puff the magic dragon Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 There's no way back now. Typical Saints. We're sh1t and we're going down.
musesaint Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 I am 100% behind the kids but FFS we have got to put chances away...we really have
scott_saints Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Same as last week methinks. We owned the first half, they'll come out strong in 2nd and we'll lose. It's fun being positive!
Saint_clark Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Trouble is, we'll now have to up our game as Derby certainly will.
Thedelldays Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 you just know we will pay for missing 4 one-on-ones...!!! FFS we should be out of sight
musesaint Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Another great first half ...but three clear missed chances We need Rasiak to put those away and aren't going to see him this season..He may look lazy but he seldom misses! Falling gates and administration are the price we may well pay for saving money on wages in the hope that the kids can do enough to keep us up
St.Patrik Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 We need a striker badly - thats the sad truth
brightspark Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Im not positive here, it has always been Saints' duty to rid a team of a bad record Still it seems like the younger team is playing better than the careless team of last season. But it counts for nothing if we always 'play well' then lose. You dont get points for performance.
Thedelldays Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 We need a striker badly - thats the sad truth why..we have stern john and he scored a bucket load last season for us..
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 We need a striker badly - thats the sad truth We have a 17 goal one on the bench.. Just get him on...
musesaint Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 why..we have stern john and he scored a bucket load last season for us.. And also missed a bucket load as well
1965onwards Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 With John playing we would probably not had as many as 4 chances. These boys will come good.
benjii Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Another great first half ...but three clear missed chances We need Rasiak to put those away and aren't going to see him this season..He may look lazy but he seldom misses! Falling gates and administration are the price we may well pay for saving money on wages in the hope that the kids can do enough to keep us up We need a striker badly - thats the sad truth Of the 4 "one on ones" only one was missed by McGoaldrick. Two were Holmes and one was Lallana. Bit simplistic to say we should just get a new striker. why..we have stern john and he scored a bucket load last season for us.. Indeed!
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 With John playing we would probably not had as many as 4 chances. These boys will come good. Why`s that? please enlighten us..
Saint_clark Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 And also missed a bucket load as well EVERYBODY misses chances. Otherwise every good striker would score around 100 goals every season.
benjii Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 With John playing we would probably not had as many as 4 chances. These boys will come good. Possibly... and if we did they would have been different sorts of chances. Very encouraging half. Unless we're all accepting the second half collapse as inevitable (in which case we might as well give up for the season now), we have to be encouraged by that.
Minty Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 The majority of our game sounds very positive... creating chances, defending ok... and I actually think the fact that we're not winning might be a good thing as it means less chance of complacency creeping in. Keep going lads...
saintkiptanui Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 just played them off the park and al you gimps can do is moan moan, bunch of turdf*ckballs.
1965onwards Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Because we would be playing differently. Can you ever remember seeeing or hearing of John with a one-on-one for us? The chances we are creating prove that we are playing the right way, with more experience the boys will start to put these chances away. What decent striker are we going to get with no money?

Of course not, but we need to score when we were on top.

Thedelldays Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Why`s that? please enlighten us.. probably because he is a better striker and his goals last season suggest he knows where the net is more so than most at the club... I may be wrong though
benjii Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Of course not, but we need to score when we were on top. We need to score more than the other team. Doesn't mater when!
Saint_clark Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 probably because he is a better striker and his goals last season suggest he knows where the net is more so than most at the club... I may be wrong though You're absolutely right. John is also a far better team player than McGoldrick - he can hold the ball up and bring players in, as well as score from any position.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Because we would be playing differently. Can you ever remember seeeing or hearing of John with a one-on-one for us? Ther probably was a few but cannot be exact about dates. Thing is, he scores goals and scored 17 last season in a team scrapping against relegation so surely he would score a few in a team playing such lovely football, wouldn`t he?

ALWAYS_SFC Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 He scored 19. Even better then....get him on FFS
