LVSaint Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 http://promo.betfair.com/Sports/uk/grand-national2009/?rfr=6420 Are there really no strings attached? Can I deposit 25 pounds into a new account and really get it back if my horse doesn't come in? Any tips?

LVSaint Posted 3 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 3 April, 2009 Aye, no strings. But don't you live in the States? Well, yes, but I have a UK address and Natwest switch card. Would the refund be available to cash back out or would it remain a Betfair credit though?

Dicko Posted 3 April, 2009 Share Posted 3 April, 2009 Do you know anyone who could open an account instead? If your selection wins, they might share the winnings??
Rut Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 When the hell are they gonna open the USA betting laws? The one thing I really miss over here is not being able to use Betfair. It's not as if you can't bet online - you can bet on quite a few sites (ie www.sportsbook.com ) but they ain't a patch on Betfair. Guess it'll happen one day - will just have wait... I thought the Government tried to quell internet gambling a couple of years back by making it illegal? I can't imagine in a terrible recession like this, Obama re-opening people's opportunity to bet
Rut Posted 10 April, 2009 Share Posted 10 April, 2009 I can't imagine in a terrible recession like this, Obama re-opening people's opportunity to bet The US gambling laws are just f***ed up. If you go to the centre of Indianapolis, right in the heart of downtown there is a 3 level off-track betting place (basically a bookies). It has bars. So here you can drink (& smoke) and gamble on just about anything. There's tons of TV screens showing sh*** loads of different sports. It's not exactly hidden away down a back street. How come this can be here but not elsewhere? If you are ever in Indy it is well worth popping into it just for the novelty value.
