A few of interest to me, all will hopefully be 5/1+

7.35 Emperor Court

8.05 Anjomarba

8.40 Kuanyao

9.10 Dancing Storm

Ah well, both Emperor Court ( which drifted like a barge out to 12/1) and Dancing Storm gave punters a good run for their money and Kuanyao won comfortably at 6/1. Typically by far the worst run was by Anjomarba which actually went off as favourite but was never in the race.

Sandown 2.40 Crackdown

Sandown 3.45 Say No Now

Sea The Stars is clearly the one to beat in the Corals Eclipse but at 8/13 is not a betting proposition for me. Twice Over might provide some value especially at 22/1 currently available on Betfair.

I forgot to take the tips. I did get lucky and had a 16-1 though St Columbis or something like that. Just pure luck a did a cou-ple of favourites but Larking came in second. Anyway £2 bets get you nowhere whatever.A good bit of fun and ended up only costing me a twenty for the 2 of us.

You asked me how I got the 16-1 are you ready.

My wife and me went to the enclosure to watch the horses being paraded. Standing by the ring we were watching when a man was sitting and chatting to somebody and we could hear him speak. All he was watching was the horses feet, he was chatting away and was obviously it seemed knowledgeable. Anyway one all of a sudde ncaught his fancy and said that's it n03. We of course had liked the nicest looking and 1 with the best braided tail. So we went down to the course and bet on 9 and then i looked and noticed that n03 was 16-1 and so bet £2. No sooner had I done that it went to 14-1 but soon went back out to 25-1 (I was going to put another £2 on when it did so but..) anyway it stormed in. We then went to try and find the man andget another tip but couldnt until 3 races later and there he was again sitting looking at the horses legs feet. When he wasnt concentrating i said to him'sorry that i had been listening but thanks for his words, and i had never been to a horse before' he laughed and said nor had he! He was a rider but knew some stable people and they told him to look at their feet and if the back foot overstepped the front when being paraded it meant that there was plenty of power.Of course you would know that but he said his freind had a computer programme and they were challenging each other who would get the best results he was 2-0 up with 1 race to go. the other funny thing is he didnt put money on the 16-1 horse he went for a beer.Lol

Well I know a very successful horse racing "gambler" ( not really the right word as he was so good at assessing horses he made £50k+ a year). One of his key strategies was looking at horses in the parade ring though I don't think looking at their feet was high on his list of priorities! Anyway he used to give me decent priced tips, once had a run of 7 wins up to 12/1. So he was very good unlike me, sadly he no longer needs to earn a living from horse racing betting as he has written lots of books etc; He really was the best professional bettor I have ever come across.

Nothing is exact sciendce with these things as the jockey has a bearing as well of course. It was a good way of looking at itr and makes sense.Power at the rear of the horse means speed I assume. It also helps if you have an eye and experience of noting good horses.

Indeed, the hind legs do generate the speed and power so there is a logic behind that but of course you need to know what you are looking for. I would not have a clue, the only factor which I know to look for is if a horse is sweating badly and/or acting up. I have of course seen horses sweating profusely even on a coolish day and still win but generally it's a negative. To be honest most of my bets are either very small which is why I look for decent prices or free bets ! Anyone who has few or no online accounts with bookies can easily make a few hundred pound if they know how to utilise the free bets properly.

I always recommend these guys even though the person who runs the site is a Reading fan !

7:40 southwell... swiss art (win)

Well I certainly would not back it ew at around 11/8 !! However, based on the fact that he is much better off than the last time he ran against 2nd favourite Iron Out and won that day this looks a very solid bet. Nothing stands out as a decent alternative though bizarelly Silent Treatment is as short as 7/2 on Betfair and 4/1 on WBX yet 7/1 with Bet365 and 6/1 readily available. So might be worth keeping an eye on the market as I can't recall seeing a horse at half the odds on Betfair as is available with at least one bookie !

Edit: Well Silent Treatment is now 6/1 on BF and 5/1 on WBX so not sure what the hell was going on there!

I couldn't figure out why Dickie Le Davoir would win, despite the fact 3 'experts' had it has their 'nap'.

Guess they were right!

Of course I can say what I like now but I was attracted by the name and nearly threw it into the mix! At least Red Cape ran a good race.
