(Sorry, unusually, there was nothing about Saints in the sports pages). Anyway back to hubris syndrome which has, according to the article, the following symptoms ~ A narcissistic propensity to see one's world primarily as an arena in which to exercise power and seek glory. A disproportionate concern with image and presentation. A messianic manner. Excessive confidence in own judgement and contempt for advice. Exaggerated self-belief, bordering on omnipotence. A belief that one is accountable solely to history or God (my favourite). Loss of contact with reality; often associated with progressive isolation. Restlessness, recklessness and impulsiveness.

Nah, decided to give Eastleigh a miss - with 2000 there and no terracing the view will be crap. I hate these Saturdays when we aren't playing and our very future is in the balance. I think now the price of relegation will be potentially larger than when we lost our premiership status. I remember Rupert one year saying if we went down the building plans for SMS would be shelved and at the time thinking thats a helluva forfeit but with administration likely should we not avoid the drop the next few weeks are crucial, hubris or not! Enjoy the game this afternoon - horrible to think if Eastleigh go up and we go down there will only be 2 leagues between us!

We just don't have that among our board - just the invertebrate Wilde, and a handful of lapdogs. Hence, Lowe ploughs on with his schemes without objection and we end up, well, where we are..

Lowe is a bit like Thatcher towards the end of her time in power - absolutely barking but at least you knew where you stood. Plus I think he would probably stick to his word which is more than you can say about Mikey. And Bern, I don't obsessively hate him but I hate with an obsession what he has done to our club. People who take that step and make things happen while using a "Full Steam Ahead and Damn the Torpedoes" attitude. There is however a very fine line between those who actually have the Wit and Wisdom to make that work, and those who end up looking stupid and failing dismally as we now see at SMS. The Ex Ceo of the MNC I used to work for had a vision. the trouble is he had no common sense and had nobody who would stand alongside him and bounce ideas or question every angle until the "Vision" became workable as well as visionary. The company faltered, he was called the Worst CEO in American COrporate History He was quoted as saying "but everybody agreed with my decisions" and the interviewer responded by saying - well of course, you fired anyone who dissented... IF we get to the end of the season intact and in the CCC and without new owners, then from SOMEWHERE, that Voice needs to tell him to take that step back from hands -on and give the fans something and someone they can rally behind who at least thinks before acting

Whatever you may misguidedly think, I'm not Pro Lowe, and to be honest I don't have the time or inclination to keep on arguing this point with someone that is so out of touch, his posts are derided, humoured and then laughed at. Wotte has already told us he keeps the job if we stay up.To be fair if Wotte does lead us to safety would it not be then damned stupid to get rid of him??? His record to do so will be a lot better than NP's or any of the other past managers and so will have earned the right in my opinion. If we go down then we need to take stock but Wotte has impressed me by his uniting of the dressing room his understanding how to work in this league.
