We did leave a little bit early, but that's because I don't like to lead a small child through angry crowds.

You were prudent to leave early with a child.

IMO that does not excuse other "Fans" being violent over the score.

Everyone was disapponted, and that's where it should have stayed, at a level of disappointment.

The excersise today should have been merely for the saints fans to simply put on their best, loudest, happiest face for possible investors. it was really that easy to give saints their best chance of survival.

Most fans managed that because we are good fans. Some let us down.

Sure, i understand that lowe and others got us into this mess, but today....especially today....the fans were ALL saints had! The board is gone, only the fans were left, and we let a handful of idiots let us down.

Ottery, please lay off the "Rupert's babes" crap with any poster whose opinion is not identical to yours. It's worn very thin and the man himself is history.

Ruperts Babes crap is my opinion about a fellow poster or posters who come on this forum in support of Rupert time after time. Today blaming fans frustrated the life out of me and in my opinion was a continued veiled attempt to support Rupert..I must admit I always thought you were one of the babes but admit I can't be right everytime( I think I am always right) and therefore will cease to call any of you or my fellow posters Ruperts Babes again...As you say Pontey he is history..thank God....Hope that does not ruffle any more feathers of you boooyzz.:)

As someone said I must look forward and not get frustrated whilst trying to support my fellow fans.:smt049

Can you relegate his account to 'registered user' for a week so he gets bored or something. :D

I haven't seen a single Lowe supporter on this thread but he has 'identified' several. He is either a nutjob or an attention seeking troll.

To the players and manager who forgot to turn up today, hold your heads in shame the fans rallying to pay your wages by donations - well you bloody well give it back to the club like Euell and KD

I felt we could start a roll with the final demise of Lowe, I am just gutted that it seems we can still get worse

Heartbroken, and trust me, the "excellent investment opportunity" that SFC represents as a CCC club will be a REAL hard sell as a L1 club

Alps - for once I'm with you in despair land

I bet none of the players have turned round and said that they'll take a short term pay cut or play for nothing until the end of the season to help out..

To anyone on this board who sees any of the players in the town tonight, get them chucked out, cos they will need all their energy for Tuesday night!!

SFC would be a good investment in the long term, but will initially need a lot of money thrown at it, and also would need about three years min to turn round.

Anyway, I'd look forward to going to play S****horpe, Stockport, Colchester, Huddersfield, and even Yeovil, and if they can survive a local derby with Brighton!

Scroz_Saint

p.s. Well done to everyone who was able to go to the match today. Am looking at going to next Monday's match (will be off shift!) with wife and kids.. COYR

All I care about is surviving. If fans were leaving early because of the way the score was going as i heard on saints TV, well, then we are screwed not because of the incompetence of the team, but by the lack of intelligence and passion of the "Fans" that made up a small percentage of the numbers of real fans today.

Saints would have been better off without a certain idiot section of the fan base that showed the wrong message to potential buyers.

Seems the idiot section of our fan base extends to certain back-water boring US states..

the only ugly scenes I witnessed were when myself and the rest of the Northam abused the twenty Kingsland quitters who jacked it in and gave up on the team, walking out at the 70minute mark.

Yes the performance was woeful but this week is about the club surviving, not three points surrendered, and that's why the players today benefited from far more support than they deserved.

Well done to those that kept the faith despite the team's appalling showing.

We are stuck with a very poor team but new investors can see the potential and that could allow us to rebuild in Lg One.

Keep the faith - and as for those twenty quitters, I don't want you losers in a trench alongside me when things get tough.

The Doomed v The Debt-ridden...with what was probably the day's most predictable outcome really.

The fans were well up for it. Shame the players & the gaffer weren't.

If we had one foot in League 1 before today - we've now stepped into it - up to our waist.

In a season of sooooooo many let-downs & failures - what's another one? Another weekend of misery, disappointment & deflation. I'm used to it all by now. Promise so much. Deliver so little.

Watford away on Tuesday now seems almost insignificant.

Yes, I'm an idiot. Thank you for spotting that. All things being equal, i suppose it is now OK for me to call you a retarded slug without fear of being banned.

What the hell, I'll go for the ban, you asshole.

That's just it. I don't blame the fans at all. I blame a few of them that are too retarded to understand what is going on right now.

Man, I'm a saints fan for 40 years, I get it. ;)

Fans don't dissappear when times get hard...period

Nah, they just piiss off to Yankee-land

Can't believe the result to be fair.

Wotte got it all wrong in my opinion, how did he fail to spot how out of depth thompson was until 20 mins before the end ??

Also missed Gillet massively today, Wotton just has not got the engine.

No width, no bottle in the middle of the park and TBF Euell although he holds the ball up well and wins a few headers is hopeless in front of goal.

I just don't understand really, then we play with 2 strikers in the middle and bring on Ryan Smith who didn't play as bad as usual but he just looks lost and is completely left footed.

I summed him up, my mates dad came for the first time this season and when smith came on i said. 'Smiths coming on, he is hopeless on his left foot'

Dads mate ' really ??'

Me ' yeah, unfortunate really cos he is left footed !'

I really dispair, fair play to the fans though, done their bit.

I would say about 50 people around me walked out at 3-1 with what? 20 odd minutes left and again more still with 10 mins left when it was back to 3-2 madness!

As for the games itself we failed in the midfield department TOTALLY. Nothing going forward and when we inevitably lost the ball no one bothered to track back and get in a tackle, thats GET IN A TACKLE not get goalside and assume thats enough!

Their 2nd and 3rd goals were both top finishes but couldnt help but feel we had ample chances both times to get the ball away had we gone in 100% in the tackles. Both goals we had nearly the whole defence in the box when the ball came in shocking!!

As for scores;

Kelv 8 - Positioning maybe slightly off for the 2nd goal but excellent today as usual this season excellent saves and a penalty save that gave us all hope

Thompson - 7 Thought he got forward well and defensive work seemed to be fairly decent

Saejis - 6 got caught going forward a few times which left us short at the back but NO midfield covering left him open

Perry - 7 Good work in covering the other defenders continually built the much bigger kandol in the air

Skacel - 5 Dived in too often giving them chances didnt get forward much

Wotton - 2 seriously whats the point of this fella?

Lallana - 2 Drifted inside leaving Thompson alone with the marrauding Charlton Left back and left winger , not sure i saw him doing anything going forward deservedly taken off, if you cant hold a position please dont bother turning up on tuesday

Surman - 4 Ok first half but lack of tackling and getting stuck in = him being taken off at a time we needed all our experienced players on the pitch dragging us through!

DMG - 5 Ok first half didnt seem to be doing much 2nd half though raised his game abit once at 3-2 However EXCELLENTfinish today

Saga - 6 Some good play holding up the ball but really a lack of any link to the midfield didnt help him out

Euell - 6 Same as Saga not good support from midfield left him battling 2 or 3 defenders on his own

Subs

BWP - 8 looked interested actually everywhere top finish as well

Smith - 5 lot of the ball didnt do much with it though can anyone in the chapel corner tell me if that tackle on him near the end should have been a penalty?!!?

Liptak - Asub to protect the GD near the end?

What hurts the most about today is that it took until the last 8 or so minutes to really see any passion and desire to win or at least get back in the game, big let down for all the returning fans cant see that many being at the next home match. :-(

It's still not over, but if we can't beat Charlton at home then it is a fair enough question to ask just where are we going to get these points from!!!

Have to say we were very poor all over the pitch and lacked passion, commitment, guts and spirit. Whilst the crowd turned up and were up for it, it would appear the team and Wotte didn't manage to match that enthusiasm.

Tactics didn't look good and once again I don't think the 4-1-2-1-2 formation worked. Wotton sat too deep and McGoldrick is no centre midfielder. Wotte didn't get the formation right and we never managed to outplay a rather poor Charlton side.

Wat was surprising was that our normal rock solid defence looked as thought they hadn't played together. Don't know whether Thomson playing affected them, but Saeijs in particular had a poor game.

Now here's for the player scores.

Davis - 6 - Saved a penatly and some other good saves

Thomson - 1 - I'm not crushing the guy, just saying how I saw it, but he was just out of his depth. the game passed him by

Saeijs - 4 - Not his usual self at all.

Perry - 5 - With Thomson and Saeijs not at the races he suffered.

Skacel - 6 - Seemed as though he was playing on his own at times

Lallana - 4 - Didn't really do anything

Wotton - 4 - As with Lallana and was to deep to really contribute

McGoldrick - 4.5 - Good goal, but nothing else really.

Surman - 4 - The odd forward run, but fairly anonymous

Saga - 5 - Huffed and puffed, a couple of good efforts, a couple of poor efforts

Euell - 5 - Tried to do his, but as with Saga there was no midfield support.

Subs:

BWP - 5 - Actually looked OK

Smith - 4 - Got loads of the ball, but did nothing with it

Liptak - 4 - Not on long enough and only put on upfront.

As for the trouble at the end, bit of a nothing really. There were about 15-20 Charlton giving it large all afternoon (even moving seats just after half time to give a different stand some abuse from behind the netting) who came out only to be met by something like 500+ disappointed Saints fans in the North car park. The police quickly coralled the 15-20 rather worried looking Charlton fans back against the exit gate and then eventually took them back inside for their own safety.

Jeeze, can it get any worse. I feel totally deflated. Having had my hopes lifted by hearing that numerous parties are interested in buying saints and then to be served up that performance.

What has fecking happened to this club?

Beattie and Fuller on the score sheet, great, just make my fecking day why dont you!

Hard pressed to find anything positive to say about that shower of sh*te representing sfc. Of all the days they needed to show up was today, but hey, if the club goes into oblivion they can find another club, we feckin can't.

Hopefully we can get new owners, clear out the deadwood[ plenty of that], and start

again, probably in league 1. The performance was totally shambolic- Davis[ again] and maybe Perry were excellent, the other 9 were virtually non existent. The lack of effort

Lallana and Mcgoldrick in particular put in was mind blowing.

As for next season if we survive as a club, we will be light years behind Charlton on that

performance. We should have been 4-1 down within half an hour, and got what we

deserved totally nothing.

Wotte needs to go. The team preparation was hopeless.

Back down below 20,000 attendance next home match too..

I think today (and the Forest game) can finally put to rest the idea that some have that it's all the fans' fault. A lot of true fans returned again today for obvious reasons and yet again the team didn't appear to be up for it.

(I say this as someone who actually had a ticket but couldn't get to the match for travel reasons and stand to be corrected by those who went)

And ohio_saint sermonises about those who leave early.......

For the record. Alpine is trolling me simply for the fact that I noted his negativity in an early post in the match thread.

I am not so egotistical that I would think I have anything substantial to contribute to this forum, so I will stay out of here.

Not many people talking about specific player performances so here goes...

Davis - Spectacular, saved a penalty and many more to try and keep us in the game. Mis-kicked a few towards the end however as frustration settled in.

Thomson - As we all know, he is not a right back and should never have been played in that position (wonder if Wotte regrets not getting a loan signing now?) Tried his best but didn't get that stuck in.

Perry - Got bullied out of the game by two strong forwards, was outpaced and struggled to win much in the air throughout.

Saeijis - Wreckless at times today with clumsy challenges and conceded a penalty. Bombed forwards a couple of times though and looked promising.

Skacel - IMHO he was sh*te today. Was always found too far forward, leaving massive gaps for the Charlton players to exploit. Seems to have given up already - played for 90 minutes without any heart.

Lallana - Had fewer touches on the ball than a few of the ball boys (ball assistants?) Didn't notice he was even on the pitch until he was subbed.

Wotton - Ditto, except he won a few more headers and took a few legs out. I always worry he will get sent off...

McGoldrick - Took his goal brilliantly and defended well when needed. Didn't see too much of the ball when going forward however as we stupidly stuck to the long ball game til the 85th minute.

Surman - Average. Nothing more. Worked well down the left with Skacel and Euell. Looked tired during second half however which is not something I'd expect after a two week break.

Euell - Okay game for Jason today. All of our play resulted in a long ball to Euell which the opposition found out quite quickly. Blocked Skacel's shot in the second half from going in (?) unfortunately.

Saga - Chased everything. Worked tirelessly for the team today but the ball was rarely played to his feet.

Fans - 10/10 ... The Northam didn't stop singing til Charlton scored and even then it was a short break to shout "b0ll0cks"

Referee - Sh*t, inconsistent and didn't understand the play on rule.

Those that left early demonstrated their dissatisfcation with the team in an entirely passive and legitimate manner.

Those that went into town and started kicking Charlton fans heads in demonstrated their satisifaction in an ugly, aggressive and illegal manner.

Which one do you think potential investors will take more notice of ?

No midfield, no defence and very little threat up front - midfield was surrendered from the off and we played a pointless hoofball game to forwards and wide men who have no first touch or pace ...

IMHO the scoreline flattered us ... and Charlton are no more than a mid-table League 1 outfit

Davis - 8 - Did all he could

Tompson - 0 - ****ing worse then James and that's saying something.

Size - 5 - Worst game for us.

Perry - 7 - Did alright, got battered a bit

Skacel - 6 - Did he play?

Lallana - 5 - Didn't do anything

Surman - 4 - Got affected by all the emotion.

McGoldrick - 6 - Good goal, not great everything else.

Euell - 7 - Ran and Ran and Ran. Not much else, but effort was there.

Saga - 6 - Not great game.

Subs:

BWP - 7 - Changed the game when he came on, should start on Tues

Liptak - N/A - Don't know if he touched the ball.

Smith - 5 - Point in him is?

Players didn't turn up, simple as. For the biggest game of the season, that's a bit worrying. Bad times get even worse. And although i dont think fans leaving early is great, i dont think throwing coins and stuff at them is brilliant either. They paid there money, if they want to go, let them.

Aslong as we get money and can rebuild a decent squad for next season then I can take the hit of relegation.

sadly there is every chance we will have to rebuild in L1 with no money, the remnants of a terrible team, and a 10 point deduction.

If someone offered us financial stability and a mid table finish in L1 next season we would be mad to refuse.

Th current side would do well to get 60 points in L1, which is what we might need next season to avoid the drop to L2.

oh, and today the team was pathetic. they let us down big style.

But they will all get a job next season, if not here, then elsewhere.Although with very bad clubs hopefully.

Wasnt that bad - he's not a full back so harsh to critisise. Wottes fault for picking him rather than the player?

Thought he should have made more of his pace in 1st half as had loads of space on the right and Primus is so slow - should have exploited it!

Bad afternoon all round - but 0/10 he wasnt

Terrible performance from the team - I hope Wotte knows how to give them a f*cking good boll*cking after that. Size had a mare of game. Davis and Perry were fantastic. We had a child at RB - should have put Liptak at CB and Perry in at RB. McGoldrick got totally lost in the game after he scored. Lallana looks SO unfit I think at 49 I could outrun him over 100yds. No decent passing of the ball - no creativity - no breaking to the byline.

Today reminded me of the rubbish we used to see when JP was in charge and confirms to me that Wotte - unfortunately - is not the man for this club and certainly not the man to get us out of League One, because that's where we're headed for certain based on today IMO.
