frankie Posted 6 April, 2010 Share Posted 6 April, 2010 Loads of racing today, but just a few fancies for me...posting early as of to the game in a minute.. Redcar 5.30-Sir Louis...makes his handicap debut and with Fahey in great form could be a good bet in a weak looking race. Huntingdon 3.20-Southampton...After finishing down the field in Ireland he then followed up with a superb run (finished second and had him at 125/1 on betfair), he then picked up an injury when 7th and fancied, if he has got over that injury he could run well. Fakenham 2.40-I love these hunter chases, often give a good price for decent animals...i'm going for Lisadell king in this who was an unlucky beaten fav last time out and has a decent jockey for this type of race.. Dandino in the 4.20 at Redcar was one I had in my notebook after finishing second in its last race and given a quiet ride...but its not much of a price... Irish National looks hard but i'm having a few quid on Hangover, he beat alot of these previously in a valuable race and was staying on over 3miles Good luck all, come on you Saints Frankie Not bad tipping here guys...3 winners...Sir Louis 3/1...Lisadell King 15/8....Dandino2/1 Not gonna make you rich but not bad Frankie

frankie Posted 6 April, 2010 Share Posted 6 April, 2010 Very difficult racing today with nothing much standing out...although I do think that Mark Johnston could have a good day at both Ffos Las and Southwell. If I had to choose one of his for a bit of value I would go with Staff Sergeant in the 2.40 Southwell, beaten favourite last time and hasnt run for 139 days, so possibly something was amiss that day, if ok i'm sure he will run very well. The only other one that interests me is at Wetherby 3.55 Agglestone Rock - He has been in great form this season and recently ran well on the flat, he has a decent jockey and in a tricky little race should be there or thereabouts.. Good luck Frankie

chrisobee Posted 6 April, 2010 Share Posted 6 April, 2010 3.20 - Wetherby - Young Buddy 3.55 - Wetherby Akilak - Owned by Alan Shearer, never know what he'll produce but a few quid at 11/1 with VC will scupper any hope. Cast Iron Casey would be next best for me so let's scupper than one too ! 5.20 - Southwell - Granakey - ( sorry cato !) Grand National Just noticed Cerium @ 66/1. Too big surely for a horse that finished 5th last year with a fractured skull !?

I'm off to Barbados if any of those 4 win. Cerium is better in the weights this year compared to last. Trainer also has Mr Pointment who has similar profile to Cerium from last year... i.e. bought out of the Nicholls yard, allowed to drop about a stone - difference with Mr P is that he has won over the national fences previously. If you can allow yourself to forget the recent form and take him on his form of 2 years ago he has big place claims. frankie Posted 7 April, 2010 Share Posted 7 April, 2010 Loads of racing today..not sure if i'll be able to keep my good running going but i'll give it a good go... Kempton 8.00 - I love Franco is my name, who has trotted up a good sequence of wins..Rowan Tiger is also going well, but I really fancy KINGS SONG. Michael Stoute is a super trainer and this horse looked like it would be very useful this year, my only concern is that Stoutes can often need the run, if thats the case then the fitness of Franco may count. 4.30 Lingfield - Parc Des Princes is trained by the under rated but also very in form trainer Andrew Balding, he has course and distance form and despite not running for 259 days you can be sure he will be fit to do himself justice. 3.50 Nottingham - Opinion Poll, Dettori only has three rides at Nottingham this afternoon before going to Kempton for the evening meeting, this looks by far his best chance of a winner, Opinion Poll won on good to soft ground on its last start and as long as the ground isnt too heavy ground shouldnt be a problem, he was running on well on his last start over 1mile 4, so 1 mile 6 today could prove to be his best trip. I also fancy Horsley Warrior, Billie Jean, Island Chief, Ella, Caol Ila, Ginger Grey, Red Amy and New World Order but there are question marks against each of these so will be keeping to very small stakes.. Good luck today Frankie

chrisobee Posted 7 April, 2010 Share Posted 7 April, 2010 (edited) Even worse news I'm on one of them ! Ling 2.00 Illustrious Prince : Showed promise on debut, racing slow side in straight. Duly stepped up on that when finishing 2nd at Newmarket. Yard has 3/7 with 3 year olds here and looks well suited by step back to 7f, nicely drawn. Nottingham 2.50 Quest For Success: Progressive type, shown consistent improvement since 3. Career best when last seen, dropped to 5f on gd/soft taking over smoothly and winning with something in hand. No surprise to see turned out for early season campaign in ideal assignment. Soft going no problem ( has won on heavy) and yard in excellent form. Nottingham 3.50 Opinion Poll: Progressive type who signed off in good style at Ascot under an intelligent ride by Dettori who is on board today. Strong traveller who goes well on testing ground and looks a horse firmly on the upswing. Widely taken to improve into a Group performer this term and yard in excellent form. Lingfield 4.00 Honest Broker : Has benefitted by dropping to 7f and looked a better horse without blinkers when winning over C&D last time out. Given time to come out of that and a 3lb rise in the weights may prove lenient.Yard in excellent form and 34% success rate with 3 year olds at Lingfield this term. Nottingham 5.20 Ermine Grey : Hard to win with but altogether better on turf and and potentially well ahead of mark now returned to suitable trip. 1 mile on testing ground should not be a problem ( won at Haydock on heavy) and booking of Jamie Spencer may be significant. Others to mention : Nottingham 2.20 Style and Panache : Jamie Spencer is again the eyecatching booking on this David Evans trained two year old fily. She was second on debut and is getting weight from her main rival today. Looks short enough though at around 6/5. Catterick 4.40 Fasliyanne : Trained by Kevin Ryan and ridden by Andrew Mullen this four year old fily won over course and distance in April 2009 and is now down to the same mark and can go close at decent odds of around 10/1. Nottingham 4.50 Ruba Dai: First foal out of useful middle distance winner, won on fibresand on debut and showed good attitude. Plenty of scope for improvement and should appreciate step up in trip. By Hernando, always likely to be a better 3yo and should find soft ground no problem. Kempton 5.30 Plymouth Rock: Trained by Jeremy Noseda and ridden by Ryan Moore this four year old colt was second last time out at Goodwood and may go one better this evening. Kempton 6.30 Better Be Blue: Quietly held back and raced by trainer A Carroll. Well thought of in yard as a horse who will win a race before long. Competitive race but well drawn, any market support near the off is worth noting. Kempton 7.00 Gracious Melange : By Medicean and another progressive looking type. Won over C&D in December. Likely to be well ahead of initial mark and fillies event ideal. The form looks good and yard in very good form. I also cannot make Kempton AW pay so dropped that 2 months ago. That said, Lingfield is a very competitive card today and I like the look of a few: Ling 300 Waterloo Dock Ling 330 Sir Edwin Landseer Ling 400 Honest Broker Ling 430 Mr Plod Ling 500 Royal Acclamation

Trouble is that stewards do tend to favour the first past the post and I suspect in their eyes at least half a length was a big enough winning margin to "justify" allowing the result to stand. frankie Posted 9 April, 2010 Share Posted 9 April, 2010 Poor results yesterday guys, sorry...Concentrating mainly on Aintree today, but away from Aintree I have picked out. Muss-4.00-So Bazaar-Interesting to see if there's money for this one, looks like a Swinbank type to improve. Muss-4.35-Ansell's Pride-Beaten favourite last time out and now a pound out of the handicap, he has course and distance form..Internationaldebut looks the one to beat 5.40-Laureldeans Best-Often avoid these apprentice handicaps but expected this to be a fav and its not so value, trainer in great form and a reliable jock. Kempton-4.10-Benartic-Good little race and this lightly raced runner is not without a chance, the 7pound claim of his jockey will do no harm. Keep an eye on bottom weight Ede's who may run well at a big price back over hurdles Kempton-4.45-Ibberton-Had this as one to follow, in a pretty poor race he should run well and has won at this distance. Good luck all....be a pain in the arse when I have to go back to work in a couple of weeks, been enjoying it on here Frankie

chrisobee Posted 9 April, 2010 Share Posted 9 April, 2010 A few non Aintree fancies: Muss 2.50 Intersky Charm- a small speculative ew bet at 22/1 (VC) Looks well in at the weights. Kemp 3.00 Shoegazer- ran well enough last time out to suggest a race of this type is within his grasp, we'll see! Current best price 9/4 ( Totesport) Kemp 4.10 Preuty Boy - Stripe Me Blue been well backed so another to keep an eye on ! Wolverhampton 6.45 Five Star Junior at 8/1 ( bet 365 and VC) Wolverhampton 8.15 Buona Sarah- Tight little race but Buona Star finished strongly lto and may be the answer to the puzzle. Not overly mad about the price TBH, 7/4 best available.
