Beer Engine Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Old rosy cheeks has resigned from the board of Southampton Leisure Holdings PLC. But, ominously, I have not seen anything that says he's resigned from the board of Southampton Football Club Limited. The board of Southampton Football Club Limited still seems to comprise the usual suspects:- Michael Wilde (Chairman) Rupert Lowe Andrew Cowen David Jones Please tell me I've missed something! Anyone for Curveball?
Um Bongo Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Yes, you have. He has resigned from both boards. Same as Wilde.
Colinjb Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 So who is running SFC Ltd? The administrators via the holding company I would guess.
Beer Engine Posted 2 April, 2009 Author Posted 2 April, 2009 The AIM Statement of this morning siad: "The Board announces today that it has appointed Mark Fry and David Hudson of Begbies Traynor (South) LLP as joint administrators to the Company. Rupert Lowe, Andrew Cowen and Michael Wilde have resigned as directors of the Company with immediate effect. Southampton Football Club Limited, a subsidiary of the Company, is unaffected by these insolvency proceedings." Obviously Lowe is trying to put some distance between SLH PLC and SFC Ltd for the purpose of avoiding the 10 point penalty (can't see that working BTW) but I can't see anything that says he's resigned from SFC Limited's board. Oh Christ I've bought 8 tickets for Saturday! Please provide me with proof that I've got this totally wrong! Aaaaggghhh
krissyboy31 Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 I can't see anything that says he's resigned from SFC Limited's board. Been confirmed on SNN.
Third Division South Days Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 If they have resigned why has the administrators stated they are working with the directors to obtain investment/buyers?
krissyboy31 Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 If they have resigned why has the administrators stated they are working with the directors to obtain investment/buyers? See my previous post No.5
Third Division South Days Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 See my previous post No.5 The statement says Directors not Director?
krissyboy31 Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 The statement says Directors not Director? It might do but Lowe, Wilde and Cowen HAVE resigned!! Both from the PLC, which was compulsary once Administrators were appointed, and the SFC board, which wasn't. Only Jones remains.
Stepgar Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 surley it would be on the LSE if they had resigned form the football club aswell. I still think that they are part of the club side of things. And that is what worries me more than anything as Lowe an Co. Still run the football club. They have only resigned from the PLC NOT the LTD. Happy to wrong

And that is what worries me more than anything as Lowe an Co. Still run the football club. They have only resigned from the PLC NOT the LTD. Happy to wrong No reason that I can think of why the LSE should report resignations from the club. It's SLH that's listed and that's gone into administration - not the club.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 I didn't think he was on the Football Club Board.
Third Division South Days Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Apparently the administrator stated he is working with the independent members of the board?
Stepgar Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 I didn't think he was on the Football Club Board. This is Lowe we are talking about. You think that just because he was not "on" the board, he never has had a say? Also, if the club have to inform the LSE that they have a change of manager surley they would have to be notified of any resignations from directors etc. So if Lowe was not on the club board I can understand that but Wilde was/is Chairman?
Beer Engine Posted 2 April, 2009 Author Posted 2 April, 2009 Lowe was on the board of SFC Limited and I've seen no official statement that says he has resigned.
bridge too far Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Here is the (now out of date) list of directors of both SLH and the Football Club http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/index.php?page_id=8875

bridge too far Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Yeah it was the same 4 people on both boards. Of whom 3 have reportedly resigned. Leaving Dave Jones as sole director of both boards it would seem.
Pancake Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Of whom 3 have reportedly resigned. Leaving Dave Jones as sole director of both boards it would seem. Im yet to find confirmation anywhere that Lowe, Wilde and Cowen are now OFF the SFC Board. They might be, but Ive not seen anything confirming this.
explorer saint Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Lowe Wilde and Cowan have resigned from both boards and hopefully will never darken our doors again
Pancake Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Lowe Wilde and Cowan have resigned from both boards and hopefully will never darken our doors again Link?
Third Division South Days Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 According to the OS the administrator states that SFC continues to operate under the control of its Directors.
Chez Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 (edited) According to the OS the administrator states that SFC continues to operate under the control of its Directors. I noticed that. Where is the confirmation that Lowe and Quisling have actually resigned from the football club? All I see is their resignation for SLH. Edited 2 April, 2009 by Chez
explorer saint Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Link? Was mentioned on BBC South that Lowe has left SMS and unlikely to ever return again, plus I thought that they resignations were automatic if the PLC went into admin. Apologies if incorrect
Pancake Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Was mentioned on BBC South that Lowe has left SMS and unlikely to ever return again, plus I thought that they resignations were automatic if the PLC went into admin. Apologies if incorrect Correct that they have to leave the PLC
derry Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Correct that they have to leave the PLC Sky say they have resigned from both boards.
SaintRichmond Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Correct that they have to leave the PLC That would be the last thing on earth that Lowe would do .....voluntarily resign He IS still with us folks ...... shortly to come back as OWNER
JustMike Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 That would be the last thing on earth that Lowe would do .....voluntarily resign He IS still with us folks ...... shortly to come back as OWNER Please dont even joke about this.
derry Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Please dont even joke about this. Then we can really bankrupt him properly.
krissyboy31 Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 That would be the last thing on earth that Lowe would do .....voluntarily resign He IS still with us folks ...... shortly to come back as OWNER He needs 2 things to do this, 1) A business plan to make the club profitable and 2) Money to plough into the project. IMO, using the past 10 months as a reference, he has neither.
Clapham Saint Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 It might do but Lowe, Wilde and Cowen HAVE resigned!! Both from the PLC, which was compulsary once Administrators were appointed, and the SFC board, which wasn't. Only Jones remains. No it wasn't.
Stepgar Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 That would be the last thing on earth that Lowe would do .....voluntarily resign He IS still with us folks ...... shortly to come back as OWNER I fear you are right
Beer Engine Posted 2 April, 2009 Author Posted 2 April, 2009 The administrator stated at the press conference that only Jones remains of the original SFC board plus one new bloke whose name I didn't catch. Quote: "He [Lowe] is no longer involved in the football club or the holding company" Sounds like he's gone then.

Window Cleaner Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Sounded something like Teddy Pointin? Freddie Pontin?? that's all we need HidiHi everyone.
Michelle Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Staff at Megastore said to me "So you're spending now Rupert has gone then, are you?" My response? "Hell yeah!"
gaz Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 From the OS interview with Mark Fry of Begbies Traynor: What has happened to the Board? Aside from David Jones the Finance Director the rest of the Board has resigned. How will the business be managed following the Board's resignation? The administrator will run the business of the Plc and the Board of the Football Club will run the Football Club. It will be necessary that all companies within the group to work together to achieve a successful outcome. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11582
Weston Super Saint Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 From the OS interview with Mark Fry of Begbies Traynor: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11582 So, there you are.... Lowe is definitely still with us. Don't be too hasty in scrapping those protest plans. Michelle it's not too late to return those things to the store
bridge too far Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 From the OS interview with Mark Fry of Begbies Traynor: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11582 I don't understand  We've been told and it's been quoted that RL MW and AC have resigned as Directors of the Football Club as well as SLH, leaving only D Jones as a director of both the FC and SLH. So why refer to 'directorS'? Or is he referring to Directors of all the other tinpot little subsidiaries of SLH?

And do you have a link to anything where we've been told that they have resigned from SFC?

From the report in the Echo: "Shortly before this, Saints chairman Michael Wilde, chief executive Rupert Lowe and director Andrew Cowen formally resigned from the boardrooms of both SLH and the football club and walked away from the business"
Rational Rich Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 According to the administrator press conference (the echo has footage on the website) the football club board is David JOnes and a bloke called (I think) kevin Toynbee (it was difficult to hear the name clearly). The rest have resigned.

The Administrator was quite clear that all previous FOOTBALL CLUB directors had gone, apart from David Jones (aka the bloke in charge of the finances the last few years....)
