hamster Posted 28 March, 2009 Posted 28 March, 2009 On BBC1 atm. I remember when he was one of the funniest acts around. Not now he ain't, shame.
Kev Posted 28 March, 2009 Posted 28 March, 2009 I agree. Unfortunately he's been telling the same jokes for over 30 years now.
Rory Posted 28 March, 2009 Posted 28 March, 2009 Totally. Stephen Amos does a better job with the "persecuted black man" jokes, even if 95% of his material focuses on this premise.

Just listened to a few of his gigs on youtube. Not funny funny in my opinion, just funny. The best by far for the black genre is Chris Rock, I really don't know how he gets away with some of his stuff, it may be cos he's a bit cute?

Delivery of said jokes for a start.
Rattlehead Posted 29 March, 2009 Posted 29 March, 2009 Very unfunny and annoying, just like his fat bint of a wife, Dawn French. What a f*cking pair those two are, they deserve each other.

SimonRichards Posted 29 March, 2009 Posted 29 March, 2009 Talentless and non entertaining! I have never liked him. He was on Live at the Apolo last night, on the BBC. I had to fast forward on SKY+ through the bits he was on.
St Landrew Posted 29 March, 2009 Posted 29 March, 2009 Oh I don't know. There was a time when Lenny was funny. But he's been around so long now, that he's become a bit of the comedy furniture. It's almost accepted that you're supposed to like him. He's become a social commentator for Comic Relief and for black issues. I think the world is better for having Lenny Henry in it, but I don't find him hugely funny. But he brings the odd smile, and he does get a message across. Wish he'd stop those bloody hotel adverts though, and let Hazell get back to being a detective.
TopGun Posted 29 March, 2009 Posted 29 March, 2009 Same old crap he's been peddling for years. Not funny.
