melanie Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 I live in Switzerland, but am Durrington born and bred and that is where I am based when I fly back for matches!
Amesbury Saint Posted 10 April, 2009 Author Posted 10 April, 2009 I live in Switzerland, but am Durrington born and bred and that is where I am based when I fly back for matches! How often do you come back for matches?
ottery st mary Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 I remember coming back from working in London a couple of years back along the A303 and near the roundabout being directed on detour into Amesbury... re roadworks...I must have spent the next two hours and three or four tours of Amesbury trying to find my way South West.... After this close and intimate encounter with Boscombe Down and Amesbury...I would be considered a local/yokel wurzel boy....
The Fat Controller Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 I used to be Pewsey based but now Aldbourne
Rattlehead Posted 10 April, 2009 Posted 10 April, 2009 How often do you come back for matches? Just ask her to post a picture mate, no point asking all these questions until you know whether it might be worthwhile.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 Are there many of us? Anyone interested in trying to form a supporters group? Please pm me. Amesbury rocks! Count me in, although the last time I visited Stonehenge, Dave Brock and the boys were playing Hurry on Sundown as the sun came up. As we seem a rare breed in the area shall we meet at Cholderton?
Viking Warrior Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 I used to live in Winterbourne Gunner -does that count?
David Strover Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 I used to live in East Dean and played football for West Dean and we played football against teams from Amesbury, Durrington, Bulford, Stonehenge, Porton, Winterslow, et al.....can I join?
Amesbury Saint Posted 11 April, 2009 Author Posted 11 April, 2009 I was hoping to find people who still lived in the area rather than the only connection is that they sat in the A303 traffic queue near Stonehenge
eelpie Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 If you called the group Bulford Amesbury & Durrington you could be BAD Saints. You just need three more places one beginning with A and two beginning with S and you could be BAD ASS Saints. Salisbury and Sarum?

Bwanamakubwa Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 I live in Switzerland, but am Durrington born and bred and that is where I am based when I fly back for matches! And Mel, why did you kill Durrington Saint? You all grown up now you are living in the land of watches and chocolate?
Amesbury Saint Posted 11 April, 2009 Author Posted 11 April, 2009 Salisbury and Sarum? I was going to exclude Salisbury. Trying to limit it to the immediate Amesbury area.

ALWAYS_SFC Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 3 from here + 3 others I know and about 150 who either lived, drove through or have some loose connection to Amesbury It will be a cheap round in the pub then;)
David Strover Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 Many year ago when I played for The Avon Brewery we used to play against The New Inn from Amesbury and I'm absolutely sure they all were Saints fans. I wonder if any of them are on here?
dubai_phil Posted 11 April, 2009 Posted 11 April, 2009 Blimey I might have almost been a neighbour of Draganov. I allegedly twice flew solo over Stonehenge - once in an airplane........ ah the piles of rubbish after 19C and the gang moved on every mid June.... Was in Bulford for a while, the ex wife now lives in Amesbury so no, won't be coming back for the meetings......
melanie Posted 13 April, 2009 Posted 13 April, 2009 How often do you come back for matches? I come back to UK about once a month, and will go to a match if there's one near home that weekend. However, all my friends keep getting married at the moment on Saturday's, so I have to go to weddings when I am back! Very selfish of them! I was DurringtonSaint on the old Saintsforever forum actually.
melanie Posted 13 April, 2009 Posted 13 April, 2009 And Mel, why did you kill Durrington Saint? You all grown up now you are living in the land of watches and chocolate? Haha, I actually forgot I used to be Durringtonsaint until you reminded me! Match was great today. I really should come back more. I'll go to a few matches as season so I'd like to be in your supporters group please.

eurosaint Posted 14 April, 2009 Posted 14 April, 2009 (edited) I've never heard of Amesbury ! Edited 14 April, 2009 by eurosaint I've never heard OF Amesbury (sorry!)
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 14 April, 2009 Posted 14 April, 2009 I've never heard Amesbury ! What a sheltered life you have lead
Arcadian Posted 14 April, 2009 Posted 14 April, 2009 What a sheltered life you have lead Never to know the joys of the Greyhound or the Sticky Carpet...
dubai_phil Posted 14 April, 2009 Posted 14 April, 2009 I've never heard Amesbury ! Good grief that's impossible - why Amesbury's even been on Top Gear! Could be argued though that you are one of the lucky ones......
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 14 April, 2009 Posted 14 April, 2009 Good grief that's impossible - why Amesbury's even been on Top Gear! Could be argued though that you are one of the lucky ones...... Steady on!! I reckon you are just jealous that you have to reside in miserable dubai instead of the great town that is Amesbury:D
waggy Posted 14 April, 2009 Posted 14 April, 2009 I use to frequent the Greyhound and Kings Head public houses in Amesbury when I was a squaddie based in Tidworth in 1975, do I qualify? That was back in then days when you could get transport there and back, absolutely bladdered and a chinese take away and still have change from a fiver, happy dayz.
Amesbury Saint Posted 14 April, 2009 Author Posted 14 April, 2009 I've never heard Amesbury ! Think of Stonehenge and we are 2 miles away.
Amesbury Saint Posted 18 July, 2009 Author Posted 18 July, 2009 bumping back up to the top with the new season just a few weeks away. pm me if you live in the Amesbury area and interested in setting up a Saints supporters group or just meeting up for a pre match beer. Andrew
CalshotSpit Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 Are there many of us? Anyone interested in trying to form a supporters group? Please pm me. Amesbury rocks! I lived at 75 Countess Road for nine years and enjoyed being in Amesbury. Now in Locks Heath, but I still visit the Malet Arms at Newton Tony and always stop in Amesbury for a while on the way back.
chrisobee Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 If you called the group Bulford Amesbury & Durrington you could be BAD Saints. You just need three more places one beginning with A and two beginning with S and you could be BAD ASS Saints. On that basis I think forming a Watford, Amersham, North Herts, Kings Langley, Enfield and Rickmanworth supporters group might not be such a good idea after all
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 I lived in Netheravon once, and was stationed in Tidworth for a few years, but i'm in Dorset now.
