if you go to google maps and go to heathrow, on the diagonal runway, concorde is parked to the side of it.

Think it was moved round the back of BAs maintenance depot a while ago. Very sad sight to se it sat there with bits missing.:(

There are still a few in this country, think the one at the Brooklands museum is the nearest.

I thought there was one at Duxford as well?

The one at Duxford is a pre-production model (Concorde 101) and was a test model only although it's a big attraction. The seven remaining commercial aircraft went to the following:

Heathrow airport.

Manchester airport.

Airbus (UK) Filton Bristol (where they were originally built).

Scotland museum of flight, Edinburgh.

Museum of flight Seattle, USA.

The Intrepid Sea, Air and space museum New York USA.

Grantly Adams airport, Barbados.

According to Meridian News - will be situated next to the QE2 to add to the 'tourist attraction', very sad imho.

Why do you think that? Did anyone complain about the other 3 that were sent overseas?

In a way it is quite fitting to have The QE2 and a Concorde together as many of the cruises on offer over the years involved a Supersonic flight and cruise on The QE2.

What is a crying shame is that they won't be sat together in Southampton whilst a 150 million quids* worth of art sit in storage hardly ever to be seen in public.

Good to see Dubai businesses responding so positively to the adverse press of late. Clearly they are taking every step they can to provide emergency shelter & accomodation for the poor unfortunate construction workers.............

Does that include the French ones? Or did they only have the one that crashed?

Sad that another is leaving the country, but the ones at Filton and Manchester barely get seen by the public. If one of those two were to leave it wouldn't be a huge loss, especially if it is seen by millions of people somewhere else.

You have missed out the very first one at Yeovilton in Somerset

The thing that really makes me laugh about these people and Dubai as a whole is that they have had nothing to do with these Engineering marvels.

Not in the design ,construction ,brand etc etc, They are just buying other country's history which I think is very sad.

I recon the yanks will be keen to offload the wrong London bridge they bought from us.

Coals to Newcastle? I bet they would buy Bournemouth beach if they were told it was genuine British "sea side"!

The concorde at Manchester is having a special hanger built for it next to one of the terminals so that people can go and admire it up close (and in the dry). That's more than any other concorde owner has done!

There was some "enterprising" company a few years back that was selling bottled water from Yorkshire in the UAE for about £20 a pop. I guess it worked for a while.
