Depressed me a little to be quite honest...football is pretty sh:t now...

Someone like David Moyes should be capable of winning the league with a team like Everton...but big money makes it impossible even for a team of that size to do the necessary...how is that a good state of affairs?

Was a good programme though...

Two and a half hours and not one pedant to correct David Moyles...you lot disappoint me sometimes

Will they ever make a film about Rupert in 30 years time?

What's that got to do with this thread? Nothing, leave the Lowe bashing to the Main Bored please.

I caught the end of it and wish I'd Sky+plussed it. Anyone know if it's due a repeat?

Proper proper football fans man imho.

His nipper has one hell of an act to follow, but I see quite a lot of the gtreat man's body language in him.

Although it was very entertaining, they portrayed him as being a brilliant manager (which he was) and then in the last ten minutes hinted at a darker side - I wish they had explored that some more...

Wonder how he would get on in todays Football world.

I expect he would struggle with the players having to much power due to wages and celebrity.

As I understand it, the documentary was going to be about sons living in the shadow of brilliant fathers, using the Cloughs as the chief example. Then it got rushed to completion as a standard biography, to ride the wave of current interest.

At least that's what Mark Lawson said on Front Row. That would explain a slight lack of thoroughness.

Yeah...where was the playing career stuff? I know there's not going to be a dirth of footage but they barely even spoke about it...

Watched it last night on ITV and thought it was great.

Seeing the credits for the Big Match took me back to the 'good old days'

Presumably you haven't seen any of The Big Match series repeats on ITV4, that are currently transmitted on Thursdays at 11.30am and 4.00pm [in about 10 minutes or so, as I type] and Fridays at 12.30pm.

There was a bit of noise last week, as the 1979 League Cup Final was being shown. It makes me wonder whether certain posters actually bother to read anything on these forums.

Many of us are scared of the main board.

Well as Im running a business it is not that easy to to sit down and watch the tv at those times.

I dont read every thread and although I was at the 1979 fianl and a very good day I had too.As we lost I wasn't that keen to watch.

It was Cloughie gold at the signing of Trevor Francis when he turned up with a squash racquet and said he'd smack him over the head with it if Francis ballsed it up, or something similar.

A true character and sorely missed.

That's a bit uncalled for.

Perhaps you could record them from now on then..? Southampton have been featured several times on the programme.

There is an undoubted tendancy amongst certain posters to write first before reading. Nickh is not normally amongst those, however, I believe the point I make is valid.

Hmmm how dare people not watch TV when and where you prescribe....please sir can you tell me what I need to watch for next week?

I always thought I was one of the more of the moderate posters but frankly it seems like I'm subscribing to a site I didn't intend to at the moment.

As it happens, I missed the Clough documentary. I thought it would be on ITV's version of iPlayer, but no sign.

Good ol' ITV. It's Coro and Co, and bugger all else. Low quality TV as always.

NB: That's a hint for anyone to provide a link for me to the documentary.

I can get you a link to The Big Match Revisited...

Thanks. Don't need that.

It also appears that all TVPlayers, BBC or ITV are having a bit of down time. Perhaps you can confirm this Deppo..?

I used BBC iplayer a few hours ago...

So did I, but just a few minutes ago that dotted circle just went round and around. And I knew I wasn't going to be watching the programme I wanted to see.

Kind of let ITV's crappy player off the hook, a bit. But not much.

Clough isn't on ITV Player yet. There's just his interview with Don Revie after he lost the Leeds job. Trying to use ITV Player has made me want to kill.

You're getting the kind of feeling I had. ;)

I dont have skyplus, and if I did i dont think they would be that keen on me watching the 1970's Big match at 8 o'clock at night.

Anyway as I said watching credits made me all sentimenatl.

A little bit of irony there, me thinks.
