Hugh Taylor is due one and this is it, one way or another as a saver. 2.55 Nottingham - Colonel Mak 3.30 Nottingham - Prescription. I will do two trixies with these horses. chrisobee Posted 8 May, 2010 Share Posted 8 May, 2010 (edited) Plenty I like today though as per usual Saturday is not the day to lump on. May play around with doubles and trebles but hope to find a few winners from these. Haydock 2.30 Going to follow Frankie and have a wager on Athoug though it looks a tricky contest. LOST but ran well, close 2nd. 3.00 Wychwood's Legend e/w @ 12/1 Mous of Men win bet @ 10/1 : Wychwood's Legend has been in decent form over hurdles and though this looks a tough contest back on the flat could spring a surprise in this wide open race. Mous of Men has been well backed this morning and must enter calculations at 10/1. USELESS ! 3.35 Conquisto e/w @ 10/1 (General) Looks a hurdler with abundant potential, hacking up for second start running in Market Rasen novice last month. Handicapper may have taken a big chance with him and he must be considered. LOST Hexham 2.45 Dunaskin @ 5/2 Better than ever late last summer, won twice over 2¾m, and also in good form on AW this year. Seemed unsuited by fixed-brush hurdles when flopping last time and one for shortlist here. WON @ 3/1. Came from nowhere after I had abandoned hope ! Nottingham 1.55 Sands Crooner @ 6/1 : Should relish the conditions today and was good enough to win from a higher mark than today's 11 months ago. He has run well on both his last two starts and should not be far away. LOST 3.30 Serious Attitude NAP @ 2/1/ Prescription ew at 11/1 This is generally a good contest but Serious Attitude looks to have every chance ahead of Golden Destiny, Prescription and Swiss Diva. The selection is best off at the weights here courtesy of her official mark of 109, which has resulted from four wins out of her six career starts. A Cheveley Park winner at two, she did not quite live up to expectations in last year's 1,000 Guineas, but then came back to win a Group 3 at York. Trip and ground are ideal for her here, while she also has a favourable draw, and she will take plenty of beating. Small ew saver on Prescription, been well backed. Serious Attitude another 2nd, good winner though in Prescription, well done guys. Should have done the forecast ! Ascot 2.50 Rafiqa e/w. @ 14/1 (General) Twice successful as a juvenile and further progress at 3 yrs, despite not managing to get head back in front. Takes little getting ready and no forlorn hope on return with yard going well. LOST 3.25 Mabait ew @ 5/1/Onewayoranother e/w @ 20/1 I think Mabait could well be a group horse running in handicap company and I really fancy his chances. Very progressive winning 4 times up to 1m last term and again in some style at Sandown on his reappearance. Raised 10 lb for that and drops a furlong in trip, but clearly thriving. The only concern is the large field, for that reason only I'm going ew, if he gets a clear run I think he's definitely the one to beat. I also think Onewayoranother is worth a small ew saver, won 4 times in Australia in 2008 and shown useful form in Britain, notably when unlucky third at Doncaster in March, cruising through but hampered before finishing well. Only 2 lb higher here Mabait 2nd @4/1, Onewayoranother nowhere. Nice winner for Frankie with Dandy Man. Should have done the forecast here too ! 5.10 Get Carter @ 4/1/ New Leyf e/w saver @ 12/1 (General) Get Carter Improved in second half of last season and carried on progression when scoring over this trip at Windsor recently. Has an 8 lb penalty but likely to be more to come with Richard Hughes on board. New Leyf has progressed into useful performer on AW this year, winning twice over 6f at Kempton and good second over 7f there last time. Up another 5 lb but cant rule out if as effective on turf so a small ew saver at 12's for me. Very poor ! Warwick 6.20 Lovat Lane @ 3/1 Lovat Lane shaped well when runner-up on her debut and this looks a good opportunity for her to go one better. Ascot fourth Reposer has to be of interest, while the booking of Paul Hanagan suggests Laylas Princess is expected to go well on her debut. DIRE ! 8.20 Kajma @ 5/2 Ran well enough last time out when winning 8.5f handicap at Epsom Draw not ideal but 5 lb rise doesnt look excessive and should go well, with drop back to 7f unlikely to inconvenience. WON @ 15/8 Thirsk 6.35 Mr Wolf @ 6/1 Front runner who has shown he still has plenty of ability with 2 good runs ( runner-up both times) this term. 4 lb rise is a slight concern but could take some pegging back if in a similar mood and 6/1 looks a decent price. LOST Good luck all and hoping Saints end the season in style, 6-1 my prediction there Close !! Chris A real tough day with several very tight finishes but a good day overall for the "team !" Not easy trying to guess the draw bias but I will and say I think for the most part high numbered draws are likely to be favoured but then again they might decide to water that side with many gallons leaving the near side the most favourable side ! After watching Music Show, for me definitely the best horse, only finish 6th recently entirely due to the draw it makes life ever harder Good luck with your placepot, looks nigh on impossible but you never know. frankie Posted 8 May, 2010 Share Posted 8 May, 2010 Guys I have heard some massive reports on a horse tomorrow Haydock 2.30 Ahtoug I'm sure that you are aware but the trainer is part of Godolphins outfit and apparently this horse is tearing up the gallops, nothing can live with it...now if it can transfer that to the racecourse it should win easily.. chrisobee Posted 9 May, 2010 Share Posted 9 May, 2010 Unlikely to be getting involved much today though two I do like a lot : Utt 1.30 : Identity Parade- Weak race but Identity Parade ran a decent race to finish 2nd at Southwell a few weeks back over 2 miles 4f and the step up to 3 miles should see more improvement. The McCain/Maguire partnership always merits respect. Only prices so far are on BF but looks likely to be around the 2/1 mark. Plumpton 5.10 Putney Bridge NAP - Another weak race but Putney Bridge has been running well of late and in a field of very average horses stands out for me as easily the most progressive. Likely to be around 2/1-5/2. Also having a win double the two. Good luck but take it easy today ! Chris
frankie Posted 9 May, 2010 Share Posted 9 May, 2010 Again apologies for that tip....really pleased with a nice 16/1 winner of the big race though, and well done guys for prescription, I looked at that and avoided it as Prescott has had hardly any runners so far this year, he's a trainer I normally follow too, he seems to have the knack of getting horses very well handicapped. chrisobee Posted 10 May, 2010 Share Posted 10 May, 2010 (edited) Monday arrives again and little to inspire from the day time cards, Windsor usually throws up a few good bets though. Brighton 4.40 Cheviot @3/1 ( Bet 365) : The Jarvis yard are in cracking form at present and though Cheviot is not absolutely sure to get the trip it seems likely that there is plenty more to come from this filly who is blinkered for the 1st time today. Ran very well last season and though disappointed on seasonal debut seems sure to come on for that run. Redcar 4.20 Vested Interest @around 9/2 ( BF) : Impressed on his last run at Yarmouth when a well backed favourite winning nicely. Still very unexposed, main concern is that he has not run since then, 312 days ago. However, 9/2 looks a fair price albeit I'll be playing to small stakes on this one. 5.20 Kanace NAP @ 7/2 ( Betfred) : Kanace failed to justify favouritism when well held in third at Bath last Tuesday but that effort gives him something to build on and trainer Ian Williams should be able to find races with him off his current mark. Revealed a good deal more of his ability following a 7-month absence (gelded) in the Bath race and the money he attracted that day suggests it was no surprise to some. He's taken to exploit a clearly attractive mark. NB Both Kanace and Vested Interest N/R's ! Edited 10 May, 2010 by chrisobee Update
chrisobee Posted 10 May, 2010 Share Posted 10 May, 2010 Windsor 6.40 Beacon Lodge @13/8: Looks to be between the 2 class horses in the field, Beacon Lodge and Ordnance Row. Beacon Lodge showed bags of promise last season, winning twice, including French Group 3. Should have come on for recent reappearance at Sandown and though Ordnance Row ( won this race last year) cannot be discounted and indeed only ran on Saturday ( 6th at Haydock) I'm going to side with Beacon Lodge. 7.40 Soviet Secret @13/8 : Again not a great price but Soviet Secret made a pleasing start to his career when chasing home Diescentric in the Wood Ditton at headquarters last month and a reproduction of that effort should see home. The Soviet Star colt is related to some useful performers and the booking of Ryan Moore is another positive. This doesn't look a particularly strong race, the Richard Hannon trained Valiant Knight looking the main danger. I know Stkip is keen on Brandy Snap in the 5.40, has a very good draw and likely to put in a bold bid. However, Good Morning Dubai could be an interesting one here with Fallon booked to take the ride and a few quid ew at 16/1 might be worth a shot. That said I'm not certain enough to pick any as the probable winner and for me I'm inclined to watch and note what should be an informative race. MC does run 2 in the race in Chilworth Lass and The Thrill is Gone but the only real clue I can see on these two is that Alan Munro has opted to ride the latter. IF my hand was forced I'd just go for Brandy Snap with Good Morning Dubai chasing him home.
saintkiptanui Posted 10 May, 2010 Share Posted 10 May, 2010 A massive gamble in 7.30 at towcester - Jeu de rosseau. Been backed from 25/1 into 2/1. frankie Posted 10 May, 2010 Share Posted 10 May, 2010 Like you Chris Kanace interested me, but as has happened before he was withdrawn, thats 4 times he's been declared now and he has run once, the connections you would feel will want to get some of that money back at a later date. A few fancies tonight, can't believe the price of Blackstone Vegas that just won, seems the Curley horse was a very false price. Windsor 6.10 Banks and Braes, back in trip and back on grass is my selection, he has yet to win a race but hopefully he will get off the mark here. 6.40 again I am going for Richard Hannons second string with Vitznau, he looked useful when winning his first start this year, and I feel he could burn these off, having won at further...Beacon Lodge is the obvious danger 7.10 A wide open race with practically anything in with a chance, but I will have a little each way on Charltons' Fochabers at a big price, he showed some ability on his second start as a two year old and he may improve for this longer trip. 8.10 Boragh Jamal is an interesting runner, he was in Ireland last year and showed some promise, especially on his second start, this is a longer trip as he has been tried over 6 and 5 furlongs, and may bring about improvement...trainer is in good form. At Towcester I will have a few quid on 6.00 Eros Moon and Dancing Legend. 6.30 Knar Mardy 8.00 Celestial Dragon 8.30 Bee Cee Pee M Good luck Guys Frankie

chrisobee Posted 11 May, 2010 Share Posted 11 May, 2010 A few more : 2.50 - Yarmouth: Kingswinford - @ 6/1 (Betfred) Cativo Cavallino e/w @ 20/1 (Sportingbet) Although the booking of Ryan Moore for Kingswinford takes the eye, he hasn't won in eight previous attempts for this yard in recent seasons. However his mount comes into this race on the back of good efforts in three of his last four outings and the only concern is whether he will find the ground faster than ideal. Most of his form has been on good ground or softer but he has run well on fast ground in the past. He is normally seen in slightly better company than this and he is weighted to win on a mark of 74 having posted his last two victories from marks of 73 and 75. Cativo Cavallino is ten pound lower than when going close here over six furlongs a few seasons back. After his seasonal reappearance he didn't run a bad race in nine outings last season, winning once. Five of his six victories have come on the polytrack but his form on turf is largely comparable. Despite looking in need of his reappearance over six furlongs at Lingfield last month he stayed on well after being hampered to get within three lengths of the winner. He is just as effective over seven furlongs and gets on well with today's partner. 3.00 - Beverley: King Of Swords -@ 9/2 (General) Lucky Dan - e/w@ 14/1 (General) After the last meeting it's difficult to predict just how the draw will pan out today but, with all sixteen standing their ground, it may still pay to side with those drawn higher. The race in which Lucky Dan finished third and King Of Swords fifth at Thirsk ten days ago may hold the key to the outcome of this. King Of Swords was noted travelling well throughout the race but he never got the gaps when he needed them. He finished well when racing room was granted but it was too late for his chances of winning. He looks to be peaking and the return to a stiff track from a good draw is in his favour. He has won from today's mark in the past and all three victories last season came under today's jockey. Lucky Dan doesn't win very often, and ideally needs a sixth furlong, but this stiffer track could bring his stamina into play if they go hard enough and he can keep tabs on the trailblazers. He is not ideally drawn but he seems to get on particularly well with today's jockey. 4.00 - Beverley - Deadly Secret e/w@ 14/1 (General) Probably a bit speculative on the balance of his form but this represents an easier task for Deadly Secret. His fitness has to be taken on trust but the yard have been in very good early season form and he may be straight enough to do himself justice. He often ruins his chance by being too keen but there looks the likelihood of a generous gallop and that could help him relax. He is three pounds lower than when running by far his best race at Doncaster last June. The rest of his performances since his Juvenile campaign have not been very encouraging but the inherent ability is there, and it would be surprising if his handler didn't find the key to him at some point. 5.40 - Warwick - Iceman George e/w. @ 16/1 (William Hill) City Stable caught the eye on his reappearance and he is chucked in here on his old form. However backing unlucky losers at relatively short prices next time out is not often profitable. At a much bigger price, Iceman George is preferred on this occasion. He returned to the flat on the A/W at Kempton last month and ran well, making up late ground over 12 furlongs to finish 4/13, beaten just under five lengths. Most of his form last season came over today's trip and he returns to the turf five pound lower than his last winning mark. With doubts surrounding plenty of the opposition, and fitness assured, the selection looks capable of making the frame at least.

frankie Posted 11 May, 2010 Share Posted 11 May, 2010 Right back to going with my instincts etc. and not with the money.. Wednesday looks a decent days racing to be fair, especially at York. 1.40 Forte De Marmi looked extremely impressive when winning last time out, and I struggle to find anything to go against it, Stoutes horse Imposing may be useful, but his often need the run, and Saga De Tercey interests me, but his best runs have been over further. 2.10 Rainfall was extremely impressive on his debut, and although the form doesnt amount to much, he could only beat what was there, if he has improved again, which he is likely too he could be very useful, I rate Jarvis' business as Usual as the danger 3.10 A cracking race with many in with chances, but I will be keeping my eye on O'Briens Starspangledbanner, he makes his debut for both trainer and on British soil after showing top, top form in Australia, who can produce some very useful horses, if the 5ib penalty and the ground doesnt inconvenience him he should run well. 3.45 John Dunlop has not had too many runners so far this term, but when he does run something it is worth keeping an eye on, his Itlaaq looks to have good claims here if fit and ready, he is still lightly raced and could well be open to more improvement, he has run well at this trip previously and will hopefully see off Veloso in a tight finish. 4.55 Boss's Destination has been running over 7 furlongs in maidens but is bred to go much further, this trip should be much more to his liking and I expect him to run a decent race. Just a couple of selections over the jumps. Exeter 3.20 Bernard Fontwell 3.00 Kapelhoff...old timer loves it round Fonty. 4.10 Zero Good luck all Frankie
