Ian the Red Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Well all those who stated so vehmently that they would never go into St Mary's again whilst RL was in charge, will you be there on Saturday?????? According to the Echo he's resigned. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4254471.Lowe_and_Wilde_resign_from_Saints/ Frankly I doubt that many will return, probably manage 20k attendance on Saturday and then only because prices have been slashed. Would be gr8 to think the fans would come back in there numbers to show that there is a wealth of support in the city, but I guess it will be the die hards that will always be there, come what may and the stay aways will, simply stay away................... we wait to see!!!!! COYR's
londonsaint1604 Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 We filled up st marys on the last day of last season when we had to win to survive. Let's hope all those people still care enough.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Saturdays game will not offer a true indication as too many factors involved but hopefully any of those that have stayed away for reasons other than financial WILL return. What better way to make investment more attractive than c.25k week on week, ambitious but lets see, we were told, by some, at least 5k were staying away due to the board so lets see how close their assumptions were
Rattlehead Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 I'm now not going until David Jones, the man responsible for the club's financial affairs, resigns. Of course, I have always said this.

Rejoice!

View From The Top Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Can't go Saturday as it's my nippers birthday party but I've just bought 5 tickets for the Palace game and they were all stay aways.
Chris Larkin Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 The OS is showing that the Northam has already sold out, which is pleasing because you can normally still get a ticket in there at 2.30 on a matchday. Ought to be a big crowd really. COYR!
Depressed of Shirley Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 I am now going on Saturday, firstmatch since Reading.
corsacar saint Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Just bought my ticket, I have not been since the Reading game in late december.
slickmick Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 The man that has a burger van and answers to the name of Tris hasn't responded yet.
eelpie Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Saturday will be the first match of the season for some! Welcome back guys and gals!
Neil Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 I won't be attending a match at SMS until Begbies Traynor have been removed, I will stick to my guns on this one and maintain a principled approach...
Saf... Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 I've managed to get at least one stay away to come back for Saturday, so that's at least 17,501.
Window Cleaner Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 The man that has a burger van and answers to the name of Tris hasn't responded yet. Banned apparently
southamptonfclegend Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 please come to the games... Rupert has resigned we need the fans now more than ever ( i know this has been said many times) but yet NOW it could be bust? whats stopping you....?

COYR's The question should be that for those of us who have stuck by the club do we actually want to stand shoulder to shoulder with stay aways who have played their significant part in reducing revenues to the degree we have gone bust. It was hardly a surprise that we were in financial difficulty at the start of the season and choosing to stay away could only end up with the one result. The worse fans of all though are those who only pledged to go to away games so they could literally have their Saints fix and contribute to the club's demise. Truly lower than Lowe.

I'll start going again, so will a number of my mates. The thought of the rosy cheeked one and the jellyfish scouser never darkening our door again has made my day. Come on You Reds. Love it.
AwaySaint1 Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 I'm now not going until David Jones, the man responsible for the club's financial affairs, resigns. Of course, I have always said this. I thought it was normal for the financial guy to stay on a while to work with the administrators in any tits up company ?

The thought of the rosy cheeked one and the jellyfish scouser never darkening our door again has made my day. Come on You Reds. Love it. We can only hope its for more than 3 games, yeah real sweet.
Wade Garrett Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 We can only hope its for more than 3 games, yeah real sweet. It will be more than 3 games. Most of us have supported the club for over 25 years. Sorry about your mate losing his job, I really am. F*ck me, I'm having a good day.
Weston Super Saint Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 I thought it was normal for the financial guy to stay on a while to work with the administrators in any tits up company ? It might be normal, but it certainly isn't logical

Wade Garrett Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Who's going to buy us in 24 days then Mr Happy? Someone will come in, and pick us up for a bargain. Cheer up.

The more pertinent question is will those of us who kept going to SMS while saying that Rupert was killing our club, be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with those lunatics who support Lowe this season and backed his leadership?

MOSaint. Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Lowe gone!! Made my day, got our tickets for sat, and on meridion 21000 tickets sold to date so hopefully a sell out. What does that tell you about a certain Mr Lowe's popularity. COYR
RoswellSaint Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Someone will come in, and pick us up for a bargain. Cheer up. I'm glad you are so confident. I would love to be proved wrong, but this is going to go down to the wire. Most people with any money are hoarding it right now not risking it on highly risky investments.
Johnny Shearer Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Lowe gone!! Made my day, got our tickets for sat, and on meridion 21000 tickets sold to date so hopefully a sell out. What does that tell you about a certain Mr Lowe's popularity. COYR To be honest not much as the situation has completely changed. If Lowe had gone AND we were in mid-table nothingness I don't think that many more people would have actually gone. However as we're now up sh*t creek fans will want to go to show their support otherwise the club may be gone by the summer. A very sobering thought and makes me really despair about what will happen.
Fan The Flames Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 No club of our size has dropped out of the league. We won't be the first not for the paltry debt of £4million.
Andy_Porter Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 No club of our size has dropped out of the league. We won't be the first not for the paltry debt of £4million. Maybe not in England but bigger clubs than us have gone under before, just look at Fiorentina.
Fan The Flames Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 Maybe not in England but bigger clubs than us have gone under before, just look at Fiorentina. But they still exist, a slight name change and a drop down a division or two maybe but they are still a club and are now 5th in Serie A.
Michelle Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 The worse fans of all though are those who only pledged to go to away games so they could literally have their Saints fix and contribute to the club's demise. Truly lower than Lowe. lol, brilliant. Do you actually personally know anyone that has done this? Have you spoken to anyone who has done this? I bet the answer to both is no, so don't pre-judge people you don't even know.
rocknrollman no2 Posted 2 April, 2009 Posted 2 April, 2009 The question should be that for those of us who have stuck by the club do we actually want to stand shoulder to shoulder with stay aways who have played their significant part in reducing revenues to the degree we have gone bust. As for your first question,i would rather stand with someone who has returned now Lowe has gone, than a Lowe luvie. Now ask yourself this Nineteen/Sundance. Who has cost this club the most money? Fans who went to away games supporting our team,or Lowelife who helped relegate us,then mismanaged us to the point of administration?
