Gents, off to Ascot today. If anyone has any tips for me would be much appreciated!

I see Chris has given his selections here are my thoughts for what they are worth mate....enjoy your day.

1.45 Man of Action looks to be an improving sort and has done nothing wrong, but will be a short price, you could do a lot worse than back Mark Johnstons pair, he has a brilliant record at Ascot, Greyfriarschorista has been tried in the best races this year and despite flopping on his last run there were excuses (he missed the break being one) he also saddles Rule Breaker who dotted up in his maiden win then flopped at Chester, many horses struggle at that track, and at a big price could be worth a punt too.

Selections: Greyfriarschorista and Rule Breaker

2.20 A tricky little race, but a few of these are exposed or may have run their best races already, of those that havent I feel Capaill Liath could continue on the upgrade, he won his last start readily and could win this with Rojo Boy remaining a maiden and chasing him home.

Selection: Capaill Liath

2.50 A couple of fancied non runners make this a little easier to work out, but apart from the pace maker a case can be made for every runner, Jeremy Nosedas horses are in good form, Forgotten Voice has run below the level he showed last year, but his last run looks fair form and hints at a return to form, he finished behing Invisible Man and that form is stacking up well now with a fair few winners coming from that, so it's a tentative tip for Forgotten Voice.

Selection: Forgotten Voice

3.30 Favorites have a good record in this race and the likely favourite Dubai bounty looks to have a great chance, he chased home Berling on his latest start, and that horse has franked the form since then, he is also lighlty raced and improvement should be expected.

Selection:Dubai Bounty

4.05 As Chris said Sarasota Sunshine will be an odds on favourite here, so it may be best to look each way for something else, and to be fair Perfect Friend who finished close to Sarasota Sunshine hasn't exactly franked the form so a surprise may be in store, Faithful One is consistent and should again run well, but Waveband showed some good form as a two year old, she looked as if returning to form last time out and if pinging out in front here she may make the favourite work and possibly keep her head in front.

Selection:Waveband

4.40 Archers Road looked better than ever having his first run for Barron, winning on less than perfect ground (his previous best runs / wins had been on firm / good ground) he has only been raised a pound for that win and you would think he would have come on for that...come on you Archers.

Selection:Archers Road

5.15 The lucky last, if you have any money left by this time, it may be worth putting it on Rapid Water, he looked unlucky last time out and having won at this course and at this distance he should run well for Andrew Balding

Selection:Rapid Water

Good luck and have fun

Well I'm pretty sure it is better than nothing Russ! I'll probably back Rapid Water but another 2 hours of analysis to go yet. I should also warn you if you didn't see above I had a storming day yesterday which probably means a lousy one today ;)

Main thing of course is enjoy the day, beautiful weather so hard not to enjoy.

Rapid Water the NAP then Frankie:D

Seems we agree on nought else though I always keep an eye open for Capaill Laith, just too short for me today. The 4.05 has ony 7 runners, the usual W/D making sure of that and I can't recall ever playing ew when it's first two only. Not sure why though !

York looks a really tricky card and as with always on a Saturday stakes will be at a minimum unless otherwise noted.

York.

2.00 Cornus is in brilliant form he beat Red Cape easily last time out, he has been raised 6 pounds for that win, but with Declan Cannon back on board claiming five pounds that rise is significantly less and I take him to continue his good winning form.

2.30 Day of the Eagle was badly hampered last time out before finishing down the field, he will want to bounce back to form but Luca Cumani is in a bit of a bleak run at the moment, Webbow I am sure will run his usual consistent / game race and finished runner up in this last year, but I think he may be vulnerable to an improver, Mark Johnston has been mopping up this one mile races recently and he has an interesting runner in Capponi, despite a lack of experience he beat some useful types recently, he is well bred and open to further improvement.

3.05 I hate to go for favourites in these big handicaps but Imposing screams off the page at me, he is a typical Stoute type, he was unlucky last time out and should have won, he won over course and distance previously on his seasonal debut, Stoutes horses normally need a couple of runs before they are fully wound up, if that is the case he should win this before going on to better things.

3.40 I fancy Deauville Flyer to take this but will probably wait and see what prices are available.

Thats the TV races sorted as for the others

4.15 Nicolas Dream

5.25 Bachelor Knight...but again will wait and see the price nearer the race.

Nottingham 4.20 Frank Street

Chester.

3.20 Captain Dunne

3.55 Simonside

Good luck

An ok day in all, great tip from Bungle, his single selection Premio Loco won nicely at Ascot at 4/1, I managed to tip Waveband at 12/1, apart from that everything else I tipped at Ascot ran poorly, elsewhere I had Capponi who was well backed and won at 3/1, Frank Street at Nottingham was my only selection and obliged at 100/30 (went to 100/1 in running on BF) but the most gutting results came at Chester where I tipped Captain Dunne and Simonside but both were beaten by a short head and a head.

On to this evening Salisbury looks a nice card and I fancy a few there.

Salisbury

6.15 Goodwood Treasure

6.45 Kuanyao

7.20 Sir Rocky

8.25 Higgy's Ragazzo

8.55 Frances Stuart.

Hamilton

7.00 Haajes

Take care all, have a good Saturday night whatever you may be doing.

Not a bad night, Kuanyo won at 4/1 Haajes was well backed and obliged at 3/1 and even Chris O managed to open his account for the day with Stellite winning at 13/2 (A great prcie considering Goldie is in such good form) my evening would have been even better but for 2 seconds in Higgy's Ragazza and Frances Stuart.

3 meetings tomorrow all summer jumping meets, a few of interest though and will post those tomorrow

Ahem, meaning what exactly confused0024.gif

After banging in the winners yesterday I wasn't expecting Saturday to be any great shakes. As it was from my eventual selections Demolition Man race a nice race to at least return my stake @ 9/1, Shernando ran well to finish 4th @ 17/2 ( would not have won but checked several times, not Joe Fanning's greatest ride TBH), Prohibit only just failed to get up, 3rd by a neck and a head, Lunjano/Kildare Sun were truly abyssmal as was Youm Al Mizazin though only backed him at 18/1 as a MC runner and the favourite was too short. Dubai Media duly did get turned over at 4/6 but didn't see Christmas Lights coming early:D

Bahamian Lad was disappointing as was our joint fancy Rapid Water, Lucy Brown ran her race at 14/1 but of course I saved the best till last ! Stellite was just over 8/1 on BF and a 10 year old winning over any other distance than 7 furlongs for the FIRST time was a tremendous effort and made my day regardless of anything else and that explains the price ( do keep up Frankie  ) !!

Anyway well done Bungle, I only came on to see who eventually backed what though aside from Frank Street no Frankie tips are registering;)

Who on earth was stupid to want to lay Frank Street at 100/1 in running, Guga was surely travelling well in front but it was no surprise that he failed to see it out, shame I don't bother with this in running malarkey !

Anyway lets see what Sunday brings, hopefully an explanation from Frankie will start the day, you really can go off people

He He sorry Chris what I meant was that it was such a poor race, and despite Stellite being 10 years old and never having won at the distance he was still a good price considering the poor opposition and the form of the goldie yard ]

I have even laid to rest the voodoo of tipxchange, posted them yesterday for the first time in ages and showing a nice little profit, so onwards and upwards I say.

As I stated yesterday its 3 summer jumping cards today, seems strange on a Sunday but still racing for change and all that

Starting at Perth, it seems crazy to oppose Gordon Elliott, his string are firing at the moment, he is the top trainer here and although his horses wont be great prices he runs 5 here with great chances and you could do much worse than stick them in multiples, one of the races that does not feature an Elliot horse is:

4.10 I like the look of Island Flyer, Trainer Tom George has brought him on a 784 mile round trip for this race and it is his only runner, there are a couple of negatives, his recent rules form hasnt been great (been running well in points) and he hasnt run on ground this fast before so may not run, if he does I think he could be good value.

Stratford

2.00 whenwehadmoney (Now a non runner, the weight of my money must have scared the trainer) and Quidam Blue look good value against the likely market leaders, both trainers are in good form, Whenwehadmoney looked to be going the right way on his last run and has a nice low weight, Quidam Blue hasnt been making great shakes in NH flat races but now stuck over jumps there could be imrovement, and at the price it is worth a few quid to see.

3.00 With the favourite dropping back in trip and being a little inconsistent it may pay to side with Wheelavit, he is in great form, loves this ground and has won over course and distance, he is on a career high mark but can defy that today.

4.00 Wont be having a massive bet here, but two to keep an eye on are Argyll for Jeff Pearce and Ariel Bender for Donald McCain, both are making there jumping debuts, but the most interesting thing is despite running for shrewd jumping yards they have both been running over sprint distances on the flat, so at huge odds on Betfair I will chance a couple of pound on each and watch how they run with interest (probably awful)

4.30 Cloonavery remains a maiden, but has some good placed form including finishing second in this race last year, he has a nice low weight and his trainer is in good form, lets hope he can register his first jumps win today.

Southwell

2.20 A tricky little opener, but I am going to chance my arm with Tropical Bachelor, he has shown much improved form on the flat of late, and if he can transfer that to jumping he would have a great chance.

2.50 Basically a two runner race and it is with Flying Doctor that I have to side, he has had a great season and owes connections nothing, he has a similar profile to The Ferbane Man but hopefully can come out on top in an intriguing battle.

4.20 A cracking little race with a case to be made for most runners, the one I side with is Restart, he has been rejuvenated in his last two runs winning twice over this course and distance, while horse are in such good form they pay to be followed, hopefully he can complete his hattrick of course wins here today.

So thats it a good days racing, all on At the Races too, so if your fed up with the sun, get a few quid on the horses, curl up on the settee and hopefully win a few quid.

Quite pathetic attempt to explain yourself, truly:D

I could have a field day here but having, for the 1st time in years, actually slept beyond 7am, until 10am when my Mum rang and woke me up, I'm just eating breakfast.

However, I can't less pass Stellite, for sure he was a good price which is kind of what you are looking for when backing horses:rolleyes: Well I look for value anyway rather than sticking pins in the Racing Post ( and quite probably then making voodoo dolls of every horse I'm opposing ) or deciding some stupid name is the key.

But now to start saying you have to edit a post as the stupid "smileys" aren't working, words fail me. I can only imagine its a precursor to using the "smileys" as some kind of excuse for losing tips, "Oh, I was only joking when I tipped that but the winky "smiley" thing didn't work!". Classic

I'll look at your tips properly after breakfast and once I have stopped laughing ! Fair to say though I only have 3 fancies at present, sadly none run in any of the races you have covered.

Ok, going to play around with ew doubles and trebles these 3 though Treeko has already been well backed and the early 5/1 gone.

Southwell 3.50 Treeko : Kyle James takes a very valuable seven pounds off the back of this five year old gelding who comes into the race having finished second last time out at Market Rasen. He had Jim Best's Calzaghe behind him that day who has since gone on to win on the flat. Looks almost sure to make the frame at least.

Perth 4.40 Harcas 2 point win, 1 point place : Connections are reportedly expecting a huge run from this Martin Todhunter trained eight year old who is a previous course and distance winner and who comes into the race having finished fifth last time out. Currently around 10/1

Stratford 5.00 Sadlers Star 2 point win, 1 point place: The recent recruit to the training ranks Michael Blake saddles this seven year old gelding who won last time out at Worcester and is a previous course and distance winner. Expected to go well, also around the 10/1 mark, drifting slightly though.

Good luck,

This seriously looks like a challenge you are laying down here Chris. If its a challenge you want, what do you say about having a tipping competition, start a new thread, we choose one horse (a nap) each day on that thread and see how we get on......the only rule being that the horse has to have an sp of over 2/1...

Let the challenge and banter begin (and the possible ridicule from others)

Hang on a second, is this a tipping challenge with just you setting the rules, well one main rule but well and truly adhering to the KISS principle which isn't for me:D

I used to administer a much more advanced tipping challenge on a service called Relay Racing, was good fun though some of the bets ( forecasts for example) were not so easy to settle. I reckon that first you set up the thread, then WE and anyone else discuss how to operate it and then we go !

Cheers for the tips yesterday gents. Man of Action just didn't have enough, but a nice win for Premier Loco (right up against the rail as well), just abut covered me for the day.

I'm on for Sadlers Star today, let's see if I can end the wkd in profit...

As long as you had a good day, shame you weren't on Waveband but glad Premier Loco did oblige, tipped by Bungle but also highlighted in my analysis of the race blowing yet another massive hole in Frankie's cheap shots:D

Didn't actually see the race and it's missing from the ATR replays which is annoying.

I fear now though if Frankie is also on Sadler's Star it has no chance !!

A strange day Elliott had just the one winner Flying Doctor ran as if needing a rest, two at big prices that ran ok were Quidam Blue and Ariel Bender, Island Flyer ran ok but tired and the winner won very well, Restart was a little unlucky and as for Tropical Bachelor, he should remain on the flat...Not a great Sunday but very small stakes, seemed bizarre having 3 jumps meetings., will soon be Glorious Goodwood, though definitely going on the first day Tuesday, so if any forumites are going be nice to meet in Chichester for a beer.

Frankie...Come on Holland (had them at 12/1 at the start of the competition...just a tenner, was going to lay off but not thrill in that )

Going to be doing an ew Yankee these 4. However, main bet is on Drifting Gold @ 10/1 on Betfair. I'd be amazed if this price holds up and 10/1 looks great value.

Ayr 14:30 Speedy Senorita

Ayr 15:00 Requisite

Wind 18:10 Drifting Gold NAP

Wolv 20:20 Bold Hawk

Aside from Drifting Gold another day I'm not planning to get heavily involved in.

Good luck,

Shame you didn't have more on Holland though even £10 @ 12/1 you could have either layed them or backed Spain for a guaranteed profit of course.

Tricky evening cards but a few that I think may run well are:

Windsor

6.40 Pineapple Pete (Small stake on Place and Chips too)

7.40 Face the Problem

8.10 Vegas Palace

8.40 On Her Way

Monday seems to be a good night for me regarding racing at the moment, after a good Monday last week, tonight wasn't too bad either.

At Windsor Face the Problem ( 4/1 ) and On Her Way ( 9/1 ) won, both making quite a good impression in the process, of the others Vegas Palace was given a very interesting ride by Richard Kingscote and could be worth following.

At Wolverhampton I didnt have a winner but Two O Clock John and Goodbye Cash finished 3rd and Mr Rainbow ran 2nd, In Two O Clock Johns race I did have a sneaky couple of pound on Moscow Oznic due to my girlfriend being called Nics...... tenuous I know but occasionally the name thing works, so all in all a good day, shame I didnt have time to post selections on Tip Exchange.

Had a look at Tuesday's meetings and here are my thoughts.

Beverley

3.30 Tillietudlum has been in great form, but this is his hardest race this season and I feel he may find at least one too good. Markington is a fantastic dual purpose horse he has a rating of 116 over jumps and is no slouch on the flat either, he gamely won last time out and has stamina in abundance, Peter Bowen does well with his flat runners and Markington can make his mark in a good little contest.

4.30 The Name is Frank i'll be lambasted by Chris O for this selection but if he can overcome his poor draw he doesnt have a bad chance.

5.30 Probably need my head examined touching a lady amateur rider race, but I fancy a horse at a biggish price, Tropical Duke has won over course and distance, plus he won a similar contest last year for todays rider. He looked like he needed his two runs this season and should be a lot fitter for today.

Brighton

2.40 I am sure Piazza San Pietro will give his usual consistent performance, but I was really impressed by the way Forest Dane won over course and distance last time out, he found plenty of trouble in running but still quickened to win quite cosily...Tom Queally keeps the partnership intact and will hope for another win.

3.40 I have followed Eywa this season and to be honest had expected her to break her maiden tag by now, but she seems to have found some trouble in running and still shows signs of greenness, if she can get her act together the handicapper has her on a very low mark and lets hope she can break her maiden tag today.

So just a few fancies on a tricky looking afternoon...good luck all

Yep, as per Tip Exchange, My Name is Frank duly noted but it's not really a race I'd want to get involved with at all so I'll let the result say it all other than you are clearly working on the theory every horse has it's day though Frank has had 2 days already in 35 races ;)

Very best of luck !

Looks a fair day's racing and I few I like this afternoon:

Brig 14:10 Joss Stick 3 point win win, 2 point place/ Best One 2 point win 1 point place- I think both these horses look good value so playing on both though at 40/1 on BF at present Joss Stick does look very good value, only 16/1 with Stan James and William Hill

Bev 15:00 Handsome Falcon/Avonrose: Again 2 I really like in this race with preference for Handsome Falcon. The Richard Fahey-trained pick sees out this trip really well, goes on the ground and has two course wins to his name, so he has plenty going for him. He races from the same mark as when a close fourth here last time and he looks just about good enough from a high draw to enjoy his first win of the season. Avonrose trained by Mark Johnston runs off a very low mark so can't dismiss though is rather inclined to be lazy so hopefullyRoyston Ffrench can cajole him into getting involved when it matters.

Bev 15:30 My Arch : Tillietudlem is likely to be all the rage having won five of his last six starts but this is a stronger race than he has been competing in and he turns out for the fifth time in four weeks. At over double his price, topweight My Arch is preferred. He was off the track for 18 months prior to reappearing in October but has returned in very good heart. Having won on his first attempt over fences in his second run back he has done little wrong in three races on the flat since. He won from a mark of 77 in this grade over 14 furlongs at Musselburgh and followed that with two seconds over two miles in better races from marks of 80 and 81. His head defeat by Dayia at haydock last time out looks very good form in the context of this race. He has a career high mark of 85 to contend with but he is unexposed over this sort of trip and there may be more to come. His only previous visit to this track saw him win over ten furlongs back in 2006, He acts on any ground and four of his five victories have come on right-handed tracks. The yard have a 31% strike rate at this track yieldinga l.s.p of £52.

Bev 16:00 Piddies Power : Been well supported this morning and that may well tell it's own story now he runs in handicap company.

Bev 16:30 Kyzer Chief 2 point win, 1 point place : The Name is Frank seems to have got the message and has decided not to run, last seen trudging slowly west along the M3 ! Kyzer Chief has been disappointing in his last three outings but as a result the five pound drop in the weights sees him six pounds below the mark from which he went close on his only previous run over this C/D. He is not badly drawn in stall ten and he has the tactical speed to get a good early pitch. The booking Of Silvestre De Sousa looks a positive move and, although the selection has a poor win record, he could run into a place at least under his optimum conditions. @ around 12/1.

Bev 17:30 Tropical Duke 2 point win, 1 point place : Well I must be mad too since not only am I getting involved here I'm replicating Frankie's selection ! Tropical Duke has run poorly in both his races this season but it's possible they were both needed. He may have been aimed at this race because his two best performances have come under today's jockey, the only times she has been on board. He ran out an easy winner over this C/D from just a two pound lower mark last September and followed that with a decent third from a five pound higher mark at Redcar. If he returns to that kind of form he would have a serious chance against horses who mainly find it easier to place than win on turf.

Good luck, am keeping a check on Harcas who runs in the 8.50 at Musselburgh, has attracted some support but nothing as yet to suggest he will improve on his disappointing run last time out.

Probably as good as it will get today but Best One won @ 12/1. Wish we had started the tipping challenge now!

Though I was certain not to have put Best One as my NAP or nb.

Nicely done Chris, with The Name is Frank pulling out due to the weight of money behind it (How often does that happen when I tip a horse) I managed the one winner this afternoon, the ever reliable Markington was well backed and obliged at 4/1 so not a bad day. Bimey didn't notice but Tropical duke was backed into favouritism then withdrawn with two others...can you shed any light on this Chris?

Harcas was 3rd at 9/1 Shunkawakhan came second at 14/1 Always Dazzling ran well to be 3rd at 10/1 Wreningham Ran well to be 2nd at 6/1....so one winner and 4 horses placed at decent odds....Still can't grumble as it shows i'm reading the races ok.

On to Wednesday and not bad racing either....as per usual on a Wednesday I have footy training so will be posting evening selections too.

Catterick

3.20 Mark Prescott doesnt run many horses in claimers so Cheyenne Chant has to be respected, he has shown little this year but a drop in class and the first time blinkers could have the desired effect...this looks a tough claimer but Cheyenne Chant is the tentative selection.

4.20 Allanah Abu has a cracking chance in this but will be prohibitive odds, so it might pay to look for a little value, Mark Johnstons stable are flying at the moment and must be respected so it is with The Mighty Mod that I side, to be fair he has shown little form and is still a maiden but he ran creditably last time out after a break and will strip fitter today, he has been ridden with restraint in his previous races and maybe a change of tactic by making him handy from the start may also see some improvement.

Lingfield.

4.30 The best race at Lingfield today, a wide open little 1 mile contest, Benandonner has had the form franked behind Ginger Jack, but I fancy Mr Willis to run well, he looked a really good type last season especially running round Lingfield where he won over course and distance twice, he has had excuses for his poor runs this year, non more so than having a real bumping match at the start of a big Sandown handicap, this smaller field, and liking for Lingfield should see him go well at a nice price.

Uttoxeter

2.40 Holoko Heights looks a tricky ride, but hopefully Richard Johnson can get a good tune out of him as I think this one time useful flat performer has potential in the jumping sphere.

3.10 Mad Jack Duncan has been flying in point to points, Lawney Hill is doing a great job with other peoples cast offs and can continue that run here.

Kempton (Eve)

6.50 A tricky little nursery with Godolphin and Hannon having fancied runners, but it is Clive Brittains, Yarooh that interests me, she won her maiden in good style before being upped in class at Royal Ascot, back down in class and up in trip lets hope we see a return to form, the stable are in good form and jockey Neil Callan has ridden her the last twice including for her win.

Getting late...i'm knackered so just selections now...sorry

7.50 Serhaal

8.20 Miss Glitters

Worcester

9.10 Fade to Grey.

So not too many to be honest which is possibly a good thing, good luck all

I haven't seen the race Frankie but will look at it later.

It wasn't a bad day at all, in fact according to the TE I made 12 points profit.

I did, as you will see, also want to oppose Tillietudlemin the 3.30 at Beverley and from 2, My Arch and Markington, I chose the former but at least one of us found the winner and even though I did finish the day in profit I'm also happy when I manage to read a race pretty well.

Tips for today soon and then definitely at least one hours kip !

Just 3 tips so far and the 1st doesn't run until 5.00 so I might add some more detailed analysis later.

Ling 17:00 Freddies Girl 2point win, 1 point place : Stef Higgins trains this three year old who raced over five furlongs last time out but is switched back to six Today a move that hopefully will pay dividends and he should make the frame at least

19:50 Kemp Pebblesonthebeach 2 point win 1 point place : Michael Hills is on board this three year old gelding for trainer John Hills and having been off since his reappearance fifth at Epsom I suspect connections are hoping for a very good run today.

Kemp 20:20 Red Somerset 3 point win 2 point place : The excellent Andrea Atzeni has the task of guiding this Michael Murphy trained seven year old home Tonight over the mile trip. I expect the pace to be fast and furious and for him to come home late with a wet sail. and hopefully record another course and distance success.

Good luck

Oh no, the dream team has divided opinion on the 8.20 at Kempy. I fancy 2 others, straight win on Shamir and an each way play on Miss Glitters. Thankfully, I think, we are united on Freddies Girl, looks good value to me.

Hi ho Silver!!

To be honest it is of course a wide open race and much may depend on how the race is run, at least there is a fair chance one of us will find the winner though Frankie has tipped Miss Glitters as well so if you haven't placed a bet already don't !

Just think TD and 2 others refused to go into the stalls and therefore W/D and all bets on them null and void, probably a nightmare to calculate the actual returns of the winner and placed horses with I think 3 rule 4 deductions ! NO rule 4 on the tipping challenge though of course N/R's and W/D horses void the bet.

A few more for today :

4.20 - Catterick - Marsh's Gift - 2 point win, 1 point place @ 25/1 (General)

The Prescott trained Allanah Abu, with Paul Hannagan booked, brings the best form to the table and is open to improvement. The yard have a good strike rate at the track but their inmate is priced accordingly at around 6/4. Magic Millie has been running to a consistent level and finally got her head in front last time out at Beverley. The step up to 12 furlongs for the first time could illicit further improvement. However, at a much bigger price, a small wager on Marsh's Gift could produce a return. Form figures of 0008 don't inspire confidence at first glance but, after three quick appearances in Maidens over 7/8 furlongs, there was more encouragement stepped up to ten furlongs on his handicap debut at Redcar last time out. He only finished 8/14, beaten just over six lengths, but he was doing all his best work late on without his jockey being hard on him. A further step up in trip could suit and it's interesting to note that connections have not been afraid to raise him in class. Although he has been ridden by competent claimers so far he gets professional handling for the first time today and, although it has come at a lowly level, he has improved with each outing to date. He needs to significantly progress again to be involved here but he didn't look a horse devoid of ability at Redcar and he has the scope for physical improvement. The yard have a had a few well backed over the past week suggesting that maybe they are running into form.

4.30 - Lingfield - Mr Willis -@ 7/1 (General) NAP

Mr Willis endured a torrid time at Sandown last time out where he met trouble several times in the first furlong. That seemed to light him up somewhat and, overall, the run is probably best forgiven. He ran an eye-catching race in the Buckingham Palace Handicap at Ascot prior to that suggesting he is still very much at the top of his game. His returns to the polytrack at Lingfield today where he has a 5 from 8 record in handicaps. He drops back in grade after finishing midfield in his two most recent A/W outings in Jan/Feb and he could take advantage from what still looks an attractive handicap mark. His regular A/W jockey returns and the presence of a few prominent/front runners should ensure s decent gallop, which will suit. He is still relatively unexposed over today's trip and looks better value than a short priced favourite who could face competition for the lead.

8.50 - Kempton - Fadbh Ar Bith - 2 point win, 1 point place @ 11/1 (Skybet)

Fadh Ar Bith was absent for 20 months prior to returning for new connections at Southwell in April. He showed he retained plenty of ability by finishing third when unfancied from a mark of 69. It's possible he suffered the 'bounce' back at the same venue over a mile next time out but he was back on track when going down less than a length in fourth at Beverley over seven furlongs last month. He travelled well, settling better, and responded well to pressure in the latter stages. The handicapper has left him on a mark of 69 which could be lenient considering the race contained some reliable yardsticks of whom the first, second and fifth have all run well since. After only eight races as a five year old the selection has the potential to improve again and his only previous race on polytrack resulted in a victory on his debut back in December 2007.

9.20 - Kempton - Dilys Maud - 2 point win, 1 point place @ 20/1 (General)

Dily's Maud makes her handicap debut after three quick outings in Maidens. She was disappointing over six furlongs last time out at Warwick but had earlier shown ability over a mile at Lingfield. She wouldn't be badly handicapped judged on that effort and it looks worth risking that she can reproduce it back on a polytrack surface. Her Sister, Buxton, has proved fairly useful in a 51 race career and has winning form on the A/W from a mark as high as 80. Dily's Maud starts from a mark of 64 so there could be some room to manoeuvre. The yard have a dismal record at this track (3 from 112) but their representative is a big price in a race which lacks strength in depth.

Good luck all,

Chris

Hi ho Silver!!

Freddies Girl ran a good race but just failed by a head to at least get me my place money, finishing in 4th. Frankie had a nice winner in Holoko Heights @ 9/2 and though Mad Jack Duncan obliged as well @ 2/1 by a neck I won't deny at that price I thought it was a silly bet ! Maybe Frankie has other ideas or hopefully got a bigger price ( 4/1? ) so looking forward to reading his thoughts:D
