At least hes being positive I suppose, I would rather somone say "we are going to stay up!" then the ussual rubbish JP, Burley and the others spout like I have a weak squad I cant be expected to peform miracles ect. Make no mistake though woote will need to perform miracles to keep this team up

Like him or loathe him, he's confident at least.

TBF although he does come out with a load of sh1te, he at least sounds more inspiring than Burley ever was.

Reading in between the lines, I guess he thinks that Rupey Baby will still be here then?

We're being buttered up again for a shafting....I tell you that....

So by inference, he has been told he will not stay if we're relegated??? I am not his biggest fan TBF, but even I would prefer some continuity of management or its a case of here we go again - another chance for Lowe to ****-up a managerial appointment. And I agree with Channons Sideburns - there are the first signs that the better playing staff will be leaving us. If we thought this season team was full of youngsters, I think we'll be seeing a lot of Academy players in L1 next season. I can almost smell the almightly uproar of disatisfaction that will come crashing down on Lowe and Wotte should we go down.

I've a feeling that he probably realises that our finances are so dire that, if we did go down, we'd probably have to go into administration and, if that happened, there wouldn't be any contract renewals (as I'm pretty sure his managerial deal only runs until the end of the season?).

We'd still need a manager though, and if his wages are as low as has been touted, then surely he'd be the ideal candidate??

or... if we relegate he know's he's off as Lowe will be? Silver-lining on relegation cloud part 2? ;)

...or any other unemployed British manager with the added bonus of CCC/League 1 knowledge and experience?

True, but I'm just not sure that a company in administration is allowed to take on or re-hire out of contract staff. Anyone know for sure?

I'm not sure we need to go into administration.

Even if we go down?

I dont think so. If Lowe has ANY sense at all he'll at least leave in the summer and say 'I came back and saved the club from administration' to rebuild his errrr 'reputation'. But then does he have any sense?

I dont think we need to - I think there are many worse than us who won't. If we do it will be because some of our existing shareholders may have a plan to consolidate their holdings on the back of administration IMHO - and that is the worrying thing. If we go into administration I worry that it will not be in the Clubs interest but once more for the interest of certain shareholders.

The reason I think that is the case is that at no stage have the board declared the Club as being 'For Sale'. Why?

Are you serious? Would you really want him kept on if we get relegated? COntinuity of management will be the least of our worries.

Agreed - continuity of what? Being at the bottom of the league and slagging the fans?

to be fair to JP he never made excuses or blamed the poor quality of his squad. I think that was his most redeeming feature - he simply refused tio hide behind the fact he was dealt a poor hand and er, his hands were clearly tied.

Can you explain what you mean by slagging the fans? Does this have something to do with him suggesting non attending fans don't help the club avoid relegation?

Oh great.

... at least there's a silver lining on the cloud of relegation then.

To be fair though, the guy is coming across a lot better than I thought he would. Apart from a few choice comments, it seems that he is trying hard to win us lot over (no small feat by any stretch of the imagination) and get Saints playing football again. Even if we do go down, that 3-0 win at Ipswich was one of the best Saints performances I have seen in a long old time!

I think it was more to do with Wotte's assumption of the demographic involved in the protests - Wotte thought it was 'just kids'...which shows that he didn't watch the interviews on The Championship programme. I feel Wotte was probably told by 'someone else' who was on the march.

What a shame he didn't look onto the area around the TB Statue to see volume and differing ages of those who protested.

Young and Old attended, yes some chavs mixed in but all genuine fans nonetheless.

Yep. But, you and I both know the tone, manner and consistency of saying that only the 'real' fans come and support/dont protest etc was not quite as simple as 'suggesting the non-attending fans don't help the club avoid relegation' as you put it.

Yes, I won't miss his slagging of the fans.

Wellll.. I think he's a bit outspoken but it'll all be forgiven if he keeps us up tbh.

Indeed, compared to JP and the previous club policy. But as I continually post, judge Wotte on the whole. He has been instrumental to the youth **** up from August last year and has changed club policy since JPs removal to include the playing of whatever experienced professionals we had left. That is the secret of Wotte's managerial success: 'you dont win anything with kids'. Trouble is - we havent got enough men to survive now IMHO.

I am not so sure. He comes with Lowe as a pair, or at best is labelled with that indignity.

I think he'll always be judged based on that Ponty... unless he gets us into the PL at the end of next season! I hope so, but as I have already volunteered to eat my own earwax if we survive this season (such was my certainty), I would pledge to eat alot worse if he achieved that!

so he was part of the play the youth policy, but did he choose that policy? When given charge of the decision he changed the policy having seen it doesn't work. I'm not sure I can give him stick for other of those things.

I have to say though that the football has ben pretty unatractive since he took charge, but certainly more effective than the last few months of JP's tenure.

Why tar him with Lowe's dirty brush or does this relate back to the slagging of fans that you remarked on ealier in the thread?

mid table Championship side next year would be OK wouldn't it based on the fact we will probably have even less money to play with than we did this?

"It's not easy to look ahead to next season already. I will stay in charge if we stay up, so I have my plan ready for next year"

If we dont stay up I will leave, as will anyone associated with the club..Admin perhaps ?

Hope not :smt017
