saintgert76 Posted 8 April, 2009 Share Posted 8 April, 2009 Pity there's no gagging clause applied to that ex-employee. or a choking clause?!
Gordon Mockles Posted 8 April, 2009 Share Posted 8 April, 2009 (edited) A guess Phil "it wasn't my fault" I could be wrong but I doubt it. You know that's the only view point he ever has. Equate him to fascist dictators or, as Wes said, Tyrants. Never, EVER wrong! It all went wrong when I left in 2006...what a c o o o o n t ! ! trousers Posted 8 April, 2009 Share Posted 8 April, 2009 (edited) In a statement to Sky News Barclays said: “Southampton Leisure Holdings needed to significantly increase match attendance, sell players and raise further investment. "These objectives were not met by previous management, but we believe these aims are reasonable and will work closely with all parties concerned to help achieve them.” Erm....someone help me out here....Barclays expected a football club (sorry, it's parent company) to significantly increase match attendance AND sell players. Even a simpleton like me can see the dichotomy of that statement. Good grief, one of the main reasons attendances dropped was because of poor performances resulting from having to offload some of our best players. It's a good job the world's economies aren't dependant on bankers maintaining a grip on financial reality....doh... I would venture Lowe has a point when it comes to his banking observations. ottery st mary Posted 8 April, 2009 Share Posted 8 April, 2009 Sorry but i may not like lowe for being an egoistical tyrant but i'd much prefer whoever takes over to act like him than be like the financial dimwits who put this club on the brink of destruction. After Lowe left Burley was given free reign to sign over priced and high wage earners with sole concept that we might sneak into the playoffs and this huge gamble would paid off. IMO you need stability to succeed not reckless ill judged gambling. Give me financial prudence anyday. None of that stability or financial prudence requirement achieved by Rupert then:rolleyes:

SaintBobby Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 I'm not genetically a Lowe-hater, but I thought his performance was lamentable. "My name is Rupert and I went to public school..."...being a line of defence for his unpopularity is lamentable. This man seems totally incapable of beginning a sentence with the words "I think one of the things I did wrong was...." He had ten months to balance the books and failed, whilst also overseeing two changes of manager and a lamentable performance on the football pitch. I think most Saints fans will be more concerned with keeping the club alive and trying to avoid relegation. But I hope to find a few minutes to investigate what processes need to put in train to ensure that Lowe, Wilde et al are disqualified from acting as company directors for any company in the UK, and for a substantial period of time. It won't help Saints now to do this. But it's the right thing to do and might help humanity in general.
