madruss Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Not having a go at Poortvliet, but seriously - WTF? Does he actually know his best team??? I don't see what you're getting at. That line-up has 10 of the 11 that started the first 2 games and the last pre-season games. The only position he's changing about is the RM, which is fair enough as no-one has really done enough to make the position theirs
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Davis, James, Perry, Svensson, Surman; Schneiderlin, Gillet, Lallana, Holmes, White, Mcgoldrick Instead of John....ffs

Um Bongo Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Think it was John, Dyer, Cork, Bart and can't remember the other. And Wotton. A Team with an average age of about 8. Hmmm.
benjii Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Any idea of the subs? BB, Wotton, Cork, Dyer, John.

ALWAYS_SFC Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 (edited) Seems to me like White is playing the main striker role. Surely we are`nt going to play a 18 year old inexperienced lad up front in place of John or McGoldrick..... Edited 23 August, 2008 by ALWAYS_SFC
Saint_clark Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Surely we are`nt going to play a 18 in experienced lad up front in place of John and McGoldrick..... I hope not, but White played the strikers role when he played during pre-season at Basingstoke (?) and Weymouth.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 I hope not, but White played the strikers role when he played during pre-season at Basingstoke (?) and Weymouth. If as it say above John is not fit, it just shows how desperate we are up front with Saga and Rasiak gone.
VectisSaint Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Not having a go at Poortvliet, but seriously - WTF? Does he actually know his best team??? Well he clearly knows 10/11 which is damn close to knowing your best team. If this had been Burley we would have seen 5 or 6 changes. He is clearly just trying to get 1 place sorted out. I am warming to the guy and very impressed that he clearly has in his mind what is his best team, but has several options for the 11th spot and is experimenting to find the optimum. At least he has realised that BWP is not an option at present...
jasonbenali Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 At least it's a more balanced bench. Keeper, defender, defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder and striker...

I was just a bit shocked to see White in there completely randomly. Still a bit concerned about James and Surman though - no pace at all.

revolution saint Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Thats quite an attacking team. Looks like JP is definitely going for the win. No, we need to learn from a few more defeats first before looking at winning.
Saint_clark Posted 23 August, 2008 Posted 23 August, 2008 Cope and Armstrong placed a bet on Svensson first/last scorer.

I was just a bit shocked to see White in there completely randomly. Still a bit concerned about James and Surman though - no pace at all. This thing about Drew having no pace. I confess that I have not seen him this season yet, is it still the case? Under Burley he was clearly unfit and was awfully slow, was just wondering from anyone who has seen him this season whether he looks fitter and faster.
