Summers Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 Who's going, when are we getting there, and finally where are we drinking pre-match? I'm going with a mate, and we're getting there as early as poss probs 1 or 2, dependent on trains tube etc... Watford high street has a few decent places, but i'd rather have a pre-match sing song with other sfc fans! ;-p COYR!
scott_saints Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 Going with another 3 on the 3:11 from beastleigh. Probably stop off at the Wetherspoons when we're there, and I know of a few others who will also be heading there.
saints_is_the_south Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 Me & 3 others getting approx 2pm train from Southampton Central. Should be in Watford about half 3/4ish, we'll be heading for "The Moon Under the Water (wetherspoons)" on Watford high street.
lovell1988 Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 There's an away fans pub just round the corner from the stadium, its called The Oddfellow (or something like that). I went to Wolves away at Watford with my housemate because he needed somebody to go with and that pub was packed with Wolves fans
lovell1988 Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 http://www.footballgroundguide.com/watford/#Where%20To%20Drink? - Oddfellows and Wetherspoons are listed on here!
NickG Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 not been before and driving - any tips on safe parking, close to pub/ground?
ladysaint Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 Dont park in the hospital car park it used to take hours to get out of it after the game.
saintsforlife7 Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 Train at 11:45 from Soton Central, Oddfellow and Weatherspoons it is, 7 of us going
Summers Posted 6 April, 2009 Author Posted 6 April, 2009 Seems like most are going to Wetherspoons, so i'll be there from about probably 2-3-4 ish, depends how long it takes me to get to Watford from Wycombe, Trains take about 2 hrs cos they want me to go from Wycombe to Marylebone, then to Euston, then Watford high street. Anyone feel like helping me see if i can find a quicker route...? How far's Vicarage road from Watford station, as opposed from Junction and High Street?
saints_is_the_south Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 Train at 11:45 from Soton Central, Oddfellow and Weatherspoons it is, 7 of us going Alright for some! Don't finish work til 1. Cheapest train fare i've found so far is £18.45 return from Soton Central to Watford Junction via Clapham with 4 of us going using group save.
saintalan Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 There is NO parking at the Hospital. The nearest Town Center car park is the Church Car Park at the East end of Vicarage Road inside the Ring Road. There is also parking for £4/£5 pounds at some schools, the only one I have checked is Watford Scoool for Girls off Lady's Close similar placement to Church Car Park.
stevegrant Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 1730 from Wandsworth Common, gets into Watford Junction at 1820... £5.30, bargain

There is also parking for £4/£5 pounds at some schools, the only one I have checked is Watford Scoool for Girls off Lady's Close similar placement to Church Car Park. The one at the girls' school is pretty decent. Get there relatively early though, it does usually fill up fairly quick.

Around 20-25 minutes, but the route is far less obvious. If you do go though: Walk out of the station, down Cassiobury Park Avenue, turn onto Shepherds Road past Watford Boys', turn left onto Rickmansworth Road and cross at the first opportunity at the traffic lights. Turn right onto Harwoods Road (first road) and walk all the way down, past the Tesco Express, all the way down through the wreck that is West Watford. Once you get to the end, you're practically on top of the stadium.

You'll be able to buy tickets in the home end on the door, they definitely won't sell out either.

Cheapest train fare i've found so far is £18.45 return from Soton Central to Watford Junction via Clapham with 4 of us going using group save. Uni end of term so we're all off for three weeks so means all day in the pub. Think we do a groupsave and two railcards and then split the price between all of us so shouldn't work out much more than that either
Appy Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 Half 1 train from andover. Should be in the pub by 3:45/4. Can't wait!!!!!!!.
WESTIE SFC Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 If anyone is looking for 2 tickets, we have 2 spare teen tickets as 2 people have had to pull out. Windmill Arm 2 Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 Watford v Saints: Yet another damp depressing squib coming up, I'm done with excitement its all a fookin waste of time, Saints will kock this up just like they kocked Charlton up. We're down, and most probably ruined as well Good things dont happen to Saints, so why believe investment will come? This club is all but dead. Thankfully my life away from football is a happy one, so I have no plans to top myself. :D

But hey, this maybe be one of the last times I ever get to watch Saints, so as always I'm making the most of it. I'm singing tomorrow night not to cheer the lads on, but purely for my love of this club.
SimonRichards Posted 6 April, 2009 Posted 6 April, 2009 We are bring 2 car loads ( up for this match. Leaving Southampton at 2-3. Weatherspoons seems like a good shout
