Matthew Le God Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 (edited) I've made my first ever website http://www.footballforumfinder.com It has been designed to help you find the most popular fans forums from all over the UK. It is up to date for the 2008/2009 season. Saints Web is of course top of the Saints section I hope you find it useful Edited 9 July, 2011 by Matthew Le God
saint lard Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 That is damn groovy,i have added to favourites. Cheers.
Crouchie's Lawyer Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Erm? The link just takes you to a site full of adverts. Not much footy related too? Doesnt appear to be anything like what I think its meant to be? I was thinking a google esk type search bar where you type a clubs name in? When I typed in Southampton it came up with adverts for firms who worked in southampton?

I don't know why that happens, I think its your browser possibly and some of the settings. It works for some people and not for others. It should look like this
Fowllyd Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Nice work! If I might make a minor suggestion, I think it would benefit from an alphabetical pick list at the top of the screen when you pull up a division - would make it easier to navigate to your own team. Just a thought...

Just a thought... I thought that half way through making it and released how long it would take to go back and change it all. I will probably go back and do that it that way league, by league eventually.
Bailey Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Top website, great work. The Derby forum is making for interesting reading this evening!
Murdock Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Ok I seem to be one of the unlucky few that can't get on to the site, so a request from someone who can please. Could you post a link to the championship section, just want to see if I can get to that. By the MLG, the page it directs me too is a holding page I believe, did you get the domain from Godaddy.com?

Here you go. See if this works... http://www.footballforumfinder.co.uk/english-championship.html

I will probably go back and do that it that way league, by league eventually. I know what you mean. I created a web site for my own business, but forgot to change my monitor resolution down to 1024x768. As a result, I had to edit every sodding page to stop text wrapping where I didn't want it to! So I don't envy you that task...
Murdock Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Here you go. See if this works... http://www.footballforumfinder.co.uk/english-championship.html Thanks for that, but still nothing I'm afraid, back to the holding page again, starting to think its an ISP/DNS problem. Never mind I only wanted to find a Derby forum and read about how suicidal they all are.. :smt046 Wnakers.
David Strover Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 It looks like it's Joomla based. You may have to go into the root folders and delete the installation folders. Only a suggestion.
Baj Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 If a mod doesn't mind me putting this here could it be made a sticky? Nowt wrong with this mate, good work! I'm sure plenty of other people will find it very useful
Iamklootfan Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Hi, I'm pretty sure that the main Burnley forum is below, but it's on the Clarets mad site, which I believe you don't want to list http://boards.footymad.net/mboard/fmb.php?tno=104 In addition to the Burnley papers, the regional newspapers are also likely to carry Clarets news, eg Lancashire telegraph etc , see http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/
Matthew Le God Posted 23 August, 2008 Author Posted 23 August, 2008 Nowt wrong with this mate, good work! I'm sure plenty of other people will find it very useful Can it be a sticky then please?
St Landrew Posted 24 August, 2008 Posted 24 August, 2008 Here you go. See if this works... http://www.footballforumfinder.co.uk/english-championship.html I was also one of the unlucky ones to get to a holding page. This link works a treat though. The website looks like it is going to be an excellent addition to my favourites. Well done MLG.
hypochondriac Posted 24 August, 2008 Posted 24 August, 2008 Great idea. I think it would be good if someone could do a weekly piece on the rivals of our next game for the new saintsweb site. Lots of other forums do it and it can be very interesting to compare the comments before and after the match.
$$$ Posted 24 August, 2008 Posted 24 August, 2008 I've made my first ever website http://www.footballforumfinder.co.ukNice website MLG. Out of interest, did you come across any other websites that charged a subscription for full access?
Micky Posted 24 August, 2008 Posted 24 August, 2008 I'm afraid to say that neither link works for me either - I get the holding page from GoDaddy.com. There appears to be some technical issues afoot...!
John D Posted 24 August, 2008 Posted 24 August, 2008 I'm afraid to say that neither link works for me either - I get the holding page from GoDaddy.com. There appears to be some technical issues afoot...! No luck for me either - any suggestions on how to get it working?
Matthew Le God Posted 24 August, 2008 Author Posted 24 August, 2008 I'm afraid to say that neither link works for me either - I get the holding page from GoDaddy.com. There appears to be some technical issues afoot...! keep trying. i've got that page a few times aswell. then a few hours later it works. i don't know why this happens. maybe/hopefully its because the demand for the site is so large the servers can't cope
Micky Posted 25 August, 2008 Posted 25 August, 2008 keep trying. i've got that page a few times aswell. then a few hours later it works. i don't know why this happens. maybe/hopefully its because the demand for the site is so large the servers can't cope Nope - still doesn't seem to work - I wonder if some people are looking at cached pages. Very strange that some can access whilst other can't, not too sure that this would be a 'demand' related issue either. I'll try again later.
benjii Posted 25 August, 2008 Posted 25 August, 2008 Sometimes I get the site, other times I get the advert page.
lee_saint Posted 25 August, 2008 Posted 25 August, 2008 Carlisle United forum- http://www.carlisleunited-mad.co.uk There's my input.
Matthew Le God Posted 25 August, 2008 Author Posted 25 August, 2008 Sometimes I get the site, other times I get the advert page. I've emailed my server provider to sort out this problem.

Micky Posted 26 August, 2008 Posted 26 August, 2008 Just tried again - but still not working - somewhat frustrating. Perhaps my avatar is somewhat apt in the cirmcumstances...!!
Iowsaintsfan Posted 26 August, 2008 Posted 26 August, 2008 http://forums.therams.co.uk/thread.jspa?threadID=15131&start=135&tstart=0 Whoever posted the last post on here, well done! no Derby fans condemning the fan who pushed over the Saints fan - ******s
Doctoroncall Posted 26 August, 2008 Posted 26 August, 2008 Nice site, perhaps you could also add a flag were username and password to log into forums (to browse content), e.g Ipswich.
Matthew Le God Posted 26 August, 2008 Author Posted 26 August, 2008 Have a look on my site for Birmingham for a read
TopGun Posted 26 August, 2008 Posted 26 August, 2008 Have a look on my site for Birmingham for a read I like the quote on the Joys & Sorrows site (page 2) where they think they are losing because we are shoving them around.
Matthew Le God Posted 7 April, 2009 Author Posted 7 April, 2009 After months of talking with godaddy.com the site is now working how it should. I have also updated graphically large parts of it and removed all adverts.
trousers Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 Nice one....much more user friendly than one or two of the other Forum Links sites out there
trousers Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 BTW....This Notts County MB has more regular users than the one you've got a link to. http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=402& Cheers
Dicko Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 Congrats MLG, brilliant website Have you compiled info for every club, or do you need any gaps filled?
Matthew Le God Posted 7 April, 2009 Author Posted 7 April, 2009 Cheers Trousers. I have decided not to use footymad, rivals.net etc I only have independant sites.
Matthew Le God Posted 7 April, 2009 Author Posted 7 April, 2009 Congrats MLG, brilliant website Have you compiled info for every club, or do you need any gaps filled? There are still quite a few lower league clubs I need some help doing if you can or anyone else for that matter it would be great.
Dicko Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 There are still quite a few lower league clubs I need some help doing if you can or anyone else for that matter it would be great. When you click on a club and it shows the badge, but no links (just says paragraph), are they the clubs you need info on?
Matthew Le God Posted 7 April, 2009 Author Posted 7 April, 2009 When you click on a club and it shows the badge, but no links (just says paragraph), are they the clubs you need info on? Yes those ones. They shouldn't say paragraph though. That should only be seen when Im editing the site. Which clubs are these?
Dicko Posted 7 April, 2009 Posted 7 April, 2009 Yes those ones. There shouldn't say paragraph though. Whcih clubs are these? I just noticed it on Hereford United
