Lowestoft-Saint Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 I was just wondering what sort of turn out we will get for this trip.....If..... We need either a point or three to stay up. Im not sure what our allocation for the game is, but wondered if this game could see masses of Saints fans travel up just at the spur of the moment... I know the turn out we had at Dellhurst park can never be repeated but I think this game could possibly see a few of the Old boys out on the lash.... Has anyone any thoughts on its potential to be a sort of Great Escape day out
slickmick Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 I hope not. Can't stand these last game of the season finishes. Some one posted on another thread that will will get 4000 tickets. All will sell if the result matters.
chocco boxo Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 If we are still in with a chance I think we could take quite a few up there, many without tickets. Is it still the old 3-1 ratio up there??? Could be a weekend and a half!
Andy_Porter Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 Will be a quality game if we're still in with a chance, I've booked the Monday off work already.
Lowestoft-Saint Posted 11 March, 2009 Author Posted 11 March, 2009 I know it always used to be a good away day, and if we get 4000 tickets... they will deff sell out.... and I really do think a lot will go without tickets if the points are really needed.
saint_ed Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 If our fate is dependent on that game I'm going f'sure.
Bailey Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 If we need a win or a point to stay up on the final day, then we'll sell out our away allocation f'sure. I'll be going either way though!
SimonRichards Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 I'm going regardless of our position. Gonna have a weekend in Nottingham (Fri & Sat night) and still have the bank holiday monday to recover.
mynameisthehulk Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 I will be at this one just up the road, last game of the season, cant wait.
KK the 2nd Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 Will be a quality game if we're still in with a chance, I've booked the Monday off work already. I think Monday is a bank holiday?
Berkshire Saint Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 Will be well up for this one. Know a couple of Saints fans at Uni and a few Forest fans as well!
Saints foreva Posted 11 March, 2009 Posted 11 March, 2009 Just imagine.. 0-0... Last kick of the game we score. Right infront of the traverling fans. It would be magic. Pitch invasion if we stay up anyone?
oldsarum Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 I think Monday is a bank holiday? Yep monday is bank holiday. NB Kick off is 1.15PM see link http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11480
voteforpedro Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 Just looked on national rail, for train times and prices. I was thinking of booking in advance, thinking tickets would be cheap. Earliest train of the day: Depart Soton Central 06.55, arrive Nottingham 12.18: £82.50 Journey time 5.23hrs. Looks like there's loads of engineering works over that weekend.

I would recommend going via London. Southampton to Waterloo (retn) - £30 tube to St Pancras (retn) - £5 St Pancras to Nottingham (single) - £11 Nottingham to St Pancras (single) - £9 TOTAL - £55 And a darn sight quicker! If there's engineering works, come up to Winchester/Basingstoke/Reading - and go into London Paddington.

Footballfan Posted 13 March, 2009 Posted 13 March, 2009 arrive Nottingham 12.18 is a bit late for a 13.15 ko

Neil Posted 14 March, 2009 Posted 14 March, 2009 I know we've had this before, but can someone remind me what the obligation is for number of away tickets in the CCC? Think Premiership was smaller of 3,000 or 10% capacity, but don't know for CCC. We'd sell 4,500 for Forest easily if we get them!
stockportsaint Posted 15 March, 2009 Posted 15 March, 2009 according to http://www.footballgroundguide.com/nottingham_forest/ What Is It Like For Visiting Supporters? Up to 4,750 away fans can be accommodated in the lower tier of the Bridgford Stand, where the facilities and view of the action are good. I personally did not have any problems at the City Ground, but I have heard of away fans getting some hassle; for example it has not been unknown for the odd object to be thrown down on away fans from so called Forest fans seated above. Don't be surprised also if the stewards keep asking you to sit down if you stand in the seated areas, which can get annoying. There are also an element of Forest supporters in the 'A' Block of the Main Stand nearest to the away supporters, who feel it is their duty to continually berate away fans during the game, which can be unsavoury. It is also advised to keep colours covered around the ground, especially if you support another Midlands team. The good news though is that away fans can really make some noise from this stand, so make the most of it! So we could have over 4.5K there, wearing hard hats. Have a feeling that's more than were at Derby for the play-offs 2 yrs ago.
sticksaint Posted 15 March, 2009 Posted 15 March, 2009 I`m in the midland saints and apparently there has been considerable interest shown in this game already. The ticket man told me that if i wanted a guaranteed ticket through him i should get my application in early!
Lowestoft-Saint Posted 15 March, 2009 Author Posted 15 March, 2009 Im glad I started this thread as it already shows a few people are up for this game... Because of the kick off time and being a sunday Im now considering making it a weekend in Nottingham....
wild-saint Posted 15 March, 2009 Posted 15 March, 2009 surely season ticket holders will snap all these up

corsacar saint Posted 15 March, 2009 Posted 15 March, 2009 Saints and Forest could both be down by then. What an anti climax that could be.
LGTL Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 surely season ticket holders will snap all these up If the game means anything expect it to be on loyalty. STH's and Members that have attended x amount of games etc first.

I've not been around for some time, but how do you get from Winchester to Paddington without a fair detour? Not being smart, just curious.
hamster Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 but how do you get from Winchester to Paddington without a fair detour? Change ar t reading, not suer if it incurs extra cost, but there are four or five trains an hour on the route, so no long waits.
fanimal Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 It will be the both down anti climax referred to above WAD IMHO.
OttawaSaint Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 Won't be there but reminds me of when I went to see us beat Forest 3-1 up there (Magilton, Evans 2). More of that (if we are not already down) would be just the ticket. We were bottom the day we went there and ended up escaping, was amazing singing "we're staying up, we're staying up, Saints are staying up" as we 15,000 dejected Forest fans walked past. They went down that year...

They went down that year... No matter how many tickets they give us, it won't match the 76/77 FA Cup when about 10000 Saints fans took The Trent End. The match itself was one of the all time classics, a 3-3 draw with an absolute stunner from Ossie that nearly ripped the back of the net out. I fear we maybe be needing more than a draw this time around though.
Lets B Avenue Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 Was that the game when Le Tiss missed a penalty or was it the reverse fixture at the dell. I was there but it's a long time ago. I think it was at the City Ground though. No. That was in March 93 when Crossley saved and Le Tiss put the rebound over the bar. He then scored a belter in the 2nd half but we lost 2-1. Cloughies last game at the Dell, as they were relegated at the end of the season and he retired.
Lowestoft-Saint Posted 16 March, 2009 Author Posted 16 March, 2009 No. That was in March 93 when Crossley saved and Le Tiss put the rebound over the bar. Its strange because over the years we have had some good encounters with Forest, and even though we have not always come out on top I have had a bit of a soft spot for Forest but I guess thats because I liked Cloughie. I thought his achievements with Forest gave clubs like ours hope and a belief that the smaller & not so fashionable clubs could make a mark on the game... He may well of been outspoken and controversial but Im glad I can say I was around during his time, he was a legend. However he has gone now so come May 3rd I hope we are already safe but if not I hope we can get the points to make us safe, whatever way Im sure the day will be very interesting for teams at the bottom of the CCC.
sperm_john Posted 16 March, 2009 Posted 16 March, 2009 not far from n.hampton so may pop a long with the lads
The Godfather Posted 20 March, 2009 Posted 20 March, 2009 Wolves who play away at Forest have taken 5279 tickets(not surprisingly sold them all), so it gives us an idea of what sort of allocation we could get.
Chez Posted 20 March, 2009 Posted 20 March, 2009 Wolves who play away at Forest have taken 5279 tickets(not surprisingly sold them all), so it gives us an idea of what sort of allocation we could get. if its a do or die game for both then you can bet Forest fasn will be out in their numbers so that may limit the tickets we can take.
ericofarabia Posted 20 March, 2009 Posted 20 March, 2009 if its a do or die game for both then you can bet Forest fasn will be out in their numbers so that may limit the tickets we can take. Exactly my thoughts. If it is an us or them relegation scenario we will probably be allocated the minimum permittable amount to reduce our influence on the outcome.

Window Cleaner Posted 20 March, 2009 Posted 20 March, 2009 Exactly my thoughts. If it is an us or them relegation scenario we will probably be allocated the minimum permittable amount to reduce our influence on the outcome. Still we should get 3000 minimum (being approx 10% of 30600)
Mole Posted 20 March, 2009 Posted 20 March, 2009 If i don't get a ticket in the away end a forest ST holder has said he'll get me a ticket in their end.
Window Cleaner Posted 20 March, 2009 Posted 20 March, 2009 If i don't get a ticket in the away end a forest ST holder has said he'll get me a ticket in their end. Why?are you no longer convinced that we'll be down long before that match??
