saint_stevo Posted 3 July, 2010 Share Posted 3 July, 2010 i ended up getting back in the game with an e/w treble on Acrostic, Twice over and Decorative, all came in apart from Decorative which was, for some reason a NR. Money back?

chrisobee Posted 4 July, 2010 Share Posted 4 July, 2010 (edited) Finally ! For now : Haydock 2.15 : Would like to oppose short priced favourite Berling @ 4/6 but he looks way ahead of the handicapper. With only 7 going to post no real sense going ew though Anhar @7/1 is an excellently bred colt and might cause an upset so worth considering for a small bet/forecast. Chris Now that was just silly. 2 NR's, Berling goes off at 2/5, Anhar amazingly at 10/1 so no need in the end to even think about whether to have a bet on Anhar. A no brainer, result Anhar wins at 10/1, Berling 4th at 2/5.The bookies were clearly influenced by something, I have to assume it was weight of support for Berling not that I really care. Just wish now I'd had a £100 on instead of £10 !! Edited 4 July, 2010 by chrisobee Thought Berling was 3rd, was actually 4th !
chrisobee Posted 4 July, 2010 Share Posted 4 July, 2010 Worst tip ever! Had a bit on Twice Over, so profit for today! Based on the trends I mentioned above which tend to be very useful in these big races Twice Over was, as I stated, well in and duly obliged though managed to cause a few flutters idling close home. Mawatheeq decided not to run so got my money back but a rule 4 on Twice Over but I can live with that !
chrisobee Posted 4 July, 2010 Share Posted 4 July, 2010 i ended up getting back in the game with an e/w treble on Acrostic, Twice over and Decorative, all came in apart from Decorative which was, for some reason a NR. Money back? Definitely would have been treated as an ew double. This is usually the case with multiple bets though in something like the Scoop 6 or Placepots if you have a N/R it's replaced by the favourite, where there are joint favs, the lowest racecard number comes into effect. (ie. no.3.= 5/2jf & no.4 = 5/2jf, you'd be on horse no.3).

frankie Posted 5 July, 2010 Share Posted 5 July, 2010 ''Tell me why i dont like Mondays'' A few tips all terrible today....i'm bored so for this evenings rubbish i'm going small wagers and attempting to go right through the card :-) Should be fun. 6.40 Had a bit of a headache as I fancied C'mon You Irons...now he's a non runner so the extremely consistent Piazza San Pietro is my selection for the in form Haynes stable. 7.10 Wide open maiden stakes, mad to have a bet in this so i'm going for Aldwick Bay, who finished in the mid field on his debut but wasnt bashed about too much and will hopefully improve. 7.40 Desert Poppy may be better in future runs, but at the price I have to chance that he will be fit and ready to reproduce his form of last year. 8.10 I expected Abergavenny to be favourite on his handicap debut, he is not so is my selection, plus I went there on holiday when I was younger. 8.40 A couple of big priced outsiders catch the eye and may well sneak a win if the main protaganists do not run as expected....Bernie's Moon is improving with every run and his experience could be invaluable (plus Bernie is my brothers name) and Spirit of Darley for the in-form Clive Brittain yard was just 7/2 on its last run so must be well thought of, hopefully she can show a bit more ability here. 9.10 The lucky last selection goes with Cereal Killer, his form is in and out but if in form he could feature at the business end. Ripon 6.50 An awful race and difficult to work out which horse is less rubbish than the others....using powers of deduction and a special pointy pen i've gone for Market Puzzle, because it's a puzzle trying to fathom out this race. 7.20 Mother Jones has the form figures 66 and ran 66 days ago...surely a sign of the devil at work and a definite back for me, in fact I might lump my bank on it..... 7.50 Mr Angry has the necessary form, trainer and jockey to take this race, one of the better races in that all four runners have a chance, but Mr Angry looks on a nice mark. 8.20 I often follow horses that have the 3 day rule, this is a horse that ran 3 days ago and then comes out again, Nubar Boy fits this profile, he hasnt really shown too much form since joining Evans but was keen last time out and hopefully the visor can bring about some improvement in an open race. 8.50 Polish world keeps defying the handicapper and his opponents, he looks to be up against it here but must be backed until the handicapper has him in his grip, hopefully that won't be yet. 9.20 Godolphin should win this but Bursary for Mark Johnston could take advantage of any weaknesses in the fav. Right there we go, through the cards on a pretty dire evenings racing :-) Frankie

frankie Posted 5 July, 2010 Share Posted 5 July, 2010 (edited) Well I should be bored on a Monday evening and try to go through the card more often, not just because I had a fair few winners, but barring Aldwick Bay which was well backed then tenderly ridden again, every horse gave me a run for my money...so briefly Windsor 6.40 Piazza San Pietro - won 7/2 7.10 Aldwick Bay - nowhere but one to watch 7.40 Desert Poppy - Won 6/1 8.10 Abergevanny - Won 8/1 !!!! 8.40 Bernies Moon - Rubbish sorry got this mixed up with another horse when watching the race. 9.10 Cereal Killer - Ran well to finish fourth at 12/1 Ripon 6.50 Market Puzzle - Won 11/2 7.20 Mother Jones - 3rd 6/1 7.50 Mister Angry - hacked up (won) at 5/4 8.20 Nubar Boy - 2nd 10/1 a much improved effort today, visor made a difference. 8.50 Polish World - 3rd 2/1 Blasted out of the stalls and maybe went too hard early on, or handicapper may have in grip now. 9.20 Bursary - 2nd 11/4 Ran a nice race, looks one to keep an eye on. So a return to form for Frankie on a dire Monday evening :-) Frankie Edited 5 July, 2010 by frankie spellings sorry
frankie Posted 5 July, 2010 Share Posted 5 July, 2010 Tuesday doesnt look to be any great shakes, but a couple of horses with reasonable chances are: Pontefract: 4.00 Flora Trevelyan will be a skinny price, but was extremely impressive last time out, she walked all over Ithinkbest, Dunn'o and Invisible Man, who have come out and franked the form since. Flora is still lightly raced and could still improve. Thats it for Ponte i'm afraid Wolverhampton / Dunstall Park. 2.15 In a race full of exposed types I go for handicap debutante Lucas Pitt, he comes here on a low mark and his form behind Sir Frank Wappat looks decent. 3.15 Bivouac rattled up a hattrick before disappointing when trying for a fourth win, that race may have come too soon, after a break he should show better form and take a hand here. 5.15 It is hard to assess the form of Home Sweet Home, who is having his first run here after being bought over from Hungary, H Dunlop has good form at this track and looking at the early market he is at least expected to give a good run. Thats it for daytime selections, the evening looks even less encouraging, but you never know I might try and go through the card again :-) Frankie
chrisobee Posted 5 July, 2010 Share Posted 5 July, 2010 Frankie So a return to form for Frankie on a dire Monday evening :-) Frankie Indeed, much better ! Bursary did run well but a little too freely early on it looked to me so might well have been the winner but for that. Nubar Boy ran a nice race too to go along with your winners. I will confess I wasn't cheering on Mother Jones having wowed to give up horse race tipping altogether if that thing won based on your 666 theory, absurd:D Good luck tomorrow, not at all certain to get involved. chrisobee Posted 10 July, 2010 Share Posted 10 July, 2010 Gents, off to Ascot today. If anyone has any tips for me would be much appreciated! Ok, quickly will give one per race though only just started my analysis and Saturday is always the hardest day of the week ! 1.45 Ascot, Citrus Star @ 6/1:- noted working well on the Cambridge Road Polytrack (7fl), with other interesting Chris Wall handicappers Rafiqa & Plaisterer 2.20 ? Not really an easy race at all. If you want a bet Mick Channon's Saucy Buck at around 16/1 is worth an interest at least. 2.50 - See analysis below 3.30 Also very tricky, stick a pin the race card, see where it ends up ! Otherwise without any real conviction I'd probably opt for Danehill Sundance, a two time winner this year @ around 7/1 4.05 You don't really want to be backing horses at odds on so trying to oppose Saratosa Sunshine who is around 8/11. Only 7 run so no real point in my opinion going ew, Faithful One @ 5/1 is very consistent. 4:40 Ascot, Prohibit @9/2: - ran a cracker latest at Windsor in hot Cl2 handicap, when disadvantaged (pulled out widest of all from favoured stands rail at widest configuration), running on gamely and not beaten far. Well ahead of mark. Also Present Alchemy @11/4 , well suited by a stiff 5 furlongs on fast ground, short of room at Sandown he prospered at Beverley forging clear and looks well capable of defying a 7lb rise. A grand sort physically and well-regarded at home. 5.15 Rapid Water @ around 5/1 2.50 Summer Mile Stakes Pace & market report: The Summer Mile (G2, Ascot) 2.50 Alexandros is a G3 winner but probably wants 9fl these days on fast ground. He also tends to be buried mid-division which isn't necessarily a plus on the round course. Dream Eater seems to have gone forward after a wind op and is weighted to reverse form with Pressing. He is held up and has Dingaan to encourage a strong pace - but he got there too late in the Queen Anne and on the round course is always liable to meet trouble up the inner or arrive too late switched wide and needs the breaks. Vertigineaux stays a mile on soft, and was a close up 2nd to Archipenko in a G3 on gd-firm at Nad Al Sheba (2009). Archipenko happens to be a prior winner of this and soft ground types also have an odd habit of prospering here, but this needs a career best. Pressing is an all-round model of consistency, nicely drawn to go forward and sit handy. The yard is respected, and despite shouldering a penalty could easily wind up in the mix from that forward position, albeit likely to find one too good. Ouqba and Premier Loco are prime candidates. Ouqba thrived over the winter and showed significant improvement in the Lockinge, so his run in the Queen Anne was unexpected and too bad to be true. We need to establish what went wrong because The Lockinge run is probably the best piece of recent form on offer. Premio Loco stays a mile on good ground, handles faster conditions and this should suit. He's sometimes buried mid-division but is capable of being ridden more prominently. Chris Wall has him in career best form, taking the G3 Criterion Stakes at Newmarket (26/06), conceding weight all round. The main query is whether this comes too soon. Good luck, don't go broke but enjoy:D
labibs Posted 10 July, 2010 Share Posted 10 July, 2010 Chris, great stuff thanks mate. Not an easy day I agree, I had a look at the form last night, but nothing was jumping out at me, so I thought I'd fish for a few tips! Definitely not going big stakes today... Cheers Russ

Cheers Russ Well I'm pretty sure it is better than nothing Russ! I'll probably back Rapid Water but another 2 hours of analysis to go yet. I should also warn you if you didn't see above I had a storming day yesterday which probably means a lousy one today Main thing of course is enjoy the day, beautiful weather so hard not to enjoy.
