Great South Run

Anyone else do this run? I am doing it this year, not sure whether to take it seriously, or run through Portsmouth in full Saints kit, face paints, jester hat and sponge hand... for charidee.

I was going to wear a Saints kit if I could get above, say, £500 in sponsorship money.

I'm thinking about doing it this year, done a couple of 10k runs now and want to do this next with a bit more training it should be fine.

 

Hopefully i'll manage to convince someone to do it with me.

Did it last year, found it pretty dull. Aside from the historic dockyards, Pompey is a featureless sh1thole to have to run through. Poor weather didn't help either.

I have even done this run when it was in it's rightful and spiritual home, good old So'ton. Think it started on the Avenue opposite the white gates (across from Taunton's) Can't remember if it went north or south first though. probably in 1990

I've done it a couple of times, had an email in my inbox this morning inviting me to apply for this year. I think I'll probably do it, it's pretty much at the end of my road and any training I do is along the route they use, so I may as well. Just wish it wasn't so expensive to enter.

i did the plymouth half marathon last year with work....not able to do so this year

 

13 miles just under 2 hours
