AndyNorthernSaints Posted 13 March, 2009 Posted 13 March, 2009 Watching the history of Rough Trade Records on BBC4. Reminds me of many happy memories of going there to get records and going to gigs in London after.
Stanley Saint Posted 15 March, 2009 Posted 15 March, 2009 Enjoyed that greatly. Still can't decide if Geoff Travis was/is an amazing talent-spotter with a golden ear or a complete chancer who stitched up all his colleagues....Some fantastic footage though. I'd forgotten how jaw-droppingly good Robert Wyatt's 'Shipbuilding' performance was.
Deppo Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I would go out tonight, but I haven't got a stitch to wear...
jeff leopard Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 I bought Crooked Rain Crooked Rain by Pavement in the Rough Trade shop on the day of its release. Still a cherished memory and my fave album ever
alpine_saint Posted 19 March, 2009 Posted 19 March, 2009 Watching the history of Rough Trade Records on BBC4. Reminds me of many happy memories of going there to get records and going to gigs in London after. Was it just a Smiths w**k-fest, or did it cover the other bands ?
the stain Posted 19 March, 2009 Posted 19 March, 2009 Was it just a Smiths w**k-fest, or did it cover the other bands ? It covered the story of Rough Trade shop and record label.
