Mixed day yesterday, Delegator shot his bolt too soon but recovered with Canford Cliffs.

Today's nap is Tartan Bearer in the 3.45 Prince of Wales.

In the 3.05 I'm hoping for a return to form of Spacious, a repeat of last years 1000 Guineas would be enough here.

The 4.20 Hunt Cup is a devilish race, minimum each way bet on Philario.

Good luck to all.

5.30 Another wide open race to finish the day. Micky Chanon runs 2, Please Sing and Silver Games. Please Sing looks to be the better of the 2 so I'm going for that one at a decent price-25/1 with some firms.

I did both ew. 3rd and 4th. Not to shabby.

ATR? at the races?

Off topic a bit, but i got a few horses i follow, but only ad-hoc, is there a place i can see the time-tables of all horses?

Yep, At the Races is an excellent site IMO. If you mean can you be alerted when one of your horses is running then Easyodds will do that for free. All you need to do is register:

thursday can you please offer your tips for goodwood friday meeting. am going there to get trolleyed, so will write down suggested punts before i go....

ta in advance

I've mentioned these guys before but for less than a tenner they'll give you tips for each race, I think they give a best bet, next best bet and "lively outsider" for each race so 3 tips for each race is the only downside for me. They do refund your money if they don't find at least 3 winners though that's not really any consolation if you've done your money! However, it does enable you to have an interest in each race and if you just stick to backing horses at decent odds, say 5/1+ ( usually the outsider will be a much bigger price) then that will make the day more interesting and maybe you'll make some money in the process!

Spacious did me a favour yesterday.

Not sure where to go in the 2.30, might just leave it and watch.

3.05 Flame of Gibraltar - trappy race for me, question marks over many of the market leaders. FoG looks a decent value bet.

3.45 Yeats

4.20 Emirates Roadshow (place) - the draw was a massive factor yesterday in the races on the straight. Need the jockey on ER to put up a better performance. I really like Rockhampton too, ahhhhhhhh.... decisions, decisions..

2.30 Monsieur Chevalier. Seems this is our banker of the day.

3.05 Sorry Hatch but I'm with July Jasmine too. Has been very well supported this morning, I did see 9/1 earlier but best price now is 13/2.

3.45 I think this is simply a case of whether Yeats can run to his true form but that's by no means a certainty so 2/1 does not appeal. So though I'd love him to win for a record 4th time in a row I'm going to opt for Veracity whose record reads 113-213 so looks a very good bet to make the frame at around 13/2.

4.20 Hats off to anyone who picks the winner of this race. Could name half a dozen and still not be confident that any will even be placed. However, somewhere in the back of my mind I seem to recall hearing good vibes for Mutamaashi and it has been backed this morning also so I'm going for that one though Brief Encounter has also so been well supported so maybe 50p on each for me !

4.55 Freemantle (probably do a win double with Monsieur Chevalier)

5.30 Highland Glen Should appreciate the fast ground and looks decent value at 11/1

Chrisobee - if you want some value in the 3.45 then Eastern Anthem is at 25/1 for an e/w bet.

2.30 MONSIEUR CHEVALIER

3.05 Take The Hint

3.45 Yeats

4.20 Roman Republic (lottery of a race!)

4.55 Freemantle

5.30 Highland Glen

Just to let everyone know that I won't be posting any tips tomorrow as I am off to Edinburgh on a stag do.

Also, I just changed my mind and went for July Jasmine in the 3.05.

Ok, if it loses we'll blame you for putting the jinx on it ;)

Hmm, so you decided to go with Yeats, heart or head !? Anyway as Monsiuer Chevalier, July Jasmine, , Freemantle and Highland Glen each have at least 2 people tipping them this could be the make or break day !! Oh and Patkai and Yeats in the 3.45 and Emirates Roadshow in the 4.20 lottery !

So the concensus would appear to be:

2.30 M Chevalier

3.05 July Jasmine

3.45 Yeats/Patkai

4.20 Emirates Roadshow

4.55 Freemantle

5.30 Highland Glen

Will be an interesting afternoon, only 15 minutes before Monsieur Chevalier gets us off to a flying start.........or maybe not!

I don't see why there are backers for Emirates Roadshow (4.20), there are plenty of other horses with better chances in this lottery of a race.

the 3.45 was a hard one Yeats has seen it and done it before with the same yard. Geordieland was also in the frame as although an 8yr old is now lightly raced and has beaten Patkai already.

Radiohead wins the first

"Highly promising debut second at Newmarket considering he looked clueless and looked much more the finished article when outclassing three others (second won a seller since) at Bath; hard to say how good he might be but slight concern to see tongue tie go on."

Was really pleased to see Yeats win. I had my doubts but it looked back to it's best or close to it.Must admit I was not overly impressed with some of the riding. Both Monsieur Chevalier and Radiohead were badly hampered and Radiohead did very well to win. The in a later race there was so much jostling for position that numerous horses were getting hampered, one good reason for just watching races with large fields!

My tentative selections so far :

2.30 Both Lily Langtry and Aegean are too short for me though it's hard to know what to oppose them with. However, Hayabib at 25/1 looks a sporting ew bet.

3.05 Aqwaal at around 7/1

3.45 Regane at at best price of 12/1 though Rainbow View has good chances I feel.

4.20 I like Stone of Scone also but will opt for Mick Channon's Halicarnassus at around 16/1

4.55 Clowance House At around 16/1

5.30 Musaalem in what is a nigh on impossible race to pick the winner at around 12/1

Thanks, yes, at least I got the name right when it mattered ie placing my bet smileyvault-ty.gif

To be honest my main reasons for backing it were the Hills/Dunlop partnership and the fact 25/1 looked too big. In the event clearly 16/1 was too big also! Part of the reason I'm sure was that Aegean was much too short.

Cannot say I am surprised at the lack of tips for today, whilst I might have a few small sporting ew bets it's possibly the trickiest day of the lot. However, since once again I'm having a crack at the free ATR challenge on the basis someone has to win my selections are :

2.30 Emperor Claudius . I think this O'Brien horse might have room for improvement and a solid 11/2 in the market.

3.05 Campanologist. Ideally would like to oppose the 1st 2 in the market ( the current favourite being Dr Freemantle) but absolutely nothing stands out so at 5/2/11/4 Campanologist it is.

3.45 I have a feeling Sacred Kingdom is the one to beat but at 12/1 Kingsgate Native looks a reasonable enough price for an ew bet.

4.25 Exclamation. Looks to be certainly overpriced, 25/1 with Hills

5.00 Pires 8/1 with Hills looks a fair enough price

5.35 Oh lord, I cannot see me having a real bet in this very trappy contest but I'm focusing on the Henderson pair of Caraciolla and Tasheba. I'm going to opt for Tasheba which looks rock solid in the market even if 4/1 is not a great price.
