StuRomseySaint Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 ... what will you be doing instead of watching Saints? I am thinking about playing football on Sundays, and generally more D.I.Y and walking the dog on a Saturday. Next season promises to be the most interesting for quite a few years. So..... what other plans do people have next season instead of wasting money on Saints?
scott_saints Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I plan on wasting money on Saints. Yay for me.
70's Mike Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 undecided at moment depends on division we are in, weather, sons attitudes , money
Mole Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I plan to spend more time posting on TSW (probably with a new username).
70's Mike Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I plan to spend more time posting on TSW (probably with a new username). Sundance and Scooby are free user names
Master Bates Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I plan to spend more time in the pub before going to watch Saints, depends if Season Ticket prices do go up or not.
Draino76 Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 Well I'm looking forward to league 1, with Stockport (my home town), Brighton, Milwall, Southend 20 minutes away and stuff.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I plan to spend more time posting on TSW (probably with a new username). Sundance and Scooby are free user names So are: Hitler Stalin Griffin etc. etc.
Mole Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 So are: Hitler Stalin etc. etc. I would never choose stalin.
StuRomseySaint Posted 16 March, 2009 Author Posted 16 March, 2009 How many season tickets will we shift? I reckon 5k next season at the most... I know most of the people who sit around me in the Northam are not renewing... I am looking forward to a football free season, I will go to a few of the decent away games and maybe a couple of home, but that's about it.

Their decisions may not be just football related Maybe they'll change their minds now knowing you won't be sat there next season
StuRomseySaint Posted 16 March, 2009 Author Posted 16 March, 2009 Their decisions may not be just football related Maybe they'll change their minds now knowing you won't be sat there next season I read my post before I sent it and knew that some smart-arse would think up that comment.

My poor dog will probably be dead by then the amount of abuse its had to put up with from me every saturday after watching the crap we have this year.
Papa Shango Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I'll still be there. I fully understand peoples reasons for not going, but it's going to be really embarrassing seeing gates potentially as low as minus 10k.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I would never choose stalin. TBF he was just as bad as the others but from the opposite side of the political divide!
bjk Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I'll still go whatever league we're in as i know when saturday comes i just cant bring myself to stay at home as despite how appalling its been for a long time now i'd miss it if i didn't go anymore.
Pat from Poole Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I haven't been all season and haven't missed it at all. It's probably been less of a sacrifice given how poor the team are and the shambles of a board running the club being completely undeserving of any support. Depends on your circumstances, I guess, but being married with two kids, I've found plenty of other stuff to occupy my time. I still listen to most of the games on the radio (have to admit the coverage on Solent is superb) and retain a keen interest but doing this only takes up two hours on a Saturday, whereas the travelling from Poole, plus pre and post match beers meant that a home game used to take up pretty much all day for me. If I was single I'd probably still be going, to be honest.
Johnny Shearer Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I'm going to get myself a new season ticket. Gave it up this year but found that I miss it too much. Also I don't have a life on saturdays.
ooohTerryHurlock Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 Sundance and Scooby are free user names Where have they gone? I kinda miss them guys?
Wes Tender Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 It very much depends on whether Lowe and the Quisling still have anything to do with the club or not. If they are gone (fingers crossed), I will buy a ST and return to watching home games. If they are still here, I will probably go to some of the more local away games, Yeovil, Brighton, Swindon and maybe even Cheltenham and Bristol Rovers if they asre still in the third next season. If they are relegated, I can always catch them the following year when we are down in the fourth with them.
ghq Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I've just had a flashback to when Saints were relgated to the old div 3. Can't remember whether or not it was 3 south or not, but I seem to rmember the last away game of the year was at Notts Forest. We won 3-2 and the final game was against Blackburn Rovers and we won 5-1! I don't think I'm hallucinating, perhaps somebody will check. I also seem to remember that the average crowds in div 3 for Saints were around those we are getting this season. Which brings me to the thought that if we are relegated and draw crowds lower than those past days, it can only add to the further glory of the chosen one if he's still here. I hope if Lowe does go, that crowds will increase, but have a really bad feeling that we won't be rid of him for some time to come.
londonsaint1604 Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 What a strange question. I think I'll still enjoy going to the football as much as I do now, so I'll still be watching saints.
OldNick Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 still be going, it will be good to have the proper fans still there Lol.

Deppo Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I will hopefully be going to more matches than I have this season.
skintsaint Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 will still be sat up till 2am listening to us struggle as per usual.
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 Frottage Why, are you planning on joining the Board? Don't we have enough frottageurs already?
aintforever Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I wont be renewing if Lowe or Wilde are still running the club regardless of what league we are in. I'm not too bothered about watching crap football. I refuse to help finance any more of Lowe's experiments, I think those who renew will actually be helping the demise of the club. The only way forward for SFC is to force these idiots out, admin or not IMO.

But please don't come on here with this sacrificial bull**** propoganda.
View From The Top Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I'll not be bothering with home games but will still do Midland and Northern away games.
Iowsaintsfan Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I will still go to whatever games i can and afford!
ottery st mary Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 Watching Saints play Exeter and Plymouth in Div 1 and against Torquay the following season in Div 2. b

Mole Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 Unless pricing is silly will renew. What about if Lowe is no longer at the club?
NickG Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 that's the difference between us - I support the team not someone sat in directors box. Went before him, while he is here and will do when he is gone.
Mole Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 that's the difference between us - I support the team not someone sat in directors box. Went before him, while he is here and will do when he is gone. You also support him.
NickG Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 No, I support saints, who do you support? You are clearly more concerned about lowe than you are the club. I bought shares and went to meet Hoos to get rid of him last time. I am not sulking and still want the team to do well while he is here.
Deppo Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 The team is more important. How many fans actually like their team's board?
aintforever Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 that's the difference between us - I support the team not someone sat in directors box. Went before him, while he is here and will do when he is gone. I support the club and that includes everyone, not just the first team. By buying into Lowe's experiments you are actually being unsupportive to the team in the long term IMO.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I thought I was going to have to work Saturday, but in the end I didn't. It was too late to get tickets (not that I tried that hard) so decided to have a round of golf with a couple of mates. Had a throughly enjoyable day,*****il the football results came in), a few beers afterwards and it cost me less than a trip to SMS. The Mrs was happy as I was home earlier, and in a better state than normal, and my blood pressure was proberly a lot lower as well. Obviously the weather being nice made the round better( and I played ok) but started me thinking that there could be nicer things to do on a Saturday.
SimonRichards Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I will only attend away matches next season. Unless things change in the boardroom.
Griffo Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 Going to carry on doing pretty much every home and away game still.
Norm Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I will do something stupid, like watching Saints (IF the price is right!)
once_bitterne Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 ... what will you be doing instead of watching Saints? So..... what other plans do people have next season instead of wasting money on Saints? I can't think of anyone who Saints playing in L1 would affect less than you Stuey. Since when has quality of football got anything at all to do with how much enjoyment you get out of a Saturday afternoon. Your day is all about drinking at some god awful place like the Zeb bar before the match, arriving (late) at the match drunk. Leaving before the end of the first half to get a drink, getting back to your seat for the secnd half after the kick off and then leaving the match before it is over to get back to the pub. What goes on on the pitch is of far less interest to you than the excitement you gain from hearing that some of the yoof have been a bit 'nawty' as your role model Danny Dyer would say.... The rest of us will still be watching Saints play next season come what may. I'm sure you will only be missed in the Zeb bar.....
