective buyer if they started talking about todays game and Fry sat there not knowing what to say? I expect to see Fry and Co. at home and away games, talking to fans, talking to the players, talking to everyone involved in the club to get the best possible idea of what he is dealing with and what the club and company needs. Stupid thread.
Window Cleaner Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Let's hope it's not double time for bank holidays then.
ottery st mary Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 I totally agree with GM , surely his time should have been spent interviewing prospective buyers or has he already sold the club? Club sold to Wolves as a lower league side nursery.
Guided Missile Posted 10 April, 2009 Author Posted 10 April, 2009 Not only this, but you would expect the person doing the selling to know what they are selling. How can you sell a football club if you don't watch them play? Imagine how it would look to a prospective buyer if they started talking about todays game and Fry sat there not knowing what to say? Don't be a pr! ck. It was on Sky, FFS. He just had to switch his plasma on, as could the dozens of buyers..chuckle....chuckle. According to David Luker, the club can't even afford to fix their franking machine to send out tickets at the moment and this jackal travels to Wolverhampton, with an assistant to feast on the carcass of our club. If someone pays him £10 to burn all the team shirts and it's the highest offer, he'll take it. He's not working for the benefit fans or the club, FFS, he's working for the b(w)ankers who pulled the plug on our life support machine. You might roll the red carpet out, and provide a chaffeur, but I'd prefer to question every pound he bills....
The Farmer Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Not like you to post petty, pointless posts JM.

Thats life, first of all you get the pigs feeding at the trough then when the pigs die you get the vultures come in to pick over the carcase. Wow brings back memories to see both the Farmer and Guided missile posting in the same thread..
AwaySaint1 Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 According to David Luker, the club can't even afford to fix their franking machine to send out tickets at the moment. I know of a photocopier engineer/salesman who could fix a franking machine.
The Farmer Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Wow brings back memories to see both the Farmer and Guided missile posting in the same thread.. I'm off to the pub before the lock ;o)
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 For too long Too many associated to the club are in it for themselves(financially), the administrator is simply keeping with that trend
Mowgli Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 What if he had another meeting with prospective buyers (who came to see the team) just before the match ? A sensible comment on an otherwise bizzarely paranoid thread!
Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 What if he had another meeting with prospective buyers (who came to see the team) just before the match ? He didn't, we met him at Warwick services and again as he pulled into the ground at 3.00
bridge too far Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 He didn't, we met him at Warwick services and again as he pulled into the ground at 3.00 Maybe he met someone afterwards?
Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Maybe he met someone afterwards? and maybe he didn't .....
AwaySaint1 Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Maybe he met someone afterwards? He would not have had time,it would of taken him 3 hours after the match to complete his daily expenses form.
Amesbury Saint Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Maybe he met someone afterwards? far too sensible!
Micky Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Maybe he's meeting someone tomorrow... or the next day maybe..... Shhhheeesssshhhhhhh....
SFC Forever Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 It's his punishment for failing to sell us. He has to watch till we ae sold.
ooh it's a corner Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 and there i was thinking the administrator's job was to secure an ongoing business and make sure that each creditor got the maximum return. So, where does getting involved come in? What the frig was this guy doing at a football match? bugger off and do your job

ooh it's a corner Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 if we were a factory, dont you think he would look at the production line? NO. It's not his job. The buyer's job is to watch, not the effing administrator's. his job is to secure as much cash as possible to those folks who are going to lose some money.

Perhaps he had been in a local loft helping to mend a certain scanner.
niceandfriendly Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 Interesting one. I don't think GM's post is as stupid as some people think. when I saw Fry pop up on Sky my first thought was "what the **** is he doing there?". But some people here have made some valid points with regards to him needing to know a little bit about what he is supposed to be selling. Or like someone said he could have been on his way to a meeting - although surely they'd occur in Southampton?? I don't know.
Weston Super Saint Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 He didn't, we met him at Warwick services and again as he pulled into the ground at 3.00 This is a good sign. He drove his car so didn't charter a plane = less expenses claimed...

Very good point and judging by comments from Sold to the Man @ The Bar is really an abuse of his tenuous position. Provided he doesn't make any claim and everything else was paid for by Wolves then I guess it's ok but really he could have wtached the game on TV if his argument is that needs to understand the assets teh club has ar its disposal. Thankfully, they have the the pointless reminisce fest on Thursday night to help pay his expenses regardless of the questions hanging over his appearance today.

Surely he's just an innocent victim of circumstance isn't he? After all, he didn't ask for Saints to be put into administration did he? AND he was appointed by.........

eelpie Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 I totally agree with GM , surely his time should have been spent interviewing prospective buyers or has he already sold the club? If he showed no interest in Saints as a football club there would be howls of protests. I suppose you would prefer that the administrator was another Dr Beeching. And how do you know that his presence at the game was not connected with interviewing prospective buyers and selling the club?
dubai_phil Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 Saints fans in shock that the Administrator may charge massive fees for doing his job without anybody having the ability to question him..... Basically, as other threads have pointed out, of course Fry will be charging for his time, his role is to get the best deal for the creditors but also to ensure that his employers make a return - thanks to the mess of the economy, this is gravy train time for the liquidators. auctioneers, dodgy dealers and of course lawyers and accountants involved with sick companies. Sure it's "morally wrong" but hey - bit late now to start to complain about what happens to us when we are in Admin - get used to it peeps, it will get worse before it gets better, poor old Bournemouth got drained of 500k - did anyone REALLY think we would be paying less than that? Lowe was the devil incarnate is the view, but this could get very much worse before it is all over.... (and yes maybe it could get better...) (and yes maybe we'll stay up.....) (and yes maybe the team will have had enough kicks up the a**s to wake up and play proper football before the end of the season) (and yes maybe Lucy Pinder wants to have a night in at home with me.....)
Stepgar Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 Stupid thread. Utterly pointless. Why post on it then, surley a waste of your time?
exit2 Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 is it really a problem he was there? I personally dont think. He is currently representing our club whether we like it or not. Yes there is the issue that was his travel time etc booked down, but like above how do we not know that a propective buyer was there? I would almost bet anyone that a "buyer" was there so Mark Fry should be also.
Weston Super Saint Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 I doubt we should get too hung up on how much he is paid. Losing Rupert's salary from the books should easily cover the fees and then some
