Mr X Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 Sorry to post a downer but surely this is the last time we can say it's.......... A MUST WIN GAME! Lose and we must accept the reality of division one surely? agreed? :smt102 On a more positive note I doubt we'll be as bad as saturday, COYR!
Pancake Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 I, personally, accepted League One football after the defeat at the weekend. Tonights result will be meaningless anyway once the FL take 10 points away (under appeal, natch). IMHO.
londonsaint1604 Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 Not necessarily but it will be very likely. The 10 points deduction is more of a concern at the moment.
slickmick Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 I, personally, accepted League One football after the defeat at the weekend. Tonights result will be meaningless anyway once the FL take 10 points away (under appeal, natch). IMHO. Not meaningless yet, avoid being in the bottom three would mean avoiding a hit next season. Still everything to play for. Lets just hope Wotte doesn't play the players that can't handle the pressure.
alpine_saint Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 The writing has been on the wall since we lost to Forest at home, imo.
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 Never over till it's mathematically over. But I have had no hope since before Christmas. We are one of the worst teams in English football.
Mr X Posted 7 April, 2009 Author Posted 7 April, 2009 Still cant believe we let Charlton who have an abysmal away record put three past us. For whatever reason we didnt look like we even wanted to win the game, which is worrying
Whitey Grandad Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 Saturday had the same feeling for me as when we let a two-goal lead slip against Aston Villa. Of course it's still 'all to play for' but will somebody please tell the players.
slickmick Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 My only hope is that we get shot of this stupid diamond out of shape midfield system. 4 4 2 with two wingers that can run at defenders with pace and skill (****** your right, weve had it).
trousers Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 I, personally, accepted League One football after the defeat at the weekend. Unlike Mr Wotte.... MARK Wotte insists Saints’ 3-2 St Mary’s defeat to bottom club Charlton is “not a knockout blow, it’s just a setback.” http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/sai...w__says_Wotte/
Papa Shango Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 I, personally, accepted League One football after the defeat at the weekend. Same here. Still, looking forward to going to Watford tonight, should be a good support!
lordswoodsaints Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 Any point deduction won't come into effect until next season so until the fat lady sings and all that.
Sfc90 Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 Let's face it, However **** Watford are or have been, They've always been our bogey team home and away, we will lose
Channon's Windmill Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 Even if it is all over, fear not as there is plenty of fun still to be had as a Saints fan. This article on F365 is more aimed at Prem clubs going down to the CCC, but its worth a read to cheer you up and make you realise that as long as there is a club to support, we'll be alright! http://www.football365.com/john_nicholson/0,17033,8746_5153906,00.html
Jesus Reigned Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 If we don't win one of the next two then we're done for, if we're not already.
SaintDonkey Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 I thought we were down after Doncaster - we were so bad I really couldn't see any hope. And then that damned Wotte went and gave us all hope again! While it's still possible I still have hope - but I have to admit there won't be much.
