BJH (Barclay James Harvest) sufered at the pen of critics as a "poor mans moody blues", but were and still are imho a far superior band.

I take nothing away from Justin Hayward, but BJH hit the spot for me

Thoughts?

Both had their moments IMO. I have several of their albums, and sometimes they hit the spot magnificently. Rarely listen to either nowadays, but when I do it is almost always a pleasure.

BJH used to be about the biggest gig at Salisbury City hall in the mid 70's. saw them a good few time live. Happy memories of those gigs and seeing them at Malvern Winter Gardens on their Octoberon Tour probably autumn 76 or around then.

I must admit that although I had a soft spot for BJH, The Moody Blues were more "mainstream" and I used to see them more often. Mind you "Go Now" by the original MBs with Denny Laine is a classic song.

I saw BJH at the Gaumont in the early 80's twice. Turn of the Tide and Time Honoured Ghost tours I think.

Seems alon time ago now.

Personally prefer BJH, although think Days of Future Passed is a classic album.
