hamster Posted 16 March, 2009 Share Posted 16 March, 2009 Not sure that this is in the correct fiorum, apologies if there is a van hire forum somewhere. My Mum and Dad have just found out that they are moving THIS FRIDAY (20th). We need to hire a van from midday Friday until midday Sunday (2 days). I have got a good price from U-Drive, but wanted to ask if anyone knows of a better deal locally (Southampton or eastligh) please? We need a tail lift vehicle, and I will be booking the U-Drive if I can't find a bettter deal by midday. btw Udrive prices currently: Luton - £115.50 +VAT 7.5 ton - £171.50 +VAT Cheers in advance folki. StuRomseySaint Posted 16 March, 2009 Share Posted 16 March, 2009 Make sure U-drive are only charging you for 2 days. I have used a2b hire, they were about £45 for a Luton per day, up near Paultons Park
hamster Posted 16 March, 2009 Author Share Posted 16 March, 2009 (edited) http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&ei=sSu-SffRGNTIjAeTjY2TCA&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=1&ct=result&cd=1&q=van+hire+southampton&spell=1 Cheers S13. They were surprisingly almost as expensive as Hendy's, and that was if I use my own insurance. Nice chap on the phone though. Comparing the prices I have found, I am surprised that Hendy's ever get any custom, they're at least 50% more expensive than most of their competitors! Make sure U-drive are only charging you for 2 days. I have used a2b hire, they were about £45 for a Luton per day, up near Paultons Park They are the cheapest by far (more than £30) Stu, cheers. Only stumbling block is getting to them. I would be fine returning it on the Sunday, but it's a bugger to get to on my own on the Friday. I don't want to be without my car so it's a dilemma. I'm just gonna check the bus routes. Edited 16 March, 2009 by hamster

I just booked with a2b, cheers again stu. My Dad owes ou an alcopop. Re geting there, of anyone wants to use them ever, the X7 bus stops at The Vine which is just around the corner. Super dooper added bonus is that I can take Mum there for Mothers Day treat when we take the van back. Dad will have to drive, so I will have to drink. Brilliant All in all this has been a moneysaving Mothers Day treat solving morning. Well done this stev and baj and all the hangers on, I just saved enough to pay for 6 years subsriptions. Brilliant. Johnny Bognor Posted 16 March, 2009 Share Posted 16 March, 2009 This should be in the Motoring forum... I thought this thread was going to be about a new Dutch signing. Didn't Van Hire play in the same team as Van Rental?
