Is that true?

The ST cash would have just disappeared down the toilet?

I think it wouldnt have disappeared and whoever took over would I expect honour monies already been paid.Obviously people in the main would have paid by credit card and safe, but it still would be hassle and something that has thankfully been avoided.

Thanks for that - I must admit to being nervous starting this thread last night, in case it was wrong, but my view is and always will be there is no point having this forum unless we are prepared to share as much as we can with each other. At the end of the day it seems we, the fans are always the last to know but the first to be asked to put our hands in our pockets.

Agreed...

In which case you should publish the salient points of Morph's PM...

Nobody has picked up (from what i have noticed) that Derby County did this a while ago and so they got away with it.

I have taken this off of the daily echo website

Derby County provided the precedent which has seen Saints avoid a 10-point deduction for their parent company going into administration.

Back in October 2003, when ex-Saints boss George Burley was in charge at Pride Park, the Rams' parent company Derby County PLC were taken into receivership by the Co-op bank with debts of around £30m.

But Derby County Football Club, a seperate organisation under the umbrella of the Derby County PLC company, were not taken into administration and had no points deduction.

Within minutes of Derby County Ltd going into receivership, a consortium took over from them and that company ceased to exist

So, hoping and praying that rupey will pull this off !!! I may say a small and very shallow thank you under my breath so nobody actually hears and then usher him from my life/club forever.

Hearing tonight from more than one source there is going to be major (but unfortunately negative) developments tomorrow, starting with an announcement at 7AM re the shares..

Hi FF....any idea what time we can expect to hear about the next 'major development' today? Any idea what time is the board meeting is for example?

Cheers

edit: ignore me, just seen the SSN update about the various meetings/press conferences posted in the sticky thread

It is very much in Aviva's interests to ensure that SFC keeps going because without SFC Aviva would be left with a 24 million unpaid debt secured against a stadium which would have no value beyond that of the land on which it stands.

My prediction is that Aviva will INCREASE its loan facility to SLH to allow it to pay off Barclays and have a small amount of working capital available.

I suspect that Aviva have been playing hardball with Barclays - saying that they will refinance SLH on the condition that Barclays writes off 50% of the 4 million owing to them.

The suspension of shares is the result of brinkmanship - Aviva saying to Barclays - look -you will get nothing at all if you don't take some sort of hit.

Hope I'm right - in which case this could be good news.

Bring on Charlton

Post and be damned. I get next to no information from the OS (all they put up this morning was a link to the LSE statement) and I don't trust entirely what I read in the Echo. Keep it coming FF.

Very good post this and the may well be negotiations between those two parties to allow SFC to effectively remortgage to pay off the overdraft. However, I'm not so sure AVIVA could play `hardball with Barclays'. As you said AVIVA have more to lose than Barclays so Barclays could say to AVIVA, pay us our £4M or we take the company to admin. AVIVA then faces the prospect of losing perhaps as much as 80% of the £24m they are owed.

See posts nos 23 and 36.

Hasn't had the grace to apologise yet either :)

I'll apologise for him if you impart with some more info. If it fails to be correct then so be it.Today is a time when fans need to be open with other fans as we ALL are living with the current concerns. You may have been eased by news or more depressed but ast least you know something. Dont leave the rest on a string just because you feel slighted.

Had a call again an hour or so ago. Looks like Administrators will be appointed and the announcement made tomorrow. This is from the same person who telephoned me yesterday evening with the Stock Market news.

I know no more than that at present.

Perhaps I didnt want info after all.

Nick I wouldn't not reveal something because of Steve but I do think that having poured scorn on what I and Fos 1 were saying last night he could have at least held his hands up today and acknowledged he was wrong.

Like everyone else I am uncertain about what will happen next. (I am no longer in contact with LC because of something I said on this forum - although I gather he was at SMS this morning - so any info does not come from him).

However, I believe there are some good people out there who care for the club and they probably realise now is the time "to put their heads above the parapet". Whether or not they can deliver, or will be "allowed" to deliver is the million dollar question. We have had so many false dawns I am reluctant to raise hopes but reassurance can be felt that there are at least people trying. I am sure now the cat is out of the bag things will move swiftly.

I never "poured scorn" on what you said, given that I had received what I suspect was identical information.

I made a sarcastic post in response to fos1 who seems to only ever post in response to you by saying "yeah, I agree with you, Duncan" - it looks ridiculous and appears as though he can't come up with his own opinions. Knowing the bloke, I know that isn't the case, but as I say, it looks ridiculous, almost as though he's hanging on every word you say like the kid at school who stood behind the bully repeating everything that comes from his mouth.

Thanks for the info Duncan your views, as ever, are very much appreciated from this quarter. I've only just got home from work having heard the news on the radio and am at least optimistic that we might get some good out of all this.

Just to set the record straight and suport Duncan.

I had a call last night whilst at a dinner in Sindlesham from a good source to tell me the shares were to be suspended at 7am today but that was not Administration. The board were meeting today.

I telephoned Duncan and he confirmed he had heard it from an equally good source with LSE contacts. We were clear that the information did not eminate from the same person. Duncan said he would post and I added to the post when I got back at 11pm last night.

With that confirmation Duncan decided to post this thread

The board have met, a decision voted on and passed and we will likely know the outcome of that decision tomorrow.

Thanks Ron - like you said I had already heard from a couple of sources (inc Fos1) that something was afoot. I spoke to Fos1 and we agreed it better to say nothing because the sources were a little vague. It was only when you rang I felt confident enough to post.

As you know if what you post does "come off" you are liable for a "kicking" on here and indeed "Rory" and "Hypo" were initially doing their bootlaces up last night. It is a fine line and one I note Steve Grant was not prepared to take last night despite his claim that he was in possesion of the same facts as us.... and it's his forum!!!!

Duncan thanks. I know the importance of keeping the source of any info to yourself. Afterall it can sometimes be a threat to jobs. I have always wondered why a club like our and a city that has provided so many wealthy men that none have come forward to invest.

Now is the time and if they have an ego that needs massaging then we are the club, because i would expect anybody who saves us from the abyss will be of hero status.

I'd received the info on the condition that it was subject to an embargo until 7am today - I felt I should respect my source's request on that.
