trousers Posted 1 April, 2009 Posted 1 April, 2009 I know this will get shot down as a pie-in-the-sky notion but wouldn't it make logical sense for Hoddle to buy SFC out of the SLH collapse? A finishing school in the football league....what better fit for his business model? Surely he could leverage the middle-east investment deal he secured last year?
Colinjb Posted 1 April, 2009 Posted 1 April, 2009 It could make logical sense for hoddle to align his academy directly with an existing club, assuming the players it produces are of a high enough standard to sustain it.
Gemmel Posted 1 April, 2009 Posted 1 April, 2009 I hereby claim the referral commission I think that will belong to dalek, who, if he has read this thread will now be in some darkened room, complete with tissues
Pancake Posted 1 April, 2009 Posted 1 April, 2009 No, if I understand correctly... the way Hoddles Academy is funded (the cash from the Middle East) means that there are some restrictions about their links with Football League clubs.

Pancake Posted 1 April, 2009 Posted 1 April, 2009 Bugger http://www.arabianbusiness.com/544525-premier-league-bans-emirates-nbd-football-fund That states that the Premier League clubs cannot buy players connected to the "Hero Global Football Fund" set up by Alan Hansen and David Davies (amongst others) and funded by the Dubai National Bank. The HGFF has heavily invested in Glenn Hoddles Academy IIRC; and therefore there is a problem with the players from there being signed by Premiership clubs. How this effects Football League clubs, I dont know...

Pancake Posted 1 April, 2009 Posted 1 April, 2009 Thank you Philip, thought you might pop up on this one.
mynameisthehulk Posted 1 April, 2009 Posted 1 April, 2009 can not be long before Dalek posts After he has stopped rubbing himself
Dalek2003 Posted 1 April, 2009 Posted 1 April, 2009 Hoddle could be a saviour to this club. we could get some investment into the club via the academy and start building for the future.
