Sorry matey...I don't give a damn about what Ruperts babes think about the fans.......The fans will not be held to blame by any prospective investor...Most will know the fans are there to be encouraged to return game after game....Rupert and his chorus girls made the fans the scapegoat for a very poorly run business from day one on his return....As soon as I see posters blaming fans who never dare lay the blame where it belongs it shows clearly where their loyalties are. The fans are not the problem today or any other day. RUPERT AND HIS MOB.

Rupert's babes? Fluck off! I hate him just as much as everyone else.

Do you not see the point I am making? I know the board are 100% instrumental in our demise FFS.

Ohhhh right sorry - your right - the fans paid their money - they have the right to leave.

I'm sorry - I was just under the miscontention that this was quite an important game for the club and the fans might, just might, all stay united - no matter what.

I'm not blaming the fans - but you cannot escape the fact that some walked. Will we have full houses at SMS from here on in (as some on here seem to think that we would) - sorry mate, but I very much doubt it.

finances/point penalty aside the relegation battle is NOT over. people have been saying that we're down for weeks now (every time we don't win!) and it's bull****. we win our game in hand and we're only in the relegation zone on goal difference.

Well said.

We are running out of these 'must win' games but it's not as if we totally out of it yet. (obviously) it ain't looking good but it's not certain yet.

We've had a couple of good, freaky results at Wolves in recent years - will need another one. We will be long odds for a win - def worth a few bob as I think we will win up there.

No I haven't been drinking today - praps I'm still p***ed from last night!

I'll shut up and get back to watching basketball... It's the NCAA final four tonight. Exciting stuff ey?

Gutted....

Im not suprised some fans are having a go at Mark Wotte.

see some opf the above post

When I posed the question re now rupes has gone will some of the vocal

minority turn their attention to our manager

I was called What a thick t w a t amongst other things for posing the question . I should have waited till now before my post.

Now is not the time for recrimminations. We are hanging on by a thread but we haven't fallen yet.

The result has ****ed me off, I was going out to celebrate our win but now Im too depressed

Just got home and have to, apparently reading some of the posts of those behind a keyboard, say sorry for the defeat as some feel it is the fans fault.

Every time Wotte or someone at SMS opens there gob and says "the boys are up for it" some of them play like scared rabbits, BUT IT IS THE FANS FAULT.

No width cost us todays game, Thompson and Skacel were always marking two players and left exposed.

Since the goal at WBA has Lallana done anything.

The shape was so wrong we were lucky to only concede 3 without KD it would have been 6

Its over.......pretty much...its a shame the passiona nd feelings for the club can't be transmitted by this sorry bunch of wasters ...........with the exception of KD, the worst side to ever wear the shirt............

Well done to the thousands that turned out to support the club vocally and financially today.............. the players, except KD............goodbye and good riddance........inept journeymen the lot of you!

Here we go yet again. For the past 52 years I, like many other Saints, have suffered the iniquities that make Southampton Football Club what it is. WOTTE it isn't! It never will be if all we can do is put out a team of nonentities who care little for the Club and even less for the Fans. Once we are down (and after today I believe we are) then perhaps we may just start recognising that we are no longer a force to be reckoned with and try to organise a set of players with whom we can identify. I was at Blackpool (couldn't make it today) and we were lucky to draw. The majority of teams in this league are not very good. Charlton are just about as bad as they come yet Saints made them look like they believed in something. Bye Bye for Wotte its worth!!!

Probably some of the same fans who stayed away all season.

I noticed you missed many of the training days for the Ra Ra and Pom Pom

rehearsal....Babe. You really should understand that Rupert will put his hands up soon and explain that the fault lies with him and not a few Saints supporters...But then again he might not.

Would you get it into your thick head that nobody is blaming the fans - we are all aware of the many reasons that we find ourselves where we do.

It may have escaped your notice but this forum has been littered with posts that include words and phrases like 'optimism', 'new dawn', 'fresh start' & many others besides. Today was a day to stand united - no matter what.

It was quickly reported on the radio when that didn't happen - and therefore it will disapoint a lot of people - me included.

I am disappointed with the fans (or those that saw fit to leave, even though as I stated before, that is their perogative) - I am not blaming the fans for anything. Got it now?

Exactly what I would expect Rupert to say about us Saints fans...There in lay the simple answer to a man and his chorus girls who never got to grips with Southampton Football club or an understandind what football meant to

the real people.:smt017

Why do the fans again get the blame....Funnily enough I have heard all this craap from Rupert And his boy Wotte and all the Ra Ra girls...When will groupies learn who caused this shiiite.

Look to the f**king future now not the past. The fans had a job to do and some could have done it better.

It made sense to me at the time, and still does. Pardon my lack of eloquence.

No worries ;)

Perhaps if you had said you don't blame ALL the fans....it would have made some sort of sense.

Frankly it just read like taking out your frustrations...

27000 saints fans, and some of them are numpties.

Where's the surprise?

You seem to think that blame for our situation can be easily attributed to one single source. How often in your life has one single source proved to be the sole contributor to any problem you may have? Real life simply does not work that way!

Mark Fry (administrator) on radio solent being interviewed - pleased with attendance, calling on fans to fill stadium for remaining games. Seems the committment shown by the fans towards the club is a very significant issue towards potential buyers

Welcome to the world of Football Mr Fry - may I be the first to say - sack the admins

What a desperate disappointment. This fookin club keeps finding more and more ways to kick us in the teeth

To the players and manager who forgot to turn up today, hold your heads in shame the fans rallying to pay your wages by donations - well you bloody well give it back to the club like Euell and KD

I felt we could start a roll with the final demise of Lowe, I am just gutted that it seems we can still get worse

Heartbroken, and trust me, the "excellent investment opportunity" that SFC represents as a CCC club will be a REAL hard sell as a L1 club

Alps - for once I'm with you in despair land

R.I.P SFC.

As far as I'm concerned it's all over now. And I've already bought my tickets for the Watford game!

Can we take the 10 point hit this season and at least (if we survive the summer) start with 0 in L1 next season?

We may try to do a deal with the football league, go down quietly and they don't hit us with -10 for next season or something along those lines. Today may have been the first step along that path.

No actually it got worse on re-reading :p

"the fans" and "a few of the fans" are not mutually exclusive groups you see, no matter what you claim afterwards.

Your post just gave me a flashback to maths o level and venn diagrams!

Actually if you read the posts, you'll see that someone DID blame "a few" of the fans. Twice.

It's not acceptable to blame a few of the fans for giving bad rep to the club?

Investors, politicians, anyone in public life gets easily scared of public demonstrations of dissatisfaction, no matter how small of a percentage of interested people are the perpetrators.

Hi Mike 70

I look forward to a fuller report from you.

By the way what did leon and laure have to say?

Fancy meeting up for a drink at the next home game?

Mike

Leon called for total support and appealed for unity, asked people to send donations to SFC by cheque, cash or credit card. Was singing when Lawrie spoke.

Basically the game followed the pattern of most home games this season lots of poession no penetration, as soon as they scored the game was over we cannot chase games at home.

I felt sorry for Thompson he was left totally exposed and JPS picked today , imo to have his worst game for us.

I suppose what sums it up for me was we missed Gillet, who would have thought any Saints supporter would ever say that.

Mathamatically we can survive but anyone who saw that, and bearing in mind we will have to win games and not just hit teams on the break, will say that winning another game this season is going to be difficult

Perhaps someone did - I did, and do, not. I am disappointed at some of them (as I have explained elsewhere) - I do not blame them for our current plight.

Perhaps you could explain that in words of one syllabal to OSM - who seems to be able to understand Ra Ra Skirts (not sure what that is all about - perhaps some sort of fad down his way) but is unable to comprehend fellow fans frustrations...!

What do you expect Phil, Rupert and Mike's team talks were all we had.

Nah, you've gotta laugh really, we're so f*cking useless that it's

hardly believeable. I expected us to win today-until we went into Administration on Thursday, then I fully expected us to lose. We did, point proven.

It was ugly football, for the most part. I do think that the linos could have done more to alert the ref to the aggro taking place off the ball, and I think that the ref was too lenient on the "physical" play - esp the two-footed tackle on Surman (?). Didn't even card the bloke. It never bodes well when there is so much pushing and shoving on the pitch, cause you just know that it's going to happen off the pitch as well.

We did leave a little bit early, but that's because I don't like to lead a small child through angry crowds.

The third Charlton goal looked to me to be down to Jake being out of position, but how can you blame the guy? We haven't had a real RB in the squad since Jesus left. And I'd agree that Gillett was sorely missed.

So Fans being up for it, Rupes gone, Playing a team that are dead and burried, Potential investors watching, 15 supposed interested parties and a strong looking line up by our own standards this season.

And we are pants as we have been the rest of the season. Even games we have won and looked good have required KD to keep us in it. I was optomistic at the beginning of the season thinking that the kids coming through could play without fear and surprise enough teams to see us safe. Now I dont really have any faith in the experience we have in the club to keep things tight and do just enough to not lose.

By the sounds of it Wotte is the new JP and is sticking to his one formation and now even Charlton can sus us out. Doesnt bode well for the remainder games. I just want us to go down fighting now which we didnt sound like we did till about 10 mins to go. :(

On the plus side our form has shown that we cant beat the dross in the leage but we can beat the top of the league so while we fall like a brick we might get to see us win one more when we play Wolves. :(
