chrisobee Posted 11 June, 2010 Share Posted 11 June, 2010 (edited) Nothing really outstanding again today but a few of interest : Sand 14:40 Special Quality NAP : Looks progressive and if transferring AW form to turf will be hard to beat. Dettori is an eye catching booking having a rare run for trainer Robert Cowell. York 14.50 Best Prospect ew @18/1: A wide open race, I think this horse has ability but doesn't always respond well to pressure. Visored first time today which may help, at 18/1 looks good value. Sand 16:25 Bakagu Each Way/At Wits End Bakagu won on seasonal debut before looking to be disappointing at Chester last time out. However, was clearly not suited by the tight turns at Chester and I think that run can be excused. At around 7/1 will probably take the conservative option and go ew on this C&D winner. At Wits End may well have plenty of improvement in him, win bet at around 15/2. York 16.35 Piscean ew @11/1 : Consistent type who ran well when finishing 5th at Sandown last week. Definitely didn't get the run of the race and met all kinds of trouble in the finishing stages. Should have a decent chance with better luck in running, this bet has nothing to do with the fact I'm a Piscean Chep 18:25 Cafe Elektric : Short enough at even money but definitely the one to beat, Joyously looks overpriced at 8/1 with several firms Aint 18:35 Misty Dancer : Only 4 go to post and it would be very surprising if Mighty Matters was anywhere near good enough to win this. Misty Dancer makes most appeal of the rest running over a trip that should suit. 19.20 Goodwood Truism @ 11/2 : Ryan Moore is an interesting jockey booking for this C&D winner. Well backed on seasonal reappearance but ran too freely, hopefully Ryan can work his magic. 19.55 Goodwood Treble Jig : Strongly fancied today though the value has really gone, backed into even money from a best priced 5/2 though the withdrawal of Soul Station was a big factor in that.Beaten last time out but definitely capable of improvement and could well be another winner for the Stoute/Moore combination. 21.00 Goodwood Excellerator @5/1: Plume looks too short at around 5/4 so value looks to be elsewhere. Excellerator is a speedy type who should appreciate this track. Finished 3rd in a listed race at Haydock at seasonal debut. Good luck all, WC starts today, come on England Chris Edited 11 June, 2010 by chrisobee Add tips

chrisobee Posted 12 June, 2010 Share Posted 12 June, 2010 Very random tips today, usual tricky Saturday cards so looking for decent value though it is hard to find. May well do several ew doubles to small stakes. Sand 13:45 Beachfire @7/2 : Beachfire gave the impression there was more to come from him when third on his handicap debut and could come out on top though Revered is respected and looks likely to go close. At 7/2 Beachfire looks the value in this race. York 14:05 Trip The Light Each Way @ 12/1 :Consistent type, posted a career-best effort when landing 1½m Catterick handicap in April. Value for extra when successful in C&D claimer last time, and given chance by handicapper.Has good draw in stall one unlike Mull of Dubai and Crackenthorp and this may well be significant in the outcome. York 14:40 Elliptical Each Way @6/1 : This is an absolute minefield of a race but for the sake of a small interest in this CH4 race I'm going ew on Elliptical. The race he ran behind Tartan Gigha was in a smart time and looks rock solid handicap form. Not seen to best advantage in tactic affair latest and potentially still well ahead of revised mark off a sound gallop. Sand 14:55 Guilded Warrior Each Way @12/1 : Yet another puzzle to sort out, however with the benefit of a very good draw Guilded Warrior could well be overpriced especially based on seasonal reappearance when winning at Leicester. Ran far too freely last time out, hopefully Fergus Sweeney will keep him on a tighter rein today. York 15:15 Midnight Martini Each Way @8/1: Form reads 1112-22 and was very progressive last year. The Easterby yard are in good form and has been prepared for this race.I'd be disappointed if she doesn't at least make the frame. Sand 15:30 Duchess Dora @5/2 : Speedy horse, unbeaten over C&D. Burning Thread, upped in class may be the biggest danger. Bath 15:55 Banks And Braes @ 7/4 : Should appreciate the step up in trip and likely to be there or thereabouts at the finish. Lauberhorn looks the most likely threat. Sand 16:05 Luminous Gold Each Way @16/1 : This five year old mare trained in Newmarket by Chris Wall was a beaten favourite last time she saw the racetrack. She seems to go well fresh and has been working very well at home. Sand 16:40 Flotation Each Way @12/1 ( Bet 365/Hills) : There was plenty to like about the way the Barry Hills newcomer went about her work on her debut at Newmarket and as a half sister to three winners, Flotation is worth a punt against Direct Answer who will not represent value for money at odds on. Sand 17:15 Epsom Salts Each Way @7/1 : Looks well-handicapped at 16fl, ran a cracker at Goodwood when finding trouble. Natural speed and a very game style. May act best on sharp tracks. Leic 17:30 So Belle Each Way @ 8/1 : Not happy when I saw Hugh Taylor has gone for this one as price shortens in a flash ! That said still looks a decent bet, ran very green on debut but showed definite signs of ability and could stand to leave that form behind today. Ling 19:50 Pab Special Each Way @ 8/1: Has dropped to last winning mark and plenty of promise (despite finishing only seventh) over C&D last time to suggest he could strike again soon. Could go well at rewarding odds. Ling 20:20 City Ground @9/2. Kakatosi is a short priced favourite and may well win but at 9/2 with several firms City Ground looks the value in this race. Phew, that should be it ! Have a great day all Chris

chrisobee Posted 12 June, 2010 Share Posted 12 June, 2010 (edited) Just a couple more at decent prices : 2.55 - Sandown - Qannah Parker - @ 14/1 (General) In addition to Guilded Warrior just a small bet on Qannah Park who is relatively lightly raced and didn't run badly on his return, despite looking in need of the race. Went close in both outings over seven furlongs last season and any ease in the ground won't bother him. He has the potential to improve this season and has already shown he can compete fro around today's mark. Stable are rare visitors and send just the one on the long journey south. 3.15 - York: Magical Macey - @ 22/1 (General) Tomintoul Singer -@ 22/1 (General) Midnight Martini remains my main bet but Magical Macey and Tomintoul Singer make some appeal at big prices. Magical Macey comes here on the back of an easy win over five furlongs and may be suited by the step up to six for the first time. He has the profile of an improving sprinter and comes from an in form yard. Could've been better drawn. Tomintoul Singer also has a progressive profile and is better drawn. She got within three lengths of the talented Rose Blossom at York last time out and her best run to date cameover today's trip at Newmarket last season. Note : Magical Macey is a bit of a market anamoly, 33/1 on Betfair but only 11/1 with Ladbrokes, what do they know that we don't !? 5.15 - Sandown - Grey Granite - e/w. @ 11/1 (General) Just a few quid on this as well as Epsom Salts.Has to prove his stamina but if he does get the trip he has the potential to improve after just four outings. Progressed last season and ran respectably on his seasonal/handicap debut over 12 furlongs at Windsor. Ease in the ground will suit on evidence to date and doesn't face much competition for the lead. Stable knows what it takes to get a big priced winner here. 6.20 - Lingfield - Safari Guide - e/w. @ 12/1 (General) It may pay to concentrate on those from double-figure draws, and Safari Guide appeals as much as any. He figures on a handy mark at present and shaped as if this drop to 6f would suit on his recent return. 7.00 - Leicester - Taaresh - @ 9/2 (General) Looks on the upgrade and has a 3 from 12 record so far, two of those wins coming this season. May have raced on the slower ground last time out at beverley and drops back to the grade in which he won at Hamilton in his previous race. Four pound higher mark shouldn't prevent him making a big effort to win again under conditions which look ideal. Yard 2 from 4 here in recent seasons and the jockey 3 from 14 over the same period. chrisobee Posted 13 June, 2010 Share Posted 13 June, 2010 (edited) Well for sure yesterday was a little better than last Saturday when I drew a complete blank ! Was really impressed with Beachfire who didn't look at all keen early on but another excellent ride by William Buick ensured he won nicely going away. 9/2 was a very good price and surprised me. Just a couple for today, really am looking forward to Royal Ascot. Will start a new thread and post a link to the excellent ATR website soon. Stratford 14.10 Saltiagioo @2/1 : Ridden by AP McCoy, Saltagioo looks to hold all the cards after thumping previous winner Souter Point by nine lengths last time, a run which has earned the gelding a mark of 120. Milton Harris’s decision to engage the champ shows he means business and 2/1 is a fair enough price. Salisbury 16.15 Aldwick Bay @ 11/4 ( Bet 365) : This two year old colt by Danehill Dancer has been working well on the Richard Hannon gallops and looks to be the pick of the 3 Hannon horses in the race in the hands of Richard Hughes. Micky Channon's Arabian Star sets a good standard and merits respect. Doncaster 16.35 Reality Show @ evens : Not a great price but looks to have every chance here. Seems to be a few doubts as to whether he'll act on slower ground as opposed to the faster ground at Haydock last time out. However, I reckon the ground was a bit on the quick side that day and he was not helped by a tardy start. If you're looking to take on this short priced favourite then Shubaat and La Concorde are worth considering. Roscommon 17.00 Grand Opera @5/4 : A rare bet for me from Ireland. Grand Opera impressed greatly on his chasing debut, finishing strongly to beat the useful Flag of Honour. Should take all the beating in the capable hands of Barry Geraghty. Charlie Swan's Tribes and Banners looks the pick of the rest. May well do a Yankee these 4. Have a good day all. chrisobee Posted 15 June, 2010 Share Posted 15 June, 2010 Steering away from Ascot for now probably my best/least worst bets of the day are : Thirsk 17:15 Off Chance @7/4 NAP: The prevailing fast ground is pretty well essential if Tim Easterby’s filly is to perform to her best ability and it seems all the boxes are ticked this afternoon. The wonderfully-consistent selection has the beating of her foes on a line through Charlie Cool and after several near-misses she is taken to gain a change of luck. Brig 19:00 Freckenham @ 5/2 : Battle of Britain is a worthy favourite but at a best priced 6/4 my marginal preference is for Freckenham. Good luck, enjoy Ascot Chris

Had a good few days so I'm thinking not to post on here but hey ho here I go Newm 14:45 Top Bid @ 5/1 : Takes a step back up in grade after winning at Nottingham over five furlongs last time out. That followed an easy win over six furlongs at Hamilton on his reappearance and he has obviously returned in very good heart. Had a six week break to freshen him up and he was originally assessed higher than this as a three year old. Looks worth siding with in his current form and with the yard continuing in decent form. Newm15:20 Im A Dreamer @5/2 Newm 15:55 Magical Macey@7/1 Ran better than his finishing position suggests in the Reg Griffin at York last time out where he was forced to race wide of the main action. Reverts back to five furlongs over which he was an impressive winner in his penultimate race at Doncaster. Races from five pound higher here but has the potential to improve further and may not need to find too much more to get involved. Represents last years winning stable. Ayr 17:45 Thatll Do Nicely @9/4 19:20 Back Prince Of Sorrento@ 7/1 : Only been seen six times and showed a reasonable level of form in his first four outings, all on the polytrack. He started off this season on the turf at Sandown and, after finishing last, produced a much better performance at Newbury last time out, where he only gave way late on. Down another two pounds he could come on again for those two outings and it's likely there's better to come. Could be suited by a return to a tight turning track. Good luck, Chris Edited 19 June, 2010 by chrisobee

chrisobee Posted 20 June, 2010 Share Posted 20 June, 2010 Ok, I do have a few for Sunday, concentrating mainly on Pontefract. 3.10 - Pontefract - Follow The Flag - e/w. @ 8/1 : Probably inevitable I would end up backing this horse who doesnt always help himself by racing lazily. However it's hard to knock recent efforts, winning 2 of last 5 starts and not disgraced in warm handicap last time. Should be on the premises once more but with Luc Jordan a likely winner for Cumani/Fallon I'm taking the ew option. 4.20 - Hereford - Miss Saffron - @ 7/2 : A filly I like a lot, has come on leaps and bounds since switching to handicaps and looks to have more to come. A 7lb penalty may prove too lenient. 5.10 - Pontefract:Saxby - @ 11/2 /Scarboro Warning - e/w. @ 40/1 : A Tricky looking race but Saxby is not without ability and wears cheekpieces for the 1st time today. Scarboro Warning is not a horse that can be backed with any great deal of certainty, has a tendency to hang left as shown when finishing 7th last time out. However, based on the form shown on debut not without a chance and 40/1 is too tempting albeit to small stakes. If anyone else is backing anything today good luck, otherwise good luck to me Chris

Follow the Flag ran a nice race for Chris too and finished 2nd at 11/1 Frankie
frankie Posted 20 June, 2010 Share Posted 20 June, 2010 Dross compared to Royal Ascot this Monday, but still money hopefully to be made. Lingfield. 2.45 Sutton Veny was a tempting proposition considering the form she is currently in, but she had things all her own way last time out and may not here, so preference is for Russian spirit for Michael Jarvis, she was well backed last week and still has room for improvement Selection : Russian Spirit 4.45 Kings Masque has been in fantastic form and was very unlucky in defeat last time out (First two 4 lengths clear of rest) Selection :Kings Masque 5.45 Relative Strength ran extremely well in a much hotter race than this last time out, he is without a win for some time, but is now 4 pounds lower than his last victory and looks very well handicapped to take a hand in things here. Selection: Relative Strength Wolverhampton. 3.00 The favourite looks to have an excellent chance, but could well finish second again, I have backed Gra Adhmar on several occasions this year and the switch to the all weather after struggling on grass, plus the booking of Kieran Fallon make this an interesting runner. 3.30 Admin must be worth a go in this grade, at this weight and back to 5 furlongs, he only has to emulate some of his past form to have a good chance here. Thats it for now, but I am looking at a couple more at Wolves.....still deciding wether to do them or not Frankie

Perhaps we should now indeed Follow the Flag, what's in a name ! BTW did you read my PM !? Cheers, Chris
chrisobee Posted 20 June, 2010 Share Posted 20 June, 2010 Dross compared to Royal Ascot this Monday, but still money hopefully to be made. Frankie Monday is generally dross TBH Frankie, they say backing horses on a Monday is for the needy and the greedy ! Well I'm neither and I'm sure you're not either but a few ( lots!!) tips a day keeps the doctor away to completely mix or indeed invent a new metaphor:lol: Chris
chrisobee Posted 20 June, 2010 Share Posted 20 June, 2010 I agree mate, I actually have joined a couple in the past (tipsters), to be honest they seem to follow a pattern I learnt from this a little and find through my own analysis and a hefty slice of luck I do better without them. Frankie I have joined a few myself but not in recent years. I did belong to one excellent service ( which it should have been at £1000 + per year! ) but having made a decent profit in spite of the fee and more importantly learnt a lot- I had free access to the guy who ran it and was able to visit a few stables- I now go it alone though as I said the wretched tipsters won't leave me alone ! That service was the one which owned a few horses and laid them out to win and took me over to the dark side;) So for 2 or 3 runs anyone in the syndicate knew the horses were not going to win and be ridden with kid gloves. So that was a real eye opener but also very profitable. I never felt sorry for anyone backing the horses before they were "ready" to win since aside from the generally big prices there was no reason to back them based on form etc; so be it selfish or not it was their decision to back them. Hopefully they learnt as I had to ! Cheers, Chris
frankie Posted 20 June, 2010 Share Posted 20 June, 2010 Had a couple of winners on the Brazil game tonight including Fabiano to score at any time and to be man of the match, so will go with my other couple of fancies at Wolverhampton. 5.00 Orangeleg was unlucky last time out when his jockey dropped the whip, the williams stable doesnt seem to be firing on all cylinders but the horse should take this with Woolston Ferry coming back to form to take second :-) 4.00 Durham Express has already impressed in a short career, he is open to more improvement and with the impressive Makin on board he can take this tricky little race. With tipsters charging £1000 a year maybe we should start our own service Chris :-) Frankie

What I knew but the bookies didn't until too late was that one team were virtually having to play a reserve team so it was almost a sure thing and I duly won with plenty to spare. I do actually post free tips on the Tip Exchange but what the stats on there don't show is my analysis which is broadly the same as I post on here, I get mentioned in the daily best tipsters once in a while and I certainly did when Crazy Chris obliged !! We could set up a service, say a free trial for x number of days, you provide the tips and I do my excellent analysis Anyway my bed awaits, I did read and reply to your reply to my PM. Enjoy the read !! Chris
chrisobee Posted 21 June, 2010 Share Posted 21 June, 2010 2 early tips for this evening: Lingfield 5.45- Dovedon Angel; @ 6/1 : No doubt Relative Strength has a good chance running off a career low mark but I'm going to oppose Frankie's selection with Dovedon Angel. Gay Kelleway’s runner is upgraded into this Class 5 following frame finishes in 5 of his last six appearances but there is a good chance he’s more than capable of rising to the occasion. The Kelleway yard is in cracking form and I'm sure Dovedon Angel will be winning soon enough, hopefully today ! Chepstow 7.50 - Bombadero@ 5/4 NAP : Not a great price but the selection has been runner up on last 2 starts, most recently to Caucus who ran well at Royal Ascot. That was over the same course and distance, Bombadero has reportedly been working well at home. Emerging Artist may pose the main threat on only his 2nd start. Good luck, Chris

frankie Posted 21 June, 2010 Share Posted 21 June, 2010 They rarely come in but Kieran Fallon seems to have a good book of rides at Chepstow tonight so have stuck them all in a 20p win lucky 63.....on to my singles. Chepstow 7.20 a race full of trailblazers and this might help my tip My Name is Frank, he likes to come off a strong pace and if not run off his feet he may be able to peg back the leaders and get his head in front on the line, Liel looks an intersting contender. 7.50 John Dunlops horses seem a bit in and out at the moment so I am going to oppose his favourite in this with Emerging Artist, he was staying on nicely at this trip on his debut and should come on for that run, an interesting outsider is Mhilu, he has been in good form over the jumps and could surprise. 9.20 Omaruru didn't seem to stay 1 mile 2 last time out so this 1 mile trip should be much more to his liking, Mark Johnston has bought his horses some distance for this meeting so they must be feared tonight. Windsor 6.40 a wide open little race with Hannons Pastello a tempting horse and big odds, but I am going to side with Dolcetto, he won easily on his debut for the A King yard, and he does well with his smattering of flat runners, the horse won over 1 mile 4 last time so this trip holds no fears unlike some of his opponents. 8.10 and 7.40 I feel Gene autry 7.40 and Dance East 8.10 have by far the best form of their opponents but are prohibitive odds, so will be chucking them in to a double. 8.40 I will have a few quid on Bernies Moon...go on Bernie Good luck all Frankie
