SimonRichards Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 The Multi multi millionaire Coldplay drummer, Will Champion on Saints relegation battle and avoiding the drop. http://www.coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=345 Finally, let's talk about your beloved Southampton FC. They're not doing very well, are they? Well you say that Mr Anchorman, but we won three in a row before we lost to Birmingham this weekend. So, from reading our last rites a few weeks ago, when I thought this was the season we'd finally go down again, we've had a mini-resurgence and it's all looking a bit brighter. I think Charlton are pretty much down. Then it's two from Norwich, Southampton, Barnsley, Blackpool and Forest. It could be interesting. Do you think they'll stay up? If you'd asked me two weeks ago, I'd have said definitely not. Now, I feel like there's a chance. For my entire life we've been the masters of avoiding relegation. So, fingers crossed, we can avoid it again. Get you hands in your pockets Mr Champion. Your club need you...Well, your money. lol
dubai_phil Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 Hmmm I wonder if he posts on here or logs in to the match fred when touring..... anyone been posting unusually from Australia the last couple of days? Trousers - get to work! Oh and just because he's made some money think he'd rather give it to Stanford or Madoff than Rupe's & co

trousers Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 what does he mean.."finally go down"? Perhaps he had a rush of blood to the head?
VectisSaint Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 what does he mean.."finally go down"? Perhaps he had a rush of blood to the head? He actually said "finally go down again", its the"again" part that is significant. I wonder if Will thinks we will get Parachutes payments in League One He really ought to tell the rest of the band that a free gig at SMS with all proceeds to SFC would be a good idea. If they insist on a return gig at Stamford Bridge that would be a small price to pay.
Rory Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 Knowing that the drummer from Coldplay cares about the club sure does make me feel bad about myself.
Ponty Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 Knowing that the drummer from Coldplay cares about the club sure does make me feel bad about myself. At least he has the decency to look vaguely embarrassed of Chris Martin in interviews.
St Landrew Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 Yes, the finally bit did grate somewhat with me too. There's been no finally in this division. We've only been here 5 mnutes, and already we're not quite good enough for it.

Unfortunately Will's money wouldn't make much of a dent in the debt but fair play to the fella. He clearly follows and is passionate about saints.

Blimey, if he invested £50 in Saints it would be £50 more than Lowe or Wilde.
Saint Bones Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 I think the finally comment was in refernce to the fact that we survived by the skin of our teeth last season. maybe ?? Oh - big cheers to all the boys in Coldplay for doign a free gig for the aid concerts for the recent bushfire tradgedy. (and all the other bands of course)
krissyboy31 Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 BBC Just had an interview with Jonathan Wilkes and talked about Port Vale's financial struggle to stay afloat. Asked why his buddy Robbie Williams doesn't help out as "he's got a few bob". Wilkes said that he has and he does what he can but when the choice is a new LB or saving a childs life, there's only one choice. (New LB at Port Vale, coming soon then! ).

Wilkes said that he has and he does what he can but when the choice is a new LB or saving a childs life, there's only one choice. (New LB at Port Vale, coming soon then! ). Well then, simple.... Michael Jackson is making a sell-out comeback - so that's the welfare of the kids taken care of. Gary Barlow hired a private jet to save the rest of the planet and climb a mountain. Ergo, Will can use his spare dosh on us and he won't have a to worry about his conscience. See easy wasn't it
Trumush Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 No real surprise that he still cares after all he is a fan like you and I (albeit considerably richer). He and his Dad sit in the Kingsland.
Hatch Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 I thought it said Wii Champion and there was going to be some sort of competition.
VectisSaint Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 Has Robbie Williams spent all his money on becoming a paedeotrician then? No, he spent it all on a new mansion in Compton Bassett here in sunny Wiltshire.
Block 5 Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 No, he spent it all on a new mansion in Compton Bassett here in sunny Wiltshire. So he can be within walking distance of Clouds house.....
Scudamore Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 Knowing that the drummer from Coldplay cares about the club sure does make me feel bad about myself. I hate music that other people have heard of...
bridge too far Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 Look closer....spooky eh? AALLULLEPI
JohnnyFartPants Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 I hate music that other people have heard of... Who was that person on Saints Forever that was a bit like that? Was it Rory?
trousers Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 AALLULLEPI  Sssshhh....Aallullepi is an Italian multi-billionaire but with Mafia connections....he's not going to be happy that you've revealed his identity on here
Scudamore Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 Who was that person on Saints Forever that was a bit like that? Was it Rory? I refer you to this thread...which should be be renamed "I listen to more eclectic and obscure music than you" Truth be told i like all kinds of music that i'm sure few on here have heard of...but talking about it seems a little futile... And every now and again i see one of Rory's glowing reviews and get caught up in the moment and go and check it out on Youtube...and then realise i f::cking hate 99% of indy music...and have done since i was about eighteen...
Frank's cousin Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 Perhaps he had a rush of blood to the head? Missed by many ;-)
Ricky Redstripe Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 AALLULLEPI  Yeah, they've confused me too. What the hell is that meant to mean?
maxi_sopez Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 IF your reading this Will, can you sort me some tickets for your gig with Jay-Z at wembley. You were really good at the O2 and you should definitely sing more! Love Max
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 I suppose it could be worse. Phil Collins could be a Saints fan :-(
