trousers Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 What's the situation re: spectators? I'd pay a few quid to come and watch as I'm sure many others would.
Baj Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 What's the situation re: spectators? I'd pay a few quid to come and watch as I'm sure many others would. Issue is addressed in this threads first post.
trousers Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 Issue is addressed in this threads first post. Ah, yep..see it now....apologies/cheers (note to self: beware pitfalls of skim reading) Do you need to know spectator numbers in advance or is it just on a turn up basis? In other words, will there be a limit on the number of spectators the club can handle without having to think about getting extra staff in?
forever a red and white Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 desperate to play in this, even paid my fiver for SWF :-)
trousers Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 To answer a previous question, there is no age restriction. Just to clarify the age one....is there seriously no restriction? i.e. would one's 9 year old son be eligible? Just thinking out loud here as it's close to his birthday and this would make a 'triffic present if it was open to kids too....

Just thinking out loud here as it's close to his birthday and this would make a 'triffic present if it was open to kids too.... I reckon you wouldn't want him to play unless you bring along your lawyer and an agent. If he's 9 years old that makes him a prime candidate for the first team next season

scott_saints Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 I don't want to sound harsh- but I don't think people will want to be playing against a 9 year old. Might just be me.....
trousers Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 I don't want to sound harsh- but I don't think people will want to be playing against a 9 year old. Might just be me..... What if the first 22 entries are from 9 year olds? I actually agree with what you say, and I thought the same....hence asking if the "no age limit" bit really meant "no age limit" because I suspect there ought to be for clarity

Just thinking out loud here as it's close to his birthday and this would make a 'triffic present if it was open to kids too.... Said 9 year old would also have to be a paid up member of SWF and I am guessing the Admins know the average age of its members is not that low so might not have considered it?
Give it to Ron Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 I don't want to sound harsh- but I don't think people will want to be playing against a 9 year old. Might just be me..... Frightened you might get shown up eh ! ;-)
channonwindmill Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 What music will the teams come out to? Will the players be available for autographs afterwards?

He could become a paid up member this evening, in theory.... One doesn't have to enter one's DoB when registering so not sure how one can deduce the average age (or otherwise) of members on here. Unless there's a minimum age in the 'terms and conditions'? Apologies to the organisers here....am not trying to point score or anything....would genuinely just like to know what the minimum age is. Thanks.
Baj Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 I've not discussed it with Steve, but I can guarantee that 9 is too young, will come back to you later with a confirmed min age and update the main post.

Nexstar Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 I doubt anyone under the age of 16ish is actually A) a fully paid member or B) actually has £115-£230 kicking around.

MINIBARCELONASAINT Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 i wish i could do this so much, i would be well up for it
Neilza Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 Just to clear something up quickly. If you put your first choice position and put you want to play 90 minutes but don't get it, can you put your second choice position and say you only want to play 45 minutes?
eelpie Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 Does training include the pre-match nightclub binge?
Saint_Jonny Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 Ah man Im desperate to play in this! Having heart surgery about then so I cant commit to it Will come and watch tho!
Baj Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 Ah man Im desperate to play in this! Having heart surgery about then so I cant commit to it Will come and watch tho! Gaffer?
Baj Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 Just to clear something up quickly. If you put your first choice position and put you want to play 90 minutes but don't get it, can you put your second choice position and say you only want to play 45 minutes? No, you give 3 preferred positions. Then, completely seperatley, you indicate if you would like to play 45 or 90 minutes. Of course, should on the day someone agree to swap positions with you for 45 mins if you're both doing 90, then thats up to you.
hamster Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 Same mate, but it was one of the shortcuts to a) speed this up and b) keep the cost down. As the club pointed out to us, even the ressies are all made to wear XL, irrelevant of actual size. Please do not do that Baj, posting threads like that without a warning. I just spat my coffee over ther cscreen. BTW, my money was on Connor for fans fan this season, but you boys have taken now that mantle. A very well done from me. I have questions to ask, but will keep them for later as I am off to make bread.
Griffo Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 I doubt anyone under the age of 16ish is actually A) a fully paid member or B) actually has £115-£230 kicking around. Will have been 16 for two months by the time the game comes about. Having most of it paid as a birthday present, but I'm paying 100 odd towards it myself for the 90 minutes.

It'll be a couple of weeks from my 17th, so i almost got it as a birthdya present but am gonna pay for just 45mins and get driving lessons instead i feel.
Big John Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 I am keen to play, is there a minimum level of fitness required please?

Kin'ell I hope you 2 are the only 2 young ones playin and your both on the same team as me. I feel old and fat already so chasing kids shadows for 45 mins ill be ready for the itchen bridge lol
CylonKing Posted 19 March, 2009 Posted 19 March, 2009 Whilst I will not be taking part, I just wanted to say that I think this is a wonderful idea. It is every fans dream to play for their club, and as most of us will never do that, to play a competitive match in your clubs ground is probably the next best thing. Well done to everyone for organising this and well done to the club for allowing it to happen. I know they are getting money out of it, but they could've said no! I hope the rest of organising goes smoothly and everybody involved enjoys the day to the maximum.
MusicMan Posted 19 March, 2009 Posted 19 March, 2009 Warning. Not wishing to put anybody off. It’s not like playing on the local park. The pitch is very large and heavy on legs (especially unfit ones) and because it’s in a bowl there is little air movement and can be difficult to breathe at times. If you’re not sure I would suggest only 45 mins would be more enjoyable

WokingSaint Posted 19 March, 2009 Posted 19 March, 2009 I'm a Registered User but not a 'Paid Up' member - does that rule me out for being a coach/manager whatever? Have there been many applicants for these positions? Will go to support anyway.

I'm sure if those positions arent taken after a reasonable time we will open up those positions to registered members, but no promises.
Wiltshire Saint Posted 19 March, 2009 Posted 19 March, 2009 Will spectators be allowed in to watch? If so, how many and what will the cost be? Will there be food and drinks available at half time? Also, is there a minimum age for players and what kit would we have to wear?

Legod Third Coming Posted 19 March, 2009 Posted 19 March, 2009 I dispute that there is no enjoyment in a team winning 10-0. In fact, it's all I've dreamt about for thirty fecking years since we lashed Coventry 8-2...
Legod Third Coming Posted 19 March, 2009 Posted 19 March, 2009 And can all players please use their usernames on their backs? It would be precious little fun shouting abuse at a Philip/a Selby not knowing that he/she is Alpine, Stanley, Baj, etc, would it?

Yeah I was thinking about this aswell, seeing as on my other saints shirts I have my last name. However, seeing as the shirt will be XL the chances of me wearing it to a match are very slim. I think people should be encouraged to get their usernames.

Nexstar Posted 19 March, 2009 Posted 19 March, 2009 Pun intended? Lol, well me wearing an XL shirt will be quite a sight in itself!
Nexstar Posted 19 March, 2009 Posted 19 March, 2009 Also, any chance there could be a vote as to whether we get usernames or random?
Nexstar Posted 19 March, 2009 Posted 19 March, 2009 Well all have to wear XL kits? "We have struck a deal with the club to provide shirts for the game, with name and number printed on the back. Please note that this will include the SHIRT ONLY (last season's home shirt [without sponsor logo], this season's away shirt - all in size XL, the biggest still available)"

So we basically have to wear this XL shirt..?
