Remember the clocks go forward tonight

I am working tonight til two, so I'm guessing it'll technically be three. Right? I can never fathom these things out.

Mr TF reckons he loses out if he's working a night shift when this happens. But they do a deal where the day shift comes in half an hour early and his shift finishes half an hour early.

It sorts itself out over time.

We gain on the night shift. 12 hours pay for 11 hours attendance. Hurts in October though if on nights. 13 hours attendance for 12 hours pay.

Swings and roundabouts though.

When I used to work as a 'bar person' in Felix Park in Eastleigh, as soon as the clock hit 2am on the night the clocks went forward, it became 1am and we used to stay open an extra hour without any pay. However the management did let us drink the bar dry after we finished to make up for it. :)

Well I'm still at work, my shift officially finshes at half one, and I've just watched the clocks jump from 1am to 2am. This shift is now dragging like a sod. :-(

On the flip side, only 3 hours from when I get home until the F1 starts, not 4.

No, the clocks went forward, so it became 3am. I think you perhaps drank the bar too dry. ;)

Surely that would happen in October when the clocks go BACK?

Well that doesn't sound like work at all...that sounds like playing...

I remember the 1970's experiment with British Standard Time. It was superb having those summer evenings that seemed to go on forever [not literally, obviously]. Being on the beach at 9pm, and it still being balmy. Felt like the mediterranean. Let's have it back. And as I've always said... b******* to Scotland..! ;)

I won't bother pwning you for this as you've done a grand job yourself (as usual) and others have piled in already.

When you say 'bar person', do you in fact mean 'barmaid'?
